According to the Aunt, Adwoa Safo recounted experiencing a supernatural moment during the incident.

She disclosed that Adwoa Safo revealed to her that she saw a bright light covering her face, and within that moment, she saw her late father shielding her from bullets.

Speaking at a brief press conference at the 37 Military Hospital on June 23, 2026, Nana Pomaa Nhyira stated. “Adwoa said that as the bullets were approaching, a bright light suddenly covered her face, and she saw Daddy (Apostle Kwadwo Safo) standing before her, taking the bullets.

If he was able to shield her from the bullets and prevent them from harming her, then he should also support the doctors in healing her and ensure that she receives justice,” her aunt said.

Nana Pomaa Nhyira further urged the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to also support the doctors in treating her niece and ensure that she receives justice.

Also, Nana Pomaa Nyira has appealed to the police and the courts to ensure justice is served in the ongoing shooting case involving her niece.

Nana Pomaa Nyira expressed worry following news that Israel Kwadwo Safo and eight others were granted bail.

According to Adwoa Safo’s aunt, the bail granted to Israel Kwadwo Safo and eight others put the safety of Adwoa Safo’s relatives and associates in danger.

Nana Pomaa Nyira called on the Police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served.

She further questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, noting that 48 rounds of ammunition were discharged during the confrontation.

Speaking to the media after the suspects in the case were granted bail, Adwoa Safo’s aunt stated, “ We are always with her, informing people about the funeral, so if you grant them bail, then our lives are also in danger. We will plead with the authorities to deliver justice”.

“The police should look into the matter and ensure that justice is served,” she added.

“I have seen that they have been granted bail, but I will insist that justice is served because this matter involved 48 bullets,” she said.

Nana Pomaa Nyira further described Adwoa Safo as a caring sister who played a significant role in the upbringing of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo.

“Adwoa is not a thief. She loves Akofena; I will even say she raised him. Did she deserve what happened?” she asked.

Meanwhile, the case involving the younger brother of  Sarah Adwoa Safo, Israel Kwadwo Safo and eight others has been adjourned to September 23.

The nine individuals were accused in connection with the shooting incident involving Sarah Adwoa Safo.

In court, the nine bail in the sum of GH¢500,000 each with two sureties are not required to be justified, but must sign a bail justification.

All nine accused in court pleaded not guilty to five charges, including use of an offensive weapon, possession of an offensive weapon, prohibition of vigilante groups, discharging of firearms in public, and causing unlawful damage.

The accused include Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, the brother of the injured former MP, along with Jehosaphat Tamaklo Safo, Kwabena Safo, and Benjamin Amoakwa Sam.

Enock Badu, Richard Ayitey, Gideon Safo, Nana Kwaku Afriyie, and Kwadwo Safo Koomsom are the other suspects.

According to prosecutors, the alleged shooting resulted in injuries to Ms Adwoa Safo during the installation process within the Kristo Asafo Mission.

Speaking to Eyewitness News on Tuesday, June 23, the lawyer for Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka confirmed the charges.

He disclosed that the prosecution’s case is on unlawful possession of weapons and involvement in prohibited vigilante activity.

“The charges was the prohibition of vigilante groups and then possession of weapons unlawfully. Basically those were the two charges that I went through,” Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka stated.
