A senior aide to former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has fired shots at the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Ken Agyapong, following his recent threats against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, nobody can threaten the NPP or hold the party to ransom.
He argued that Ken Agyapong is tarnishing the image of the party with his repeated threats and public criticisms.
Miracles Aboagye noted that if Ken has personal issues with people, they are not the NPP.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye quizzed whether Ken Agyapong would have tolerated such behaviour if he had won the NPP presidential primaries.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on June 19, 2029, Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated, βIf you have personal issues with people, are they the NPP? So, if he was the one who won the flagbearership and Dr Bawumia was doing this to him, would he be happy? Why? You donβt threaten the NPP.
βYou donβt threaten the NPP, If you want something to be done, you donβt threaten the party to get it. If you do this, you put all of us at risk,β he stated.
His comment comes on the heels of Ken Agyapong, who has vowed to take action against members of his own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), starting in June or July 2027.
According to Ken Agyapong, the NPP thinks he is stupid to come and follow them again, warning that from July 2027, they will see action from him.
Speaking on Net 2 TV, the former NPP flagbearer aspirant, Ken Agyapong, stated, βIt will not be long when you travel the way they respect you, then when you get here. Somebody like KOKA is saying my head has been operated on. He does not know what will happen to him. NPP people, are you ready? I am saying June, July 2027, me and you action in Ghana, you will be surprised, you think I am stupid.
You think I am stupid to come and follow you guys again. If you were to say ten sins of Ken Agyapong, you wait and see what will happen. I am not afraid of you, you wait and see. I have given you the time, June 2027, you will see action in this countryβ.
Also, Ken Agyapong disclosed that he will not be intimidated or silenced by criticism from within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Ken Agyapong comments follow the criticism he received following his remarks about the party for failing to complete and operationalise the Afari Military Hospital during its eight years in government.
Ken Agyapong dismissed suggestions that he was motivated by bitterness, adding that his comments were about national development rather than partisan interests.
He added, βThe NPP says I am bitter. I will not say anything to them. They think it is about what they did during the campaign. They canβt shut me down. If Ghanaians want to know, they should ask them about Agenda 111 if they were able to complete one. They sold the contracts to other people and take 10 per centβ.
βNPP should be careful with me, saying I am bitter. If they provoke me, I will spill the beans all over the place,β he cautioned.
βIn the NDC too, I was there when somebody brought a contract to my wife about 55 million dollars. She was asked to pay an advance of 7 per cent before they give it to her,β he alleged.
Meanwhile, Kwasi Kwarteng, a spokesperson for Ken Agyapong, has explained that his boss has genuine concerns about working with Abronye, Adwoa Safo, KOKA, and others.
According to Kwesi Kwarteng, calls from some party members demanding the sacking of Ken Agyapong over his outburst are not wise.
He argued that the expulsion of Ken Agyapong from the party, considering the current state of the NPP compared to 2016, when some party leaders were dismissed, and the party still went on to win power.
Kwesi Kwarteng highlighted that it would be better for the party to resolve its internal differences rather than remove Ken Agyapong.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on June 21, 2026, Kwasi Kwarteng explained, βLet us assume, without admitting, that Kennedy was even wrong. You will still need him and his supporters. Instead of debating who is right or wrong, why donβt we come together, apologise to each other, and move on? Is that difficult?
βIf you listen to his concerns, he was asking how he could work with Abronye, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, KOKA, Adwoa Safo, and others. Donβt you think he has genuine concerns?
βDo you think if these issues had been discussed behind closed doors, they would have become public? Ken is not a saint; he is a human being. Sacking him from the party who does it benefit?β he said.
βIt is not only party members who will vote in the election. You will still need Kennedy Agyapong, his supporters, and the many people who look up to him,β he added.
