Reverend Kwadwo Bempah, Head Pastor of the Holy Hill Chapel, Assemblies of God Church, has caused a stir on social media following a viral video of him speaking about tithes.

Speaking in the viral video, shared by Daily Graphic online, Rev Kwadwo Bempah stated that he would not give out his tithe under any circumstances.

According to Rev Kwadwo Bempah, he won’t give out his tithes even to someone who is dying, adding that giving to God is a means to be rewarded with divine abundance.

The man of God highlighted that he could risk losing his salvation if he gave his tithe to a person instead of offering it to God.

Rev Kwadwo Bempah in the viral video stated, “I won’t give you my tithe; if you are dying, you will die. I won’t give it to you. Because if I give it to you, I will join you in dying. But if I give my tithe, maybe God will raise you. So be careful.

“Those of you who have twisted so many things about God, unbelievers, when they hear this, they don’t understand. It is God first,” he said.

The man of God added, “God will never allow you to let anything take His place, whether your wife, your husband, or your children. He gave you those children; they cannot be more important than Him. God does not struggle to give; He simply breathes, and things come into being.

“That is why some people desire children but do not have them, while others who do not seek them receive them. What seems difficult is not difficult for God. Obey Him. Come out of emotions. In blessing, I will bless you,” he added.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the man of God’s claims stated, “What does God need money for? Stop extorting money from poor and innocent people in the name of God. Something that is created by man, and you think God needs it in order to grant someone’s wish. Come on, pastor!”.

One X user added, “All these stomach pastors using tithe to manipulate gullible people, they keep making Christianity very unattractive and archaic. God don’t need anyone’s tithe to be God; all the tithe and offering go to the pastors and their families, leaving the poor and vulnerable to nothing”.

“If not religious slavery, then who will listen to this nonsense…..have you seen God before? Or do you people think the useless and nonsensical things you do in that building mean anything to God ong? Whose religion is given…sense is actually taken ampa”, a netizen added.

An X user stated, “So he wants me to watch my brother die because of given first to God….

The Bible de3 everyone Dey preach where e do benefit am…..

I just wish one day God would appear somewhere in the clouds and tell us the truth”.

An additional netizen added, “Most of our African Pastors have a lot of faith, read their Bible from cover to cover, but will follow the wrong teachings and practices because of money. This isn’t new to us at all”.

One last X user added, “Most of you speak out of emotions too much

There’s context here; if you don’t understand what Tithe means, don’t insult a preacher about it.

In Christianity, the tithe is a tax you pay to the church; you can’t negotiate with GRA that you are dying, so they should let you spend your tax on the government.

If you want to do good, which Christianity encourages, you do good with the rest of your 90% of your salary after you have the take the 10% tithe. Simple”.
