Nana Aba Anamoah, a Ghanaian media personality, has condemned a viral video of a 12-year-old content creator, Adobea, openly consuming alcohol in the presence of an adult woman.
In the viral video, the 12-year-old was captured drinking from a Smirnoff bottle while an adult woman was seated behind.
Nana Aba, in her criticism, fired shots at the adult sitting beside the child and the one taking the video described their decision to allow the 12-year-old girl to drink alcohol as “spectacular adult stupidity”.
In her post, Nana Aba Anamoah wrote, “Some people have really lost the plot. A grown woman (clearly without a functioning brain) is sitting right beside a child drinking Smirnoff Ice, while another fool is busy filming the whole thing instead of stopping it”.
“Not only did nobody have the sense to take the drink away, someone actually thought, “Let me record this.” What kind of spectacular adult stupidity is this? Imagine being old enough to know better and still being this useless around a child”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the comments made by Nana Aba Anamoah stated, “Cheap way of making or creating content!! And that’s just the Ghana way ! Look at our movie industry!! Lack of creativity and lack of knowledge of how this can be harmful for this little girl”.
“Whether content or not, I’ve had to seize Club Beer from my basic 4 pupil when she brought it to school to share with her mates.
When I interrogated her, she said they take it at home on a normal so she thought it was normal just like any other drink”, one X user added.
A netizen added, “This has been ongoing for a while now. I don’t know if it’s the new flex or whatever. Alcohol intake in kids has stupidly been normalised, and it’s beyond reasoning. The rise in kidney and liver problems in children is very alarming. Some adult Ghanaians have really lost the plot stupidly”.
An X user argued, “Society failed the young girl. Useless men don’t vet these girls properly before deciding to start a family with them. Institutions like DOVSU (WAJU) are useless. Laws are not being enforced, and irresponsible people are damaging the future of our society and country as a whole..”
“Now I sincerely believe the people she was talking about that were trying take her shine are people who were trying to give her mother parenting advice because this doesn’t look like her first time”, one more netizen added.
Another X user stated, “Nana, the lady took the video herself in the name of content. These days people use these kids for unnecessary content, forgetting they’re kids and shouldn’t be exposed to certain things”.
“You could have just gone by with gentler and more kinda words without any insult to address this.
We all ain’t supportive of what is being allowed in the video, but imagine same age mate kids are also reading what you’re addressing what moral lesson at the end of this two….”, an X user stated.
One last X user added, “The problem here is assuming everyone “old enough “ knows better. Some people, including the most educated ones, are fools forever, and nothing can save that. Most people don’t deserve to raise kids, and this woman and her entire household are an example”.
