Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the Greater Accra regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vowed not to rest until Dr Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president of Ghana.

The newly elected NPP Accra regional chairman, in a post on social media, thanked delegates and party folks who voted for him.

He further called on all party folks to come on board to help deliver power to the NPP in 2028.

Dr Bernard Okoe Boye in a post stated, “I thank all constituency executives for their support and participation in yesterday’s election.

The 488–173 result represents a clear and emphatic endorsement; I am deeply grateful.

Thank you for the trust, encouragement and commitment throughout this journey. We shall not rest until we make Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia President of the Republic of Ghana.

Thank you, Greater Accra. The Restoration Begins!”

Also, the NPP regional contest saw popular names like Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka COKA, Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye and Abronye DC winning their respective regional contest.

The election forms part of the NPP’s reorganisation as the party seeks to strengthen its structures and prepare for the 2028 general elections.

Meanwhile, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has boldly told the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) that whether they like it or not, the NPP will return to power in 2028.

The minority leader urged party faithful to work hard to win the 2028 general election.

Speaking at the NPP’s ‘Democracy Under Attack’ demonstration in Accra on August 6, 2026, the Minority Leader boldly stated, “Whether the NDC likes it or not, the NPP will assume power in 2028. If you are an NPP member, work hard so that power returns to the party”.

He further assured the former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo that she will be reinstated when the NPP returns to power in 2028.

“Let me tell the former Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, that she should not be sad. When the NPP returns to power under Bawumia, she will be reinstated as Chief Justice,” he said.
