A disturbing CCTV video circulating on social media has captured three suspected armed robbers allegedly using running water to lure a resident out of his home before attacking him and breaking into the property.
The footage, shared by Ghanaian social media platforms Public Eye and The State News, shows the men entering a residential compound and turning on an outdoor water tap before hiding in a dark corner.
The suspects appear to have deliberately left the tap running to attract the attention of someone inside the house, prompting the occupant to step outside and investigate.
Moments later, the unsuspecting resident emerges and approaches the tap to turn off the water. One of the men then suddenly attacks him, striking him on the head with a stick.
The victim is seen collapsing to the ground, apparently unconscious, as the suspected robbers reportedly proceed to force their way into the house in search of valuables.
However, details surrounding the incident remain unconfirmed. The footage does not indicate the exact location or date of the alleged robbery, while claims that it occurred in Ghana have yet to be independently verified.
It is also unclear whether the victim survived the attack, the extent of his injuries or whether the suspects have been identified or arrested.
Despite the uncertainty, the video has generated widespread concern online, with social media users expressing alarm over the apparent method used to lure the resident outside and warning others to exercise caution, especially at night.
Some netizens reacting to the video stated, “Father always deliver us from violent and wicked men’s hands. May you always blind their eyes from our ways”.
“These are the kind of people that deserve capital punishment. It’s a shame it was barely used and ultimately abolished eventually”, one X user added.
“This is frightening! 🚨 Criminals are becoming increasingly bold. We need stronger security, swift investigations, and justice for victims. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home. #StopArmedRobbery #PublicSafety”, a netizen added.
