Brian said he immediately rushed to help after noticing that Javits was bleeding, applying pressure to his wound in an attempt to control the bleeding.

He explained that he stayed with the teenager until additional help arrived, doing what he could to keep him alive.

He also expressed how deeply moved he was by Javits’ composure, noting that the teenager remained remarkably calm despite the seriousness of his injuries.

Emma Brian stated, “My name is Brian. When I came around that corner, I didn’t expect to find something that would change my life. I saw Javits lying there, and my immediate thought was to run up and stop the bleeding once I saw he was bleeding”.

“And I put pressure on the wound, did my best to stop the bleeding, and basically just stayed with him till someone was there and, you know, besides that point, the main thing that I wanted to get out and I wanted his family to know was that he was extremely brave throughout the whole thing,” he recounted.

“I would have been crying my eyes out like a little girl if I got shot, and he wasn’t doing any of that. You know, he told me his name when I asked him his name and, you know, besides that, he was just extremely brave throughout the whole thing,” Brian said.
