Martin Kpebu, a Private legal practitioner, has said the former Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament disqualifies him from serious presidential consideration.
Lawyer Kpebu noted that Ken Agyapong lacks the temperament and everything to be president.
Speaking on The Key Point on Saturday, January 3, Martin Kpebu explained, “When it comes to Kennedy Agyapong, you know, he lacks the temperament and everything to be president, so we’ll not waste any more time on that,” he added.
Lawyer Kpebu further asserted that the NPP has effectively ruled itself out of winning the 2028 general elections with the range of candidates they are presenting ahead of their primaries.
He declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not ready for the 2028 election.
Lawyer Kpebu stated, “This whole range of candidates, it tells me one thing: the NPP is not ready for the 2028 election. They are not ready. This is the tone-deaf attitude that got them into opposition in the first place.
How can you parade Bawumia? Bawumia, who is a feather with Akufo-Addo? Such a man who helped Akufo-Addo to unleash terror on us, economic doldrums, right? Haircuts, left-right-centre. When… where is he going to get a better record to campaign? You have to bring somebody who is not tainted,” he said.
He added, “Bryan Acheampong, who wanted to take our hotels for a song. Bryan Acheampong wanted to take our hotels for a song, but for the leadership of Okudzeto, who mobilised Ghanaians. He will loot us dry. Bryan Acheampong will loot us dry,” he stated.
“He’s a good guy, but when you’re looking for a president, there must be that spark. He has not postured himself as someone who can be the father of the nation,” he said.
“Kwabena Agyapong, I have nothing to say that particularly. It’s just that his time is gone, that’s it,” he stated.
“They should bring the youngster, bring Boamah, so that he will contest 2028, lose, and then by 2032 everyone will say, ‘Yes, now he’s ripe,’” he stated.
Also, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), a Ghanaian satirist and anti-corruption advocate, has said Kennedy Agyapong cannot be tame.
KSM noted that Kennedy Agyapong is running to become president of Ghana, so he has adapted his character; however, he added that the former Assin Central MP cannot be measured, and he will slip back to his old self soon.
Speaking on KSM UNFILTERED, hosted by Bridget Otoo, Kwaku Sintim-Misa explained, “Well, he is running for president, so he has to adapt to a new phase, so that is a new
face now, as to whether that phase is sustainable, will he be that or not? That is the question for all Ghanaians to know and decide.
When asked if Ken Agyapong is capable of being measured or tame, he added, “No, you can’t tame him; he can be melo for a while and tolerate things for a while, but it will get to a point where he will say he is tired because that is not him. After a while, he will just slip back.
Meanwhile, George Ayisi, a member of the National Communications Team of the NPP and a member of the Kennedy Agyapong team, has said the former Assin Central MP has agreed he needs to work on his emotions.
According to George Ayisi, the campaign team held a meeting, and concerns were raised pertaining to Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament, which he agrees needs to be worked on.
George Ayisi, however, asserted that it is not going to be an overnight vision.
Speaking on JoyPrime, George Ayisi stated, “When we got onboard, we had a lot of meetings with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and raised some of these issues, the sentiment of the people we raised it, that it is part of things we need work on. He agreed with us. When was the last time you heard Hon Ken being vituperative?
That’s why we also said let Ken be Ken, we know it is not going to be an overnight vision, we allow him to be him, but because it is a concern and a worry to a lot of Ghanaian people, we need to work on it”.
He added, “In fact, when Nana Addo came in the beginning, his English a lot of people had difficulty in understanding or even hearing what he was saying. It took some time and work on him to be able to get to appreciate what he was saying, to be a bit slow.
The conduct that is Ken is very passionate, and sometimes when you fight for the NPP, if you put about GHS11 million to GHS18 million to support your party in any given campaign, and my conduct is derailing the effort of the investment, how will you feel?”.
