A security guard has been remanded by the Asokore Mampong District Court for allegedly raping two KNUST female students.
The security guard has been identified as Lloyd Kwaku Boateng.
Reports suggest the security guard raped, extorted and intimidated two female students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),
The information gathered suggests Lloyd Kwaku Boateng, who works at the Ayeduase Roman Catholic Junior High School, harasses and assaults students who visit the school compound at night.
Reports detailed that on February 13, 2026, Boateng allegedly confronted a 22-year-old student and her boyfriend, accusing them of misconduct and reportedly assaulting the boyfriend, seizing their belongings, and demanding GH₵300.
He allegedly threatened to humiliate her publicly before dragging her into a classroom to rape her.
According to the information gathered two months later, on April 4, 2026, another student, aged 23, reported a similar ordeal with the security guard, who allegedly held her hostage overnight, threatened her with a knife, raped her and forced her to transfer GH₵150 via mobile money.
The guard has also been accused of taking nude photographs of the victim and threatening to release them if she reported the incident.
He was arrested on April 13, 2026, with medical reports confirming physical trauma in both cases.
Boateng has since denied the allegations in his caution statement.
However, Chief Inspector Samuel Agyare, the prosecutor, urged the court to remand the accused while investigations continue.
Hilda Esther Wryter, who presided over the case, adjourned proceedings to May 8, 2026.
The news has since caused a stir on X with netizens saying, “ot of nonsense has been happening with these securities and students for a very long time. These securities can just stop a troski and start searching students as if they’re on a hunt for something. I personally believe that this is 💯 true”.
A netizen added, “He got away with it the first time, which made him feel bold enough to do it again. That’s why we should never forgive any rapist.
Glad he’s arrested, he should be given the maximum sentence of 25yrs”.
In other news, the mother of Priscilla, a 14-year-old, has narrated how her daughter was allegedly drugged and raped.
She confirmed the incident, stating that two young men in their area reportedly drugged her with weed-infused toffee before assaulting her and recording and sharing the act.
According to Mother, she only learned of the incident after returning home from town, adding that her older son had to confront the suspects, but the situation quickly escalated, and he was stabbed with a broken bottle before the attackers fled the neighbourhood.
Speaking in a viral video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL, the woman narrated, “My name is Dedee. I was not at home. In the evening, when I came back from the market, I was informed by my husband, who said my brother showed the video to him, that my daughter had been gang raped,” she narrated in Ga.
“So, I asked my daughter whether what had happened was true, but she denied it. Then I called on my brother to come and ask her,” she said.
“She opened up to my brother and confirmed the incident. My husband also confirmed it. Then my son came in and asked what had happened. He was briefed, then he decided to meet the guys who did that to his sister,” she said.
“When he confronted them, they asked him what he could do to them. Shortly after that, they started fighting, and my brother separated them. I went into the room.
“My son was called outside with some elderly people. While talking to them, one of the guys who raped his sister came with a broken bottle and stabbed him multiple times,” she recounted.
