The sister of the late Ghanaian phone dealer, Terry Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero, Maame Sika Edem, has debunked claims that her brother died while chasing a woman.
Maame Sika Edem warned the public to be cautious about spreading false allegations concerning her brother.
According to the sister, Terry Yaw Kyere was not a troublesome person and had gone to Teshie in response to a phone delivery request when he was allegedly attacked.
Speaking in a video shared on TikTok, Maame Sika Edem stated, “The guy is not a rascal. They called him to say they wanted a delivery, so he was not going to chase any woman. It was a plot that they planned against him. He did not go on a ‘Salomey’; he has a house.
“So, those spreading bad news about him should stop. He is an Ewe man, so those making false allegations should be careful,” she said.
The development follows Terry’s death, which has become a subject of widespread discussion on social media following reports surrounding his disappearance and subsequent death.
Reports suggest the incident came to public attention on September 20, 2026, when reports and images began circulating online suggesting that the phone dealer, who operated around the Circle area in Accra, had gone missing.
According to reports gathered, Terry had informed some of his close associates that he was travelling to Teshie to complete a phone transaction.
Following reports of his disappearance, a conversation between Terry and his close friend and business partner, identified as Suave, surfaced on social media.
In the leaked chat, Terry reportedly told Suave that a lady with whom he had been communicating had invited him to her residence in Teshie.
Terry initially informed his friends that he was going to Teshie to deliver a phone. However, the conversation later suggested that he had been invited to the location by the woman he had reportedly been communicating with.
Reports suggest that in the same conversation, Terry reportedly shared his live location and a video of the room where he was staying, with Suave allegedly asking his friend to take note of his last known location in case anything happened to him.
Terry further told Suave that he had been offered wine, with his friend subsequently expressing concern that the drink might have affected him.
The information gathered suggests that at about 12:30 a.m., Terry reportedly sent another message claiming that he had been set up and that some soldiers were present in the room.
At around 3:41 a.m., he allegedly sent another message indicating that the issue involving the soldiers had been resolved and that he was on his way home.
Meanwhile, as concerns over Terry’s whereabouts grew, images of him and his missing Honda Civic, bearing registration number B9055, were circulated on social media.
According to reports, a mechanic later contacted the police after an individual identified as Philip Tefe allegedly approached him to spray-paint the vehicle and carry out maintenance work on it.
Philip Tefe’s actions reportedly raised further suspicion surrounding the circumstances of Terry’s disappearance.
The information gathered suggests Philip Tefe was the individual allegedly posing as a soldier whom Terry mentioned in his conversation with Suave, and has been identified as a suspect in connection with the phone dealer’s death.
Reports disclosed that Terry was allegedly lured through a catfishing scheme, with Philip Tefe purportedly posing as the woman with whom Terry had been communicating.
Also, another person, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police, has reportedly been arrested and is assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the Police are continuing their investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding Terry’s death and the events leading up to it.
