Business mogul and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has said he does not want to be rich in another man’s country.
According to Ibrahim Mahama, he wants to be rich in Ghana where his money will sit in Ghanaian local banks, to help Ghanaians.
In a news card shared by GHOne TV, Ibrahim Mahama is quoted to have said, “I don’t want to be rich in another man’s country, I want my money to sit in local banks, to be used in helping fellow Ghanaians”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to Ibrahim Mahama’s claims remarks stated, “I like it when millionaires manipulate the poor.
He should start by selling a bag of cement for 50cedis
They make billions from national resources, donate a few thousand, and pretend like they love Africa too much”.
A netizen added, “Every country in Africa can achieve huge levels of economic development if it’s businessman adopt this attitude. MBS locked up Saudi businessman in a luxury hotel and only let them out after they brought back their foreign stash and invested it locally”.
One X user added, “Everyone will make it if he or she gets the opportunities and privileges Ibrahim Mahama got through Sam Jonah at Goldfields, Kuffour admin, Mahama’s admin, Akuffo Addo’s admin.
Those who made it through the hard way MUST also be appreciated”.
“There are people naturally, God made them like this. They don’t want anything for themselves. They’re ordained to help people in need. God bless you, Mr Ibrahim,”, a netizen added.
A netizen added, “That is the mentality of a well-groomed rich man. Why invest in houses, a yacht and luxurious things in a foreign land, when you can do that here in Ghana? God bless this mindset”.
One last X user added, “Tell those stupid politicians who steal to buy houses in America, London, Dubai and put those looted funds in accounts there. If they had made those investments in the country, at least they’d have been half-wise, although they stole the money”.
In other news, Ibrahim Mahama has called on Ghanaians in South Africa to return home following the xenophobia attacks.
Ibrahim Mahama detailed that Ghanaians in South Africa, where they are attacked, make no sense when there are several opportunities in Ghana.
The Ghanaian business mogul is quoted to have said, “If there are other people, let them come. There is too much opportunity here for them. If it is to find seed money for them, out of the 200, even if 100 are able to make it will be better. Ghana is not a broke country; it is just that we don’t know where to put our capital.
There are people who need just a small help. That help I got, that Ghc 10,000, I am looking for people…Just that we are not disciplined. I gave someone who was struggling money, and you’ll see that they want to spend it,” he said.
He added, “If this man if he does well today, my children can meet him, and he will tell them your father is a good man”.
Also, Ibrahim Mahama has changed the life of the Ghanaian xenophobia victim Emmanuel Asamoah.
The Business mogul gifted Emmanuel Asamoah GH¢200,000 and also offered to set up a cement distribution, including a construction hardware depot for him.
In a post shared on X, a netizen wrote, “Business mogul, Mr Ibrahim Mahama, has offered to set up a cement distribution, including a construction hardware depot for xenophobia victim, Emmanuel Asamoah.
Mr Ibrahim gifted Emmanuel Asamoah GH¢200,000 to enable him to take a one-month break to reunite with his family”.
