Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has said the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is putting Justin Koduah and John Boadu together is a recipe for chaos.

According to Mr Tameklo, the combination of the two party executives would heighten tensions and deepen divisions within the NPP.

In a TV3 news flyer, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo is quoted as saying, “Any attempt to put Justin Koduah and John Boadu on the executive body will be a recipe for chaos”.

However, Justin Frimpong Kodua, the retained NPP General Secretary, has dismissed concerns of an alleged rift between newly appointed party Chairman John Boadu.

The alleged rift stems from the 2022 NPP National Delegates Conference, where Justin Kodua Frimpong defeated John Boadu.

According to Justin Kodua, there is no bad blood between them, adding that neither of them has expressed an unwillingness to work with the other.

He stressed that they are mature enough to put the interests of the party ahead of their previous electoral contest.

Justin Kodua stated, “JB never stood anywhere and said that he can’t work with me. Likewise, I never stood anywhere and said I cannot work with JB”.

“So there shouldn’t be any problem. People are entitled to make their own assumptions and to make their own estimations. But for us, we don’t have any issue. We are all mature politicians,” he added.

Kodua stressed that the priority of the incoming leadership is to unite the party and work towards returning the NPP to power in the 2028 general election.

He noted that the new national executive team shares a common objective of supporting the party’s flagbearer in his bid for the presidency.

Dr Bawumia stated, “We all have a common agenda, which is to make Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the president of Ghana in 2029. And we are focused”.

Meanwhile, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the leader and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called for all factions that emerged during the party’s internal elections to dissolve and unite as one camp ahead of the 2028 elections.

The NPP flagbearer stressed that the internal elections were over, with focus now shifting to rebuilding the party and preparing for the next national election.

According to Dr Bawumia, unity would be critical to the party’s efforts to regain power, urging all members and supporters to put their differences behind them and work together.

Speaking after the swearing-in of the newly elected national executives of the party on October 4, Dr Bawumia stated, “Elections are over. All the camps will dissolve, and let us have one NPP camp and go and win 2028”.

“Let us all understand that winning 2028 is about unity. Unity in this party will give us victory. Let us come together to work,” he said.

He further encouraged candidates who lost national executive elections not to see themselves as defeated.

Bawumia stated, “ You did not lose. The NPP won”.

“There is no time to waste. Day one, this week, by the grace of God, we should all meet and begin the process of getting to the 2028 election,” he said.

“We must work harder. And let us all start this week by meeting and putting our strategies together to capture power in 2028,” he said.

His comment follows the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on October 3, 2026, electing a new crop of national executives to oversee the party’s affairs following its National Delegates Conference.

Over  7,000 delegates from across the country participated in the conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
