Salma Mumin, a Ghanaian actress and filmmaker, has dismissed claims that she was in a romantic relationship with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.
According to Salma Mumin, the allegations are completely false, disclosing that she has never seen or met Chief of Staff Julius Debrah before.
The actress explained that such an allegation could have had serious consequences if she had been in a committed relationship with another person.
She disclosed she previously preferred to remain silent whenever she faced allegations or criticism, believing that refusing to engage was the best way to handle such situations, adding that her willingness to now speak about the matter reflects a change in her confidence.
Speaking on Joy Prime on September 11, 2026, during an interview with Nikki Samonas, Salma Mumin stated, “Recently, Afia Schwarzenegger came out mentioning the name of Julius Debrah as my boyfriend. I’ve never seen the man before, I’ve never met him before, I’ve never run into him anywhere in my entire life, but I’m being tagged that I’m dating him”.
“Back then, I wouldn’t sit here to talk about it, but look at me talking about it, and that’s how confident I have been. I still believe silence is not golden. I’ve debunked it; I’m not dating Julius Debrah. I’ve never seen him before,” Salma noted.
She, however, acknowledged that her denial may not convince everyone, noting that some people could still choose to believe the allegations against her.
Salma Mumin also urged people facing similar claims to speak up and defend themselves, regardless of whether others ultimately accept their side of the story.
Her comments follow allegations by Afia Schwarzenegger on social media in 2025 alleging that Salma was dating Julius Debrah.
Afia Schwarzenegger also directed strong criticism at Julius Debrah while discussing the matter.
Her remarks consequently ignited a wider conversation, with the alleged relationship becoming part of a broader political debate on social media.
