The National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council, at a meeting held yesterday, Thursday, June 25, have tasked the NPP Disciplinary Committee to sit on a petition to remove Ken Agyapong from the party.

According to the National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, the party has received petitions from some members and Members of Parliament calling for the dismissal of Hon. Ken Agyapong from the party.

Nana Boakye revealed that the petitions have been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for review, and the party expects to receive a report on the matter within the next two weeks.

He disclosed that the decision was taken by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council at a meeting held yesterday, Thursday, June 25.

He added that the NPP’s highest decision-making organs had unanimously agreed to refer all petitions against Ken Agyapong to the disciplinary committee for consideration.

Nana Boakye disclosed that the disciplinary body has been given two weeks to investigate the petitions and submit its recommendations.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Top Story on Thursday, Henry Nana Boakye stated, “The decision was that all of these petitions must be referred to the National Disciplinary Committee”.

“Let’s manage for the next two weeks, and when we receive the report, and a decision is made, it will be communicated appropriately,” Mr Boakye added.

Should the petitions hold weight, Kennedy Agyapong will be invited to appear before it, ensuring he is given a fair hearing before the final report is compiled and submitted to leadership.

Meanwhile, Ralph Kwame Agyapong, a lawyer and brother of the maverick politician, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has claimed that his brother has quit the New Patriotic Party.

According to Ralph Kwame Agyapong, the former Assin Central and NPP flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong has quit the NPP.

Ralph Kwame Agyapong further alleged that the people of Mamprusi are those behind the ‘Ken Must Go protest’.

Speaking on OKAY FM with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Ralph Kwame Agyapong stated, “Kennedy Agyapong have quit the NPP. The people of Mamprusi are behind the protest. I can give you all of their contact numbers.  

Those who want to protest have their numbers, and I can give them to you. He should stop so we all have peace of mind.

When I speak, it is Ken Agyapong who is talking”, he added.

Also, Ken Agyapong had earlier hinted at the possibility of breaking away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Ken Agyapong, do the NPP think he is stupid to come and follow them again, warning that from July 2027, they will see action from him.

Speaking on Net 2 TV, the former NPP flagbearer aspirant, Ken Agyapong, stated, “It will not be long when you travel the way they respect you, then when you get here. Somebody like KOKA is saying my head has been operated on. He does not know what will happen to him. NPP people, are you ready? I am saying June, July 2027, me and you action in Ghana, you will be surprised, you think I am stupid. 

You think I am stupid to come and follow you guys again. If you were to say ten sins of Ken Agyapong, you wait and see what will happen. I am not afraid of you, you wait and see. I have given you the time, June 2027, you will see action in this country”.
