“I was kidnapped and robbed by the Police” – American lady visiting Ghana for Detty December

0

An American lady visiting Ghana for Detty December has alleged that she was kidnapped and robbed by the police in Ghana.

According to the American lady, individuals in uniform took about $400 from her and one other guy, who was a Ghanaian.

Speaking in a self-recorded video, the American lady narrated, “Last night I was kidnapped and robbed by Police in Ghana. I was kidnapped by three masked police officers who covered their license plates. They didn’t have name badges on, they took our phones and my camera.

The Uber driver who picked us up at the end of the night told me this is something that happens frequently with the police setting up checkpoints all over the city, and they will stop, and when they find out you are American or have money, then they will take you.

She continued, “They heard my ascent because they asked a question and I had to answer. They checked our bags and our whole bodies. After they checked my bag and I had cash, they told me to get in the car.

I tried to ask why, but they got mad anytime I tried to ask the question. A friend of a friend was in the car, and he was actually cuffed because he was from Ghana; they didn’t cuff me, they drove us around, and I didn’t know where I was. One of the cops had his hand around me all the time.”

The American lady added, “They told me they were going to arrest me and the charges would not let me go back to America, and they told my friend he was going to go to jail. At one point, they were five offices; at another point, they were three.

They pulled over to an ATM They could not go with me to the ATM I wanted to tell the Bank people I was not good, but they still had my phone and camera and the person I was with, so I took out $150 and gave it to them, and they still wanted more money. They got about $400”, she added.

She further added that, thankfully, she was not physically harmed.

Meanwhile, some netizens have reacted to the video, saying, “She should be invited to the CID headquarters for investigation. Kidnapping is not child’s play…”.

Another netizen added, “All these clout chasers entering our country just create a bad image for us. She should be invited by the police to prove all these allegations. If there isn’t any, she should never be allowed entry into this country again.

We don’t need this bad energy in this country”.

“This is very true, @GhPoliceService is capable of doing this. I was once stopped at one checkpoint at Osu when you’re coming from Lady. I was with a British lady and the mandem said I was holding a toffee without a brand name on it, so it’s a wee toffee”, a netizen added.

One more X user added, “Dampare barred the police from roadside searches whenever it’s December. That was what helped Detty December boom. The current IGP is disgracing Ghana because this isn’t the first time”

“Agradaa is doing well in prison… she’s even preaching” – Ex-convict now Evangelist

0

A former convict turned preacher, Evangelist Richard Nyarko, has shared information about Ghanaian preacher Mama Pat, alias Agradaa.

Evangelist Richard Nyarko, who spent two decades behind bars, has revealed he personally saw Evangelist Patricia Asiedua doing well in prison and actively preaching.

Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV on November 30, 2025, “Our sister Patricia is doing well by the grace of God. I saw her last Sunday…All I can say is that, as the scripture says, ‘before I was afflicted, I went astray.’ It will surprise us that some of these people will come out and do great things. I will not campaign for the government to intervene, but the Lord will orchestrate her freedom in His time”.

The last time I went, she was preaching before I entered. I saw her preaching, but normally, when an external pastor comes in, they give way for those who came from outside”.

Meanwhile, a viral video has emerged of Ghanaian preacher Mama Pat, alias Agradaa, being escorted out of court.

In the viral video shared on social media by multiple accounts, Agradaa was being escorted by Ghana Prison Officers after appearing before the Amasaman High Court.

Agradaa was seen dressed in a white top and a black skirt, with nose marks and was escorted by about six prison officers as she entered the Ghana Prison Service bus.

According to reports, Nana Agradaa appeared before the Amasaman High Court to appeal to the court to reduce her 15-year jail sentence.

Her legal team prayed the court for a short adjournment when the case was called before a new judge, indicating that the defence would adopt the earlier proceedings rather than begin the trial afresh.

Agradaa was convicted in July 2025 for defrauding church members through a money-doubling scheme.

Her team seeks to have the conviction and sentence overturned.

Agradaa is serving a 15-year jail term after she was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences.

She was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court.

Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.

Her charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.

In the ad, Agradaa claimed she has the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.

According to the Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and showed no remorse during proceedings.

Ex-Buffer Stock CEO runs to court seeking to overturn properties frozen by EOCO

0

Abdul-Wahab Hanan, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), has run to court seeking the High Court to overturn EOCO’s freezing of his properties.

According to Abdul-Wahab Hanan, EOCO acted in error of law and wrongfully tagged properties he either acquired before his appointment or does not own.

The Ex-Buffer Stock CEO argued that EOCO obtained the freezing order ex parte, contrary to his constitutional right to be heard, and without meeting the statutory requirements under sections 33–35 of the Economic and Organised Crime Act.

In his affidavit dated October 21, 2025 the Ex-Buffer Stock CEO listed,

“Three-bedroom house, GPS Address NS-056-9690, Kpalsi, Tamale

Uncompleted storey building, GPS Address NR-151-7759, Gumani, adjacent to Baobab Guest House, Tamale

0.27-acre plot, GPS Address NS-320-6111, Estate Junction, Dagomba Street, Tamale

0.29-acre plot, GPS Address NR-000-8199, Workers College, Tamale”, as properties wrongfully tagged to him before his appointment or does not own.

According to Citi News, the Ex-Buffer Stock CEO argued that, “EOCO acted unreasonably by freezing assets with no link to his time in office or any alleged offences. He identifies the three-bedroom house at Kpalsi as acquired in 2011 and completed in 2013, years before joining NAFCO. Hanan noted that the house hosted part of his Islamic marriage ceremony and argued it cannot be considered “tainted property” or linked to proceeds of any alleged wrongdoing.

Hanan further claims EOCO wrongly attributed ownership of two other properties to him: An uncompleted storey building at Gumani, in which he says he has no interest. A 0.27-acre plot at Estate Junction, Tamale, which he says belongs to Al-Qarni Enterprise

He added that the land was transferred in 2022 to OSGAF Furniture Enterprise, long before EOCO’s investigations began. He insists these properties were frozen without any legal or factual basis whatsoever”.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled,  Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, filed twenty-four criminal charges against the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and four others.

Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba and four others have been accused of offences involving stealing, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state.

The court documents filed at the Accra High Court mention Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, Faiza Seidu Wuni, Richard Sam-Asante (currently at large), The Aludiba Foundation, and Energy Partners Limited as the accused persons.

Hanan Abdul-Wahab and his wife, and three others, have been charged with multiple offences, including stealing, money laundering, and causing over GHC 300 million in financial loss to the state.

The five are facing 24 counts of various offences, which include “stealing, conspiracy, defrauding by false pretences, and the willful dissipation of public funds, in violation of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044)”.

The charge sheet filed by the AG alleged that Abdul-Wahab, as NAFCO CEO from February 2017 to February 2025, diverted over GH¢50.8 million of company funds under the guise of payments to a supplier.

Abdul-Wahab also transferred an additional GH¢5.49 million to his own company, Aludiba Enterprise, for the supply of food items to NAFCO.

Co-accused Faiza Seidu Wuni is alleged to have laundered more than GH¢13.2 million through her firm, Fa-Hausa Ventures, and caused a further GH¢4.4 million loss to the state.

The Aludiba Foundation and Energy Partners Limited, linked to Abdul-Wahab, have also been charged with receiving and laundering proceeds.

Also, Hannan Abdul-Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, have both been granted bail totalling GHS150 million in the Buffer Stock trial.

Hannan Abdul-Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, pleaded not guilty to 24 counts of stealing, defrauding by false pretences, intentional dissipation of public funds, money laundering, and using public office for profit.

Akyem Krontihene labels NPP flagbearer aspirants as “Sankwas Five”

0

Nana Boadi Amponim Obo-dade III, the Krontihene of Akyem Asuom in the Eastern Region, has fumed at the standard of individuals contesting for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer election.

According to the Akyem Krontihene, all five NPP flagbearer aspirants should be placed on one ballot to contest President John Mahama.

The Krontihene of Akyem Asuom further tagged all five NPP presidential aspirations as ‘the sankwas five’.

He added that the sankwas five cannot be compared to the NPP of Da Rocha, Victor Owusu, Kofi Busia, Prof Adu-Boahen, Peter Ala Adjetey, and J.A. Kufuor, Nana Boadi Obo-dade III.

He asserted that the NPP had significantly declined in terms of quality human resources.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, December 7, 2025, the Akyem Krontihene stated, “Look, the NPP of Da Rocha, Victor Owusu, Kofi Busia, Prof Adu-Boahen, Ala Adjetey, J.A. Kufuor – those men of value and integrity – are not what we have today.

I tell you without mincing words that the five people contesting to be flagbearers are just sankwas compared to those. I call them the Sankwas Five.”

“If President Mahama should decide to contest, this is how the scale would be: all the Sankwas Five; Dr Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyei, all five of them should not even go and choose one, they should be placed on one ballot paper against President Mahama. This is how the scale would be, all of them there and Mahama here” he said.

Meanwhile, in related NPP news, Musa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has revealed that, majority of NDC supporters prefer Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to be elected Flagbearer over Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He revealed the NDC respondents did not want Dr Bawumia to emerge victorious as the NPP’s presidential candidate in the January 31 presidential election.

The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, in a Facebook post sharing the findings, stated, “ The social media poll shows the majority of NDC voters and floating voters now prefer Kennedy Agyapong than Dr Bawumia, contrary to previous polling data.”

The Global InfoAnalytics results showed nearly 40% of NDC respondents said they preferred Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer, compared with 33% for Dr Bawumia and 14% for Kwabena Agyapong.

He further revealed that floating voters expressed similar preferences, with 38% opting for Kennedy Agyapong, while 32% chose Dr Bawumia.

In all the polls so far conducted by the Global InfoAnalytics, this is the only poll with Kennedy Agyapong leading Dr Bawumia.

Additionally, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), a Ghanaian satirist and anti-corruption advocate, has advised the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to move from brawn to brains.

According to KSM, being macho does not make you who you are, adding that the NPP must understand that Ghanaians have moved from brawn to brains.

Speaking on KSM UNFILTERED, hosted by Bridget Otoo, Kwaku Sintim-Misa stated, “We have moved from brawn to brain; it’s all brain work; it’s not about being macho that makes you who you are. The numbers don’t mean anything to me; they can be 76 in parliament, but if you hear the quality of the debate and argument, it will feel like it has an impact on a majority.

It’s time everyone understands that we are moving from brawn to brains. Let us use our brains”.

“Boycott 2028 elections and seek group counselling to fix your brain” – Rosemond Obeng advises NPP

0

Rosemond Obeng, a former aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and now Presidential Staffer under President John Mahama, has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to boycott the 2028 general elections.

The former aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia shockingly advised the NPP to boycott the election and seek group counselling to fix their brains.

According to Rosemond Obeng, her advice stems from the NPP still in shock with the 2024 election defeat, which she claims still haunts them.

Speaking on Angel TV, Rosemond Obeng stated, “I want to offer advice to the NPP in a humble approach. It seems the shock they had with the defeat in the 2024 elections is still haunting them, so I will recommend group counselling for them.

“Moreover, it would have been better if they boycott the 2028 general elections because while going through the counselling period to fix their brains, they would need more than four years to do that.

“That’s my little but humble advice I have for them,” she urged,

She added, “This could’ve been none of the business of the NDC, but we are much concerned about their state and for the sake of democracy as we look forward to administering the country with them.”

Rosemond Obeng asserted that the NPP needs to work on their brains because the party’s behaviour does not show they are seeking to reclaim power.

It must be noted that Rosemond Obeng was a former assistant to ex-NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and has since been appointed as a Senior Presidential Staffer by President John Mahama.

Rosemond Obeng, commonly known as “People’s Mother”, resigned from the NPP to join the NDC a few days before the December 2024 Election.

A few days before the December 2024 election, Rosemond Obeng launched a media campaign badmouthing her former boss after she defected to the then-opposition.

On GHOne’s “State of Affairs” program in late 2024, Rosemond Obeng stated, “We require crucial leadership, and I am aware that my father and former boss are unable to provide it. We get bad results, output, and performance from bad leadership”.

Meanwhile, in 2022, Rosemond Obeng posted on social media how his boss, Dr Mahamudu  Bawumia, helped her to pursue further studies and expressed appreciation to him.

Meanwhile, President John Mahama was elected after a significant victory with 6,328,397 votes representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his closest rival from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who secured 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61%.

Mahama administration seeking to erase Akufo-Addo gov’t legacy – Fatimatu Abubakar

0

Fatimatu Abubakar, the former Information Minister, has accused the John Mahama-led government of seeking to erase the legacy of the previous Akufo-Addo government.

Speaking on Movement TV, Fatimatu Abubakar stated, “What is happening under this administration is that they want to totally wipe out the legacy of the previous administration. They want to wipe it off, what I am seeing now with the first budget and the second budget, which will take us into the middle of the four-year term of the president”.

She further alleged that funds meant to support the 24-hour economy were instead used to purchase a private jet for the president.

“They are not going to do anything; nothing will happen, those looking forward to the 24-hour economy that is the money they are using to buy a jet. They are not going to reduce electricity tariffs.

These prosecutions and all the noise are keeping the Ghanaian media busy; they are keeping as busy, who cares about prima facie, even without the prima facie, we already knew of the outcome.

Even now, those who have not been to the law school, or have not been to court before, we all know about the outcome, because the politics are becoming too many, you don’t have to read the petition to hear the other side”, Fatimatu Abubakar claimed.

Some netizens reacting to Fatimatu Abubakar’s statement stated, “I don’t know how NPP folks think and the rationale behind it. They get one lie out there, then they continuously repeat the same with the hope that we will fall for it. Sadly, some do. This lie has been exposed yet, they hold to this straw cos the life of their party depends on it”.

“Even Nkrumah Legacy sef u guys wanted to erase”, a netizen added.

One more X user added, “Has there been anywhere or a point in her life that she speaks the truth? If a woman can be lying like this just because of politics, then I wonder what kind of person she is”.

Meanwhile, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, in a recent interview, has been criticising the Akufo-Addo administration.

According to Kufuor, Akufo-Addo rode on his achievements to win power, but caused the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections with his policies.

He revealed that the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. Implemented policies like the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), National Cathedral project and Power Distribution Services deal, which contributed significantly to the New Patriotic Party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.

Speaking in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, shared on X on December 6, 2025, former President Kufuor explained, “Before the 2016 election in which Akufo-Addo was elected, the campaign was built on my achievements”.

“Those achievements played a key role in his victory. The government started on a good note, but things changed after he assumed power.”

During the 2016 election, they rode on my achievements to win power, but after they came into government, things changed… They started very well, but when COVID-19 came, things began to shift. I will commend him for how he handled the COVID-19 pandemic, but afterwards, I didn’t understand many of the things they were doing.

Things like the bond market and the National Cathedral… They didn’t consult me. All I knew was that they were building it. I initially thought it was a private initiative, only to later realise they were using government resources. They even demolished the judges’ building for it, and yet they still couldn’t complete it. Also, with the PDS”, he said.

“Your reward is not just in appointments, but…” – Mahama tells disgruntled NDC members

0

President John Dramani Mahama, marking his first anniversary following his unprecedented election victory, one year on, has told disgruntled NDC members their reward is not just in appointments.

According to John Dramani Mahama, his NDC family should hold tight, as their reward for the 2024 election is not just in appointments, but the Ghana they are building together.

President Maham highlighted that he is building a Ghana where children will have opportunities, where justice prevails, and where hard work is rewarded.

In a post shared on social media reflecting on his December 7, 2025, Mahama stated, “To my NDC family, hold on tight. Your reward is not just in positions or appointments, but in the Ghana we are building together, delivering a Ghana where your children will have opportunities, where justice prevails, and where hard work is rewarded”.

President Mahama renewed his pledge to every Ghanaian of his commitment to building a Ghana for all.

According to John Mahama, his commitment to the #ResettingGhana agenda remains steadfast.

He added, “Today, I renew my pledge to every Ghanaian that we are building a Ghana for ALL our people, without discrimination, without exclusion, without favouritism. The Ghana We Want is not a dream deferred but a promise in progress.

My commitment to the #ResettingGhana agenda remains steadfast, and Vice President Naana Jane and our government will work every day to create opportunities, restore hope and rebuild trust in our institutions”.

Mahama further thanked Ghanaians, NDC executives and polling agents, saying, “A year ago today, on 7 December, Ghana spoke with one powerful voice.

As I reflect on that historic day, I am filled with profound gratitude and renewed determination.

I remember the anxiety, the hope, and the unwavering faith of millions of Ghanaians who stood in those voting queues, determined to reclaim our future.

Thank you, Ghanaians. You believed in the promise of a #ResettingGhana agenda. You trusted in our collective vision to ‘Build the Ghana We Want’

To the rank and file of the NDC, you were the heartbeat of this victory.

To our polling agents who stood guard at every polling station, you were our eyes and ears, our “own referees” as I called for. That clarion call to go to the polls with “our own referee’ was exactly what it needed to be. That was a strategy to demobilise the plans of the Electoral Commission and neutralise the ruling NPP’s calculated attempts to subvert the will of the people. Your vigilance turned the tide.

To our party executives, our election management team, our communications team, our operations team, our strategy team, and our campaign team, ayekoo! Your pre-election strategies laid the foundation for election-day tactics that proved unshakeable.

You anticipated every move, countered every scheme, and ensured that the voice of the people could not be silenced”.

“Funds meant for 24-hour economy diverted to buy presidential jet” – Fatimatu Abubakar alleges

0

Fatimatu Abubakar, the former Information Minister, has alleged that the John Mahama government has diverted funds meant for the 24-hour economy to buy a presidential jet.

According to Fatimatu Abubakar, the NDC government, after two budget readings, is not going to do anything meaningful.

Speaking on Movement TV, Fatimatu Abubakar stated, “They are not going to do anything; nothing will happen, those looking forward to the 24-hour economy that is the money they are using to buy a jet. They are not going to reduce electricity tariffs”.

She further alleged that the Mahama administration sought to erase the legacy of the previous NPP government.

They want to wipe it off, what I am seeing now with the first budget and the second budget, which will take us into the middle of the four-year term of the president”, she claimed.

Fatimatu Abubakar further alleged that all the noise about prosecutions in Ghana is a scheme by the NDC government just to keep the Ghanaian media busy.

“These prosecutions and all the noise are keeping the Ghanaian media busy; they are keeping us busy. Who cares about prima facie? Even without the prima facie, we already knew the outcome.

Even now, those who have not been to the law school, or have not been to court before, we all know about the outcome, because the politics are becoming too many, you don’t have to read the petition to hear the other side”, Fatimatu Abubakar alleged.

Additionally, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said the NDC government is buying a $60 million presidential jet with a bathroom and kitchen to bath and eat in the air.

According to Miracles Aboagye, the NDC government is insensitive as young nurses and teachers remain unemployed at home, but the government is prioritising buying a presidential jet.

In a post on X, Dennis Miracles Aboagye wrote, “The NDC Government is buying a presidential jet with a bathroom and kitchen to bath and eat in the air.

$60million Dollars for Hons. @S_OkudzetoAblak and @FelixKwakyeOfo1 to travel like Arabian kings.

Our young nurses and teachers remain unemployed at home because the Government doesn’t prioritise them.

Insensitivity!!”

It will be recalled, Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson’s during the 2026 Budget presentation in November revealed that the government plans to acquire four modern helicopters, one long-range aircraft, and one medium-range aircraft starting in 2026.

Presenting the 2026 Budget Statement to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Mr Forson stated, “The Ghana Air Force will be retooled. Beginning in 2026, the Government of Ghana will initiate procurement processes for the acquisition of four modern helicopters, one long-range aircraft, and one medium-range aircraft. These are expected to be delivered within four years, provided the procurement is finalised in 2026”.

Meanwhile, Parliament has approved a Sixty Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand United States Dollars (US$60,680,000.00) contract for the purchase of a Falcon 6X aircraft for the air force.

“You speak when it’s too late” – Prof Azar slams Kufuor following Akufo-Addo criticism

0

Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare, also known as Kwaku Azar, a legal scholar and governance advocate, has slammed former President John Agyekum Kufuor after he criticised the Akufo-Addo administration.

According to Professor Azar, Kufour admitted to not understanding the Akufo-Addo government, which he noted the former president was not alone.

He, however, quizzed why Kufour speaks when it’s too late.

In a Facebook post on December 7, 2025, he wrote, “Kufuor admits he didn’t understand NADAA’s leadership. He’s clearly not alone. But why do we speak when it’s too late?”

His comments follow: former President John Agyekum Kufuor, voicing his disappointment and frustration with the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

According to Kufuor, Akufo-Addo rode on his achievements to win power, but caused the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections with his policies.

John Agyekum Kufuor highlighted that the Akufo-Addo government started promising in 2016, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, the government performed poorly.

According to John Agyekum Kufuor, the Akufo-Addo government, after COVID, was doing things he did not understand.

Also, with the PDS”, he said.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor further touched on the NPP defeat in the 2024 election, “In 2016, we won the election with a landslide victory. In the 2020 elections, there were tensions which led to a hung parliament; the president got a majority, but it was a reduced majority. Then four years later, it should be that you cannot take the Ghanaian electorate for granted”.

He further advised the NPP to be united and true to themselves, adding that truth and transparency will help the party return to power.

“They should stay true to themselves. They may not all be friends, but since they are bonded by the party’s principles, when it comes to the work, we should present a united front. That is what Ghanaians want”, he added.

Kissi Agyebeng wrote to Adu Boahen demanding $40,0000 cash after clearing him – Kpebu

0

Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner, has claimed that the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, demanded a sum of US$40,000 from Charles Adu Boahen, a former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.

According to Martin Kpebu, the Special Prosecutor collected the money in exchange for dropping charges against Charles Adu Boahen.

Mr Kpebu highlighted that he has evidence to back his claims of corruption against Kissi Agyebeng.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue on Saturday, December 6, Mr Kpebu stated, “I want to show Ghanaians that I’m not scared. When Kissi Agebeng freed Adu Boahen, he wrote to him to bring him $40,0000 cash, after telling Ghanaians he had not committed any crime within his jurisdiction. What is your mandate to collect $40,000?”

He further accused a former Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, of engaging individuals to carry out a smear campaign against Samuel Atta Akyea to secure the parliamentary seat.

Mr Kpebu asserted that the current Abuakwa South MP, Dr Agyemang, was then facing a corruption complaint at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, adding that he evaded arrest because Kissi Agyebeng intervened.

He said, “[Dr] Kingsley Agyemang MP, now, used to be in charge of the Scholarship Secretariat [Registrar]. Corruption case against Kinsgley Agyemang was reported to OSP, and he was due for arrest to write his statement. But Kissi Agyebeng blocked the arrest and said Kingsley was his friend and was going to affect his chances of winning the primaries in the Abuakwa South”.

“He employed some people to do a smear campaign against Samuel Atta Akyea, former MP for Abuakwa South, in order to secure the seat. One of the guys has confessed to being promised two slots of scholarship,” he claimed.

In a separate interview, Martin Kpebu alleged that Kissi Agyebeng was handpicked by Gabby Otchere-Darko, the former Attorney General Godfred Dame and former President Akufo-Addo to do their bidding.

He further alleged, once again, that Kissi Agyebeng colluded with former Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta to allow him to travel out of the country.

Speaking to JoyNews on December 4, 2025, Martin Kpebu stated, “… The story remains that Kissi Agyebeng sat on his hands and allowed Ofori-Atta to run out of this country, when Ofori-Atta had five cases pending before Kissi Agyebeng, which leads to a reasonable suspicion of collusion.

In the past, Kissi Agyebeng had worked for Ofori-Atta, and also Kissi Agyebeng used to work for Gabby Otchere-Darko, who is related to Ofori-Atta,” he alleged.

He added, “We always have to mention because we are connecting the dots. Kissi Agyebeng was hand-picked because he’s close to Gabby Otchere-Darko, Godfred Dame and Akufo-Addo. He was hand-picked so that he would do their bidding. He wasn’t picked as an independent person.

Martin Amidu was the one who was picked as an independent person, and see how Martin Amidu stung Akufo-Addo as the mother serpent of corruption. So, Akufo-Addo said ‘No, henceforth I’ll pick somebody who will play ball with me,” Kpebu claimed.

Also, Martin Kpebu has said he will take up a public office in the near future.

Mr Kpebu highlighted that while he expects to be appointed to public service in due course, the OSP is not a position he dreams of.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, 6th December, he stated, “That is not the office I have dreamt about; it is clear that some day I will go into public office, it is very clear to me now, but not Special Prosecutor”.

He further added that he cannot be seeking to substitute Kissi Agyebeng when he is the one leading the charge for his removal as Special Prosecutor.

“Having led the charge in calling for him (Kissi Agyebeng) to go, I should not be the one to replace him,” he said.

‘I never supported Alan against Akufo-Addo in 2008’ – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has finally spoken about the long-circulating allegation in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate in 2008, which claimed he supported Alan Kyerematen over Nana Akufo-Addo.

It will be recalled that ahead of the NPP’s primaries, there were claims that then-President John Agyekum Kufuor preferred Alan Kyerematen over Nana Akufo-Addo to be his successor.

According to John Agyekum Kufuor, he never supported Alan Kyerematen against anybody, as he maintained neutrality in internal party contests.

He highlighted that the claims have survived for years despite having no factual basis.

Speaking in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, shared on X on December 6, 2025, Kufuor explained, “I never supported him against anybody. I didn’t give him anything to aid him go and defeat anybody.”

Former President Kufuor recounted in 2000, after the NPP’s victory, that he attempted to bring Alan into his government, but he refused him.

“When I contacted him to make him a Minister, he turned down the offer,” Kufuor added.

Also, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, in that same interview, vented his disappointment and frustration with the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

John Agyekum Kufuor highlighted that the Akufo-Addo government started promising in 2016, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, the government performed poorly.

According to John Agyekum Kufuor, the Akufo-Addo government, after COVID, was doing things he did not understand.

He revealed that the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. Implemented policies without consulting him.

The former President Kufuor added that Akufo-Addo’s leadership style contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general election.

Former President Kufuor explained. “During the 2016 election, they rode on my achievements to win power, but after they came into government, things changed… They started very well, but when COVID-19 came, things began to shift.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor further touched on the NPP defeat in the 2024 election, “In 2016, we won the election with a landslide victory. In the 2020 elections, there were tensions which led to a hung parliament; the president got a majority, but it was a reduced majority. Then four years later it should be that you cannot take the Ghanaian electorate for granted”.

“Akufo-Addo rode on my achievements to win power, but his policies caused NPP’s defeat” – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has voiced his disappointment and frustration with the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Meanwhile, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo admitted that Ghana’s debt restructuring under his government shattered lives.

Akufo-Addo revealed that the debt restructuring deeply troubled him and still does.

According to Akufo-Addo, the debt restructuring under the G20 Common Framework was the most painful chapter of his presidency.

Akufo-Addo noted that the programme offered short-term economic relief but came at a heavy social and human cost.

Speaking at the AU-EU High-Level Seminar in Brussels on Thursday, October 2, 2025, on the eve of the AU-EU Summit, Akufo-Addo stated, “I witnessed the suffocating grip of debt on our economy and on our citizens. This deeply troubled me and still does”.

“The most painful part was the impact on ordinary people. Pensioners, young people, and small investors saw their lives and livelihoods shattered,” he said.

According to a statement released by the GES, Joshua Vidzro has been ordered to step aside from his duties with immediate effect.

The GES highlighted that the development comes following allegations of the Headmaster’s involvement in sexual misconduct with some female students of Dzodze-Penyi SHS.

The GES directive issued on December 6, 2025, read, “Under instructions from the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, you are hereby directed by the Management of the Regional Directorate of Education to step aside from your position as the Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School with immediate effect.

The Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North is hereby directed to take charge of the administration and management of the School until further notice”.

In related news, the GES some weeks ago also interdicted yet another teacher for alleged sexual misconduct at the Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region.

Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor has been interdicted by the GES for alleged sexual misconduct involving a female student.

The GES, in a statement on Thursday, October 2, announced it had taken note of a viral video being circulated on social media implicating Mr Tibetor.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) declared the teacher’s conduct as unacceptable, unethical, and a violation of the professional teachers’ code of conduct.

Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor has been interdicted and barred from entering the school premises.

The statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Feny, highlighted the Service’s obligation to ensure discipline, professionalism, and child protection.

“Which serious business in this country can GH¢200,000 build?” – Richard Nii Armah Quaye asks

0

Richard Nii Armah Quaye, a Ghanaian businessman, has said GH¢100,000 or GH¢200,000 cannot build a serious business in Ghana.

The founder of RNAQ Holdings asserted that the money given to young entrepreneurs as seed capital is far too small to establish sustainable businesses that can grow Ghana’s economy.

He revealed that the government has increased cash prizes for winners of entrepreneurship competitions from GH¢20,000 and GH¢15,000 to GH¢100,000 and GH¢200,000, but the amount is still not enough to build a serious business in Ghana.

Speaking at the 2025 Entrepreneurs Forum in Accra, Richard Nii Armah Quaye stated, “Let’s ask ourselves this question. Which business or serious business in this country can a GH¢100,000 or GH¢200,000 build?.

Unless they are giving people money to go and do hawking or they are giving people money to buy an iPhone for themselves, or you are giving people money to set up a container or kiosk somewhere and continue all these nuisance businesses that most Africans are doing,” he stated.

He added, “But to set up a proper business, well-structured business, businesses that can bring innovative products, services that will solve problems in our society, that will create jobs and hold Ghana’s economy, you cannot do it with 100,000 cedis or 20,000 or 15,000.”

I went through that, I experienced it myself as a young entrepreneur growing up, that is why I established Quick Angels and positioned myself as an angel investor who does not want young people of this country with amazing talent to go through what I went through”.

Some netizens reacted to the comments made by Richard Nii Armah Quaye, saying, “Before you diss him, you have to realise that RNAQ through Quick Angels has funded over 30 startups, including Pizzaman, Pinkberry, Sankies Natural Spices, Ridge Medical Center etc.

When he says “business” he’s not talking about small-scale, small-corner businesses”.

Another X user added, “Thanks for sharing, but this video may lack some context. Looks like someone from the audience had asked him a specific question, and he was answering that question. I’d actually like to know the specific question he was asked that triggered this response”.

“Business is business, you don’t need to start a “serious business” before you can be called a businessman, you can operate a mobile money business with 100k, you can buy and sell accessories with 100k, small small, then you expand. Unless he’s talking about opening a factory”, a netizen added.

Additionally, one more Ghanaian wrote, “These guys should sometimes keep quiet when they don’t actually understand the other side of businesses that amount can start. 100,000 is way too much to start even two businesses when it comes to a food business. Their too much money blinding them off late. Sigh”

“For the sake of context, I get him. However, whatever business you want to do has to start small; you should learn to grow with or in your line of business. Always start small, no matter your capital. After a few years, when you know the ins and outs, then you can go big”, a netizen added.

“He is right. Well-structured and functional business won’t be possible with 100k unless a local startup that will take a long time to grow and become well structured”, he added.

A netizen added, “Yet some rich men we know always says they started their business with ridiculous amounts, like 50 cedis”

According to him, the executive jet would be seen as a symbol of a lasting partnership between our two nations if gifted by the Emir of Qatar.

Kwaku Azar in the post wrote, “The President touched down in Doha aboard a Qatar Airways Executive Jet graciously provided by the State of Qatar. He is in Doha to participate in the 2025 Doha Forum at the invitation of the Emir, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

“GOGO expresses sincere appreciation to the Emir for both the invitation and the generous provision of the executive jet. And, in the spirit of warm friendship and South–South cooperation, GOGO gently encourages the Emir to consider going one step further: donating the very same executive jet to the good people of Ghana, who would receive it as a symbol of lasting partnership between our two nations,” he wrote.

“GRA-SML deal was absolute loot; they all knew” – Senyi Hosi

0

Senyi Hosi, a Finance and economic policy analyst, has said former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, and seven others fingered in the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) revenue assurance contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) knew the deal was absolute loot.

According to Senyo Hosi, he and his partner were contracted to work on the project before SML got involved in the deal.

He revealed, Rev Ammishaddai told him Ken Ofori-Atta does not want anyone else doing what SML will be doing.

Speaking in a recent interview on Channel One TV, Senyo Hosi stated, “All of a sudden, Evans Adusei and co appeared. It started with Ofori-Atta; he was sick at the time, so he wasn’t at that EMT. DMB had directed that this thing be done so that we cure this problem immediately.

“Ken Ofori-Atta sends a message to my partner saying, ‘no, no, no.’ The next minute, Ammishaddai’s hands are cliffed. Bawumia has directed something, Ken Ofori-Atta has cancelled it without even consulting the EMT,” he said.

“There was no comparative analysis being done. The data was not being used for anything… They never used that system for analysis. They never brought that data to make meaning of even the data that was existing, and you were paying the people 24 million.

Fast forward as for our contract because of Ken Ofori-Atta Ammishaddai told me straight in my face, Ken doesn’t want anybody to do anything that SML also want to do. He is a pastor; he cannot lie to me. This is the matter I know where I was sitting when he told me”.

He added, “Ammishaddai knows that that contract was unholy. Ammishaddai knows that the contract was technically moot. Akori knows that the contract was technically moot. What’s his name, Soti? He also knows”.

“These people work around their own church elders… We are wicked people. This was absolute loot. They all knew.”

Meanwhile,  Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others’ case regarding the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) revenue assurance contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been adjourned to a later date.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) made this known in a statement on X on Monday, 24 November 2025, stating, “CR/0106/2026 Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta & 7 Ors.

This case has been adjourned as the Court would not sit on the originally scheduled date of 24 November 2025.

A new date will be communicated to the Republic and the Accused Persons”.

The eight suspects were supposed to be arraigned before the court in connection with the 78 charges filed against them in connection with the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) revenue assurance contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Meanwhile, Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has said the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is gambling with charges levelled against former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others in the SML case.

Lawyer Kpebu raised concerns over the charges filed by the OSP, describing the charges as questionable.

According to Lawyer Kpebu, he does not trust the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng after he allowed Ofori-Atta to escape the country.

Meanwhile, David Adjaye, the internationally acclaimed architect and designer of the National Cathedral, has broken his silence regarding the stalled project.

According to Architect David Adjaye, the National Cathedral project is not dead, although he feels the John Mahama administration might just want to trash it.

He asserted that the Mahama administration wants to understand the National Cathedral project through a forensic examination, so it is just on pause.

Speaking during a podcast interview with renowned British journalist Tim Abrahams, David Adjaye detailed, “No, it’s not dead. It is funny. I keep thinking this administration might just want to trash it, but I think there was a lot of misunderstanding in the beginning. Because the process was private in a way — it was government, but it was private. So I think there’s a sense with this administration of really understanding what is going on. It may not be a priority, but it is certainly …

“It is definitely a national project. Love or hate it, there’s something about this project which activates a sense of urgency about the infrastructure that’s required,” he added.

David Adjaye added, “We know this administration is careful, making sure that they have done their forensic examination. So that they can say whether they think there were bad practices or good practices.

“So far, it has passed its tests, but we know they’re still carrying on with forensic testing. But in the meantime, it’s on pause. It is just on pause,” he reiterated.

“Show evidence of a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration, and I would resign” – Sam George dares Bright Simons

0

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has dared Bright Simons, IMANI Africa’s Honorary Vice President, to provide evidence of his claimed sole-sourced contract for SIM registration.

Sam George boldly declared he is ready to resign as Communication Minister once Mr Simons provides evidence of a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration.

In a post on X on December 6, 2025, Sam George stated, “I just got back from a wonderful time with my Constituents at the second edition of the Ningo-Prampram In Worship.

Simple matter;

‘Policy Analyst’: The Minister has authorised a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration to a particular company. He is motivated by katanomics.

Minister: Show any evidence of a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration, and I would resign. He who alleges must prove.

‘Policy Analyst’: wywjskdkddbdkdbdnsnsmshsjsishsgeueksidnfdidbdkdbfdknfkrkrk

Dude, justify your claims or keep quiet. Cheers”.

In a subsequent post, Sam George expressed his disappointment with a categorical statement Mr Simons made, which claimed he authorised a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration.

He wrote, “I am highly disappointed to say the least. So, your categorical statements that I authorised a sole-sourced contract for SIM registration were based on hearsay? No fact, no evidence? Is this the ‘scholarly’ work you have been doing for 20 years?

Temperamental exchanges? Nah! C’mon. I am no docile being. I am called Dzata for a reason. Even the President referred to me as Dzata when he swore me into office. I roar. I don’t purr. Apologies if my roar ruffles your balance. I cannot diminish to make you comfortable.

Thanks for proving me right. The modus operandi of interest-driven mercenaries is to amplify the alleged grievances of others and run with them without proof or evidence, presenting them as fact. You claim you are embarking on this voyage to nowhere because some supposed colleagues of mine at the Ministry have reached out to you. I assume a wise person once said, ‘Birds of a feather flock together.’

Also, Bright Simon, in a separate post, revealed they will be filing an RTI request to gather more information about the whole SIM re-registration saga.

He stated, “We shall be filing RTI requests to gather more information about this whole saga, as you have refused to share the procurement plan and the solution architecture we requested, despite clearly having time on your hands to respond.

There are also several reports that keep coming out of your Ministry about you not taking advice from the experienced civil servants and technocrats there and in the agencies. We aim to learn more. Please respond to our RTI requests as expeditiously as you respond to posts on Twitter. Thank you in advance”.

The Communication minister, reacting to the post, stated, “ I was privileged to have worked on the RTI law as a Member of the oversight Committee. I know the law has safeguards against abuse and prescribes how to deal with the same. We will, by all means, respond to all requests that meet the threshold.

The point still remains, Bright, discerning Ghanaians read your initial post. You accused me of authorising a sole-sourced contract for a mushroom company called Transactly for SIM Registration.  That was your specific claim. You ended by suggesting it was driven by what you called KATANOMICS.

i. I have challenged you to put out any evidence of my direction for a sole-sourced contract.

ii. I have challenged you to put out even the cover page of a contract with Transactly, or for that matter, any other company for SIM registration.

iii. I have indicated my willingness to resign with immediate effect if you can produce any of these”.

Bright Simons ‘spells’ “create-loot-share” in SIM re-registration deal, chases Sam George for contract details

0

Bright Simons, IMANI Africa’s Honorary Vice President, over the past few days have been chasing the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, for more details concerning the SIM re-registration exercise.

The IMANI Africa Honorary Vice President, in his initial post, quizzed Sam George on three things regarding the fresh Nationwide SIM registration exercise to be rolled out by the first quarter of 2026.

He questioned, “Is this re-registration thing going to involve: Another sole-sourced contract? Citizens leaving precious work aside to join long, snaking queues? Another slew of errors, repeats, recalls, etc?

According to Bright Simons, Ghana has had multiple mass SIM card registrations that mysteriously never deliver a functional database, adding that this time around, they will protect Ghanaian time and resources.

He revealed he got a message that Sam George has authorised that the re-registration be given to Transactly.

In an X post on December 5, 2025, he wrote, “Ghana has had multiple mass SIM card registrations that mysteriously never deliver a functional database. Why? Because often the whole process is rushed, poorly planned, and poorly defined. You yourself agree wholeheartedly with this, correct?

Our goal this time around is to ROBUSTLY PREVENT YOU FROM WASTING THE PEOPLE’S TIME AND RESOURCES with another badly planned, poorly defined, and rushed mess.

Last time we looked closely to try and find out why these SIM card re-registration processes seem to lead to a mess (a mess you don’t deny), we found that sole-sourced procurement was a factor. A contractor without experience was inserted into the process, leading to a system that you now claim is a mess, hence the need to redo it.

This time, we intend to PREVENT the mess, or any excuse for a mess, before it even happens.

I got a message that you have authorised that a contract be given to Transactly in connection with the re-registration. As you yourself have admitted, you have no window for engagement with activists. Hence, the most efficient way was for me to ask for confirmation on Twitter/X”.

His post added, “You quickly recast the whole thing into a strawman that you think you can deflect, knowing very well that there are various agencies that could, in the end, enter into such contracts. Agencies like the NCA, the NIA, and even NITA. All of which you have very strong influence over.

I asked you for the solution architecture and any associated procurement plan, because those are the two documents that will TRULY debunk any hint of procurement motivation. As for the contracts, they can be handled by any agency within the architecture.

Us knowing how the solution you intend to launch within 3 months has been designed to ensure that the problems you claim bedevil the current database won’t recur would also show WHICH ACTORS will do what. I know you know exactly where I am going with this. You can put on a display of being angry with me for being “accusatory” when in fact we are pushing accountability in a scenario that HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST”.

Bright Simon highlighted that their motive is to ensure that no inexperienced companies are given the SIM re-registration contract.

He wrote further, “But for the benefit of some of your fans who don’t read, this is what our motive: WE AIM TO ENSURE THAT NO INEXPERIENCED COMPANIES ARE INSERTED INTO THE ARCHITECTURE TO DO WHATEVER. It doesn’t matter who in the government gives them the contract based on your push or someone else’s push.

You have refused repeatedly to stay on the issues and lay out the solution architecture and the role of contractors, including the one whose name was leaked to us. We aim to pursue you with RTIs to get to the bottom of the situation and update the public. That’s al”l.

Bright Simon further quizzed the Communication Minister on how the new approach will stop fraud and also improve on what the country already has.

“We also want to peruse the architecture to spot bottlenecks that will inconvenience citizens and cause the crazy confusion and distress that happened in previous rounds of these messy re-registration episodes. And lastly, we want to evaluate HOW EXACTLY your new approach will STOP FRAUD and improve on what we already have”, he added.

Bright Simon, in a separate post, revealed they will be filing an RTI request to gather more information about the whole SIM re-registration saga.

“I believe Martin Kpebu over the OSP” – Manasseh Azure

0

Manasseh Azure Awuni, an investigative journalist, has said he believes lawyer Martin Kpebu’s account of what transpired at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

According to Manasseh Azure Awuni, the OSP, which is supposed to be a citadel of integrity, has dented its credibility.

The investigative journalist argued that the OSP has been releasing inaccurate figures regarding the amount of money involved in the SML scandal.

Speaking during a panel discussion on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Manasseh explained, “I think I would believe Martin Kpebu over the OSP at this point. In the past, I would not have doubted information coming from the OSP, which is supposed to be a citadel of integrity. In your interview with Martin Kpebu, you mentioned that The Fourth Estate published a report stating that the SML investigation started in 2023 — that was an official report from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which many media houses published.

“I had no reason to believe or even suspect that such an honourable office might be lying in this report. Then, early this year, officials of that office reached out to me on the 29th of January 2025, and the call was to the effect that, ‘You petitioned our office to begin investigating SML. We are about to start the investigation, and we think it is proper that we understand the petition. There may be background information you have that is not in the petition or even in the documentary.’ So we scheduled a meeting, and that meeting came off on the 31st of January.

“There was a follow-up email from the officer leading the investigation at the time, and this email came on the 5th of February 2025. It said I should provide them with some information for, quote, ‘the preparatory process for the investigation’, and it was in line with the fact that they were about to begin,” he said.

He further reiterated, “It is difficult at this moment to just believe everything that they say”.

Meanwhile, an anonymous officer at the Office of the Special Prosecutor who witnessed the clash at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has given supposed details of the incident.

The female officer indicated that the clash started when the officers, whom Martin Kpebu identified as soldiers, cautioned him against going out to grant interviews after parking.

Speaking during a panel discussion on JoyNews’ NewsFile programme on December 6, 2025, the anonymous OSP officer stated, “When I was walking into the premises of the office, I noticed there was an interview being conducted by some guy from the media with Mr Kpebu. I got into the premises; the officer on duty let him know that it was being conducted quite close to the place, and then they asked him to move away. So I was still on the compound when he then walked in.

“Right at the gate, the men let him know that anytime he comes to the office, once he parks, he’s supposed to go straight to do his business — as in go straight to the reception — and that they don’t do things like this here. Now his (Kpebu’s) response was that he can do what he wants; they can’t tell him what to do. And these men kept insisting that you can’t do that here.”

She added, “Next thing I know, it’s escalating to insults. There was the F word being used. There were the other ones.”

The anonymous OSP officer insisted, “The verbal abuse — I heard it from Mr Kpebu. I heard Mr Kpebu use those words. He used the F word; he used the other insult. Aside from that, there was no physical abuse; it was the verbal abuse, which I heard from him”.

“What I can speak to is the fact that these men kept insisting that they don’t do that here. And his response was, ‘I can do what I want; you can’t tell me what to do.’ They stood their ground, saying the same thing to him. And then there was a flare-up,” she added.

“Mr Kpebu used the F word; he used the other insult” – Anonymous OSP officer speaks

An anonymous officer at the Office of the Special Prosecutor who witnessed the clash at the OSP has given supposed details of the incident which involved Martin Kpebu.

Meanwhile, Martin Kpebu, following his release from the custody of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (OSP), stated, “I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released”.

He revealed that his arrest stemmed from a verbal confrontation with a military officer stationed at the OSP.

Mr Kpebu recounted, “Then the next thing, the soldier said I am stupid, so I also turned and said he is also stupid, and so we exchanged words”.

“I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released,” he stated.

“Then a colleague of his, another soldier, shouted that next time I do that, I will see. In Ghanaian English, ‘you will see’ means he will cause me some harm, or there will be consequences, even if not physical.

So I turned and gave the same answer; he had no right. I’m not a suspect, and even if I was, could he do that? So I said he had no right”.

“Then the next thing I knew, he said I’m stupid. That’s what the soldier said. So I turned back and told him he is also stupid. We exchanged a few words, and then one of my lawyers pulled me so we could go in,” he added, stating he would never attack any officer who had done nothing to him.

He added that his arrest confirms that Kissi Agyebeng is incompetent.

“I will petition for his removal. I have 15 allegations against him,” he once again revealed.

“What they have actually done is that this is a suicide mission that Kissi Agyebeng’s OSP has embarked on. He can pretend he has nothing to do with it, but he is the head,” Kpebu stated.

“After COVID, I didn’t understand the things Akufo-Addo gov’t was doing” – Ex-President Kufuor

0

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has vented his disappointment and frustration with the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Speaking in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, shared on X on December 6, 2025, former President Kufuor explained. “During the 2016 election, they rode on my achievements to win power, but after they came into government, things changed… They started very well, but when COVID-19 came, things began to shift.

Also, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate in the 2024 elections, has admitted that the party’s defeat was partly due to a loss of trust between the government and the people.

According to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, after ten months of political reflection, he has come to the realisation that the Akufo-Addo government simply did not listen enough.

He asserted that the government had broken the trust between citizens, which led to the NPP’s humiliating defeat.

Napo explained that the government had to navigate severe global economic and health crises, which affected many countries and, consequently, the financial stability and savings of the citizens.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated, “One thing I’ve concluded in the last 10 months is that there was a broken trust between citizens to government. The trust that was broken hurt so much so that we saw the results so broken”.

“We didn’t listen enough, we assumed a lot of things we shouldn’t have assumed,” he admitted.

He added, “We had gone through the worst global economic climate, medically and economically or health-wise. A container from China that cost $1200 logistic-wise had risen to $14,000. People’s lifetime savings have been wiped out”

“People had died in their droves that had never been seen before, without a military crisis or World War. So a lot of things that happened.”

Napo stressed that the NPP’s biggest failure was not hearing the public early enough, and the failure paved the way for everything that followed.

See the fully furnished resting place for the late Akwatia MP, Ernest Kumi

0

A video of the final resting place of the late former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Ernest Kumi, has surfaced online.

The late MP Ernest Kumi was laid to rest in a fully furnished room with inscriptions of his initials, EK.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the viral video of the fully furnished resting place wrote, “This is a burial place befitting a legend.  Looks like the first of its kind”.

Another netizen added, “Herh! I’m speechless…… I’m sure someone in the family doesn’t even have a place to stay. Someone in that family really needs help. Families in Ghana would prefer to spend millions for a funeral, but the living are cast out of the family because of poverty”.

A netizen added, “God made man in such a way to forget our pain after we lose someone so dear to us, so if you furnish a place like this and keep the corpse, you’re always going to have a recurring pain. Even if you want to do it should be far away from home”

“So what happened to using that money to build a school or dig a borehole to honour that person? Isn’t this government money they used for all these?” a netizen quizzed.

“Oh! But this is incomplete.  They should have added. Dining table and chairs, a TV,  marble kitchen counter tops, bathtubs and a Jacuzzi.  Our society has gone mad., This is mediocrity, Nnkurases3m 100%”, a netizen added.

Meanwhile, Ernest Kumi died on Monday, July 7, 2025. He was serving as a first-term member of parliament after his victory in the 2024 elections.

He secured the seat for the NPP in a closely contested election marked by allegations of vote buying, irregularities at some polling stations, with his victory ending up in the court.

The lawmaker’s death comes just weeks after the Supreme Court overturned his contempt conviction related to the disputed 2024 parliamentary election results.

The late Ernest Kumi, in February 2025, was found guilty by the Koforidua High Court after he defied an interim injunction barring him from presenting himself for swearing-in as an MP.

The Koforidua High Court issued a bench warrant for his arrest, alluding to his failure to attend court hearings and his disregard for the court’s authority.

Also, Gary Nimako, the Director of Legal Affairs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed that the late Ernest Kumi wanted to resign from parliament.

According to Gary Nimako, Ernest Kumi intended to resign from Parliament just six days before his sudden death.

Speaking on Joy News on Tuesday, September 2, Gary Nimako stated, “Ernest Kumi said that he wants to resign from Parliament. Are you aware?

He said he was tired because of the harassment they were doing to him at the constituency. He was tired, he wanted to resign from parliament and go and stay at home,” Mr Nimako revealed.

“Kissi Agyebeng survived 2 assassination attempts, and I have been beaten by 17 policemen” – Sammy Darko

0

Sammy Darko, the Director of Strategy, Communication, and Research at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has revealed that the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has survived two assassination attempts.

According to Sammy Darko, the Special Prosecutor has survived two attempted attacks on his life, and he (Sammy Darko) was reportedly handcuffed and assaulted by seventeen police officers.

Sammy Darko is quoted by JOY NEWS to have said, “The Special Prosecutor has survived two assassination attempts, and I have been handcuffed and beaten by 17 policemen”.

Some netizens reacting to Sammy Darko’s revelations stated, “I’m hearing this for the first time. Kindly provide us with evidence of these assassination attacks, and to which security agencies have you reported these assassination attempts to?”

“How did he count the number of police men and why was it never reported? Masa, stop the lies. Your Boss should not hide behind fabricated stories. If he can’t handle the heat, he should resign. It is the Honourable thing to do just as Martin Amidu did”, a netizen quizzed.

One more netizen added, “Office of special excuses and tactical inconsistencies. Manesseh has provided all the evidence. No reason to keep Kissi. Sack him now”.

Meanwhile, Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has said Ghana cannot continue to allocate huge sums to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) when the country is not getting the results.

According to Speaker Bagbin, the Office of the Special Prosecutor was created to prove a point that it was prepared to tackle corruption.

He further questioned the constitutional basis of the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

Speaking during a debate in Parliament on Thursday, November 4, 2024, Speaker Bagbin stated, “If you recall, during the deliberation on the OSP, a number of us stated on the floor of this House that it has no constitutional basis, but we wanted to signal to the world that we are going to fight corruption”.

“At the end of the day…we cannot continue to allocate huge sums to the same office when we are not getting the results. This is one of the agencies we should be looking at,” he remarked.

His remarks follow the ongoing back-and-forth between Martin Kpebu and the Special Prosecutor over his handling of corruption-related cases in the country.

Also, details have emerged of the three petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

In one of the petitions filed by the Coalition for Integrity in Governance (COFIIG) accused Kissi Agyebeng of incompetence, financial mismanagement, conflict of interest, and negligence of duty.

The group alleged that Kissi Agyebeng mismanaged public funds allocated to the Office of the Special Prosecutor since 2021, highlighting that over GHS364 million in budgetary allocations were made without any publicly available audited financial statements.

The group also accuses the Special Prosecutor of poor performance, pointing to the absence of major corruption convictions or significant asset recoveries despite the resources at his disposal.

COFIIG petition further references alleged misbehaviour, noting claims that the Special Prosecutor withheld investigative dockets from the Attorney-General, delaying the extradition process of former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

A second petition received by Shamima Muslim, the Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, on behalf of President Mahama, filed by Apostle Abraham Lincoln Larbi of the Agro Ne Fom’ protestors, alleged that Kissi Agyebeng connived with Ken Ofori-Atta to help him evade accountability and accused him of refusing to submit the docket needed for the extradition of Ken Ofori-Atta to the Office of the Attorney General.

According to reports, the third petition also focuses entirely on the SML matter, alleging that the Special Prosecutor allowed Ken Ofori-Atta to flee, failed to use his police powers to arrest him.

The petition also accused the Special Prosecutor of lying about attempts to seek support from security agencies.

Personnel of the Akuse Local Prison in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality have been left in a devastating shock and grief.

Meanwhile, the Akuse District Police Command has launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths of two female prison with details of how the incident occurred remain unclear.

In related accident news, Nicholas Aklorbotu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, has died in a motorcycle accident.

“Haruna Iddrisu and Ablakwa fighting gidigidi over NDC 2028 running mate slot” – Adom-Otchere

0

Paul Adom-Otchere, the host of Good Evening Ghana and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), has said that Haruna Iddrisu and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa are fighting over the NDC 2028 running mate slot.

According to Paul Adom-Otchere, both Haruna Iddrisu and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa want to be the running mate of the current vice president, Prof Opoku-Agyemang.

Speaking on his Good Evening Ghana programme on December 3, 2025, Paul Adom-Otchere alleged, “Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Education, and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, are fighting ‘gidigidi’.

Haruna Iddrisu speaking at Mawuli Secondary School, for their 75th anniversary, and he said that you cannot keep your hair and come to school, you remember that sparked the debate surrounding to keep the hair or not to keep the hair”.

He added, “The foreign minister,  Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, goes to his former school, hasn’t been invited as the guest speaker; he is part of the government, so he did not have to contradict the Education Minister. It was wrong for him to if I am Chief of Staff, he is the one I will punish.  One minister spoke about it, even if it is not a government position, another minister should not go public against it.

Weeks down the line, Ablakwa comes to say the opposite, and in doing so, talks down to people whose hair is important. So, the Minister for Foreign Affairs is telling the Education Minister that his ridiculous analysis of short hair and having correlation to discipline, he does not understand it”.

Adom Octhere added, “Haruna Iddrisu is fighting with Ablakwa, and Ablakwa is also fighting with him as a political news reporter. I know why they are fighting. It’s for a very big prize, and they will not be fighting if the prize is not big. The tussle for VEEP in the NDC is what they are fighting about; both of them want to be the next Vice President if the NDC were to win in 2028, and they both want to be Vice President for the same Presidential candidate.

Prof Jane Naana has long had an excellent relationship with Ablakwa in Mahama’s first term. When she became Minister of Education, Ablakwa was her deputy, so during the first Mahama term, they forged such a tight alliance as deputy and boss.

Then, Haruna Iddrisu was working in the Trade. This vice president is close to Ablakwa and has come into the saddle. They won the election, and he is the vice president. Ofosu Ampofo hears that Johnson Asiedu Nketia, his nemesis in the NDC, is running for president, and he does not want that to happen, saying Madam is more competent than the party chairman.

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and Alex Segbefia are pushing Prof Jane Naana and Ablakwa’s work to gather the Volta Region for the vice president”, he added.

Meanwhile, Paul Adom-Otchere had earlier stated that President John Mahama has identified Ato Forson and John Jinapor as his preferred NDC candidates for the 2028 elections.

According to Adom-Otchere, John Mahama is backing Ato Forson following his performance in handling the Ghanaian economy as Finance Minister.

Adom-Otchere described the ticket of Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and  John Abdulai Jinapor as the president’s ticket.

Speaking on his Good Evening Ghana show on October 31, 2025, Adom-Otchere alleged, “This is President Mahama’s ticket, from what we are hearing, Cassiel Forson, the finance minister… He’s been told that if he continues doing what he’s doing until the end of next year, he will be the anointed choice of John Mahama as the next flagbearer of the NDC”

Who is going to be his running mate, our good friend John Jinapor, member of parliament and minister for Energy. The two ways the NDC want to say they are doing well in government are one of them, energy, and the other is finance”.

He added, “Ato Forson will tell you that the cedi was 17, it is now 10, it’s a feather in his cap. He will tell you gold reserves have improved and petroleum prices have been stabilised”.

He further alleged that Cassiel Ato Forson has his eyes set on becoming the leader of the NDC.

“Cassiel Ato Forson is firmly focused on becoming the leader of the NDC, the presidential candidate of the NDC, going forward to the 2028 election, and his running mate is John Jinapor.

“John Jinapor, they call him ‘JJ’ in Parliament, and he’s the deal. The two of them, Ato Forson and Jinapor, are the president’s ticket. Forget about everything else,” Adom-Otchere asserted.

“If you think I have defamed you, sue me” – Martin Kpebu dares Kissi Agyebeng

0

Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner, has dared the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agybeng, to sue him if he thinks he has defamed him.

Lawyer Kpebu challenged Kissi Agyebeng to sue him in court for defamation rather than using police powers to arrest him.

He made these remarks speaking on TV3 Key Point on December 6, 2025,  saying, “ If (Kissi Agyebeng) thinks I have defamed you, sue me in court and not use your police powers to arrest me”.

Meanwhile, Martin Kpebu has revealed his interest in the Special Prosecutor job.

According to Martin Kpebu, he would gladly accept the Special Prosecutor as he would be a perfect fit for the role; however, the ongoing tension with Kissi Agyebeng would create the perception that he orchestrated his removal to take the role for himself.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen on Thursday, December 4, 2025, Kpebu stated, “Ideally, if not because of the fight between Kissi Agyebeng and me, I would have gladly

accepted to be the SP, but people would think I asked for his removal so that I can take charge.”

He added, “I would have been a perfect fit for the position if the president thought so and Ghanaians agreed.”

Musa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has revealed that, majority of NDC supporters prefer Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to be elected Flagbearer over Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Meanwhile, the Global InfoAnalytics latest poll has revealed that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia continues to dominate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

The Global InfoAnalytics revealed that the poll was conducted between 17th and 21st November 2025 among 3,500 delegates across all 16 regions.

The poll, however, shows that Dr Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong’s support has slightly declined since October.

Global InfoAnalytics’ likely voters’ model indicated that, “Dr Bawumia: 42.7%, Kennedy Agyapong: 17.7%, Dr Bryan Acheampong: 4.6%, Dr Yaw Adutwum: 0.3%, and Kwabena Adjei Agyapong: 0.3%”.

The poll revealed that Dr Bawumia leads in 13 regions, with Kennedy ahead only in the Volta region, with the Central region tied.

Meanwhile, Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director, Global Info Analytics, has made a bold call that Kennedy Agyapong will win the Volta Region in NPP’s presidential primaries, Dr. Bawumia will win in the Eastern Region.

In related NPP news,  they have revised its constitution following the party’s miserable 2024 election defeat.

According to the NPP, the amended constitution is to address the factors that contributed to the party’s loss.

The General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, attributed the party’s defeat to member neglect and a breakdown in communication strategy.

Speaking at the launch of the amended constitution on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Justin Kodua Frimpong stated, “Many of the issues that culminated in our loss in the 2024 election have been addressed in this amendment”.

We all know that one of the reasons why we did not get the needed vote to win the election was voter apathy, and it also stemmed from the fact that there were several former party executives who felt that they were neglected.

“But in our current constitution, we have expanded our electoral college to make room for our former executives at the district level and the national level to have a voting right. All of these are to address the issue of apathy in our party.”

He added, “Another reason why we lost is that many people criticised our party’s communication. We had done so much, but we were not communicating them, and there was no coordination among the various communication directors”.

Justin Kodua added that the amendments reflect lessons learned from the 2024 elections and aim at strengthening the party structures.

“I will go into public office, but OSP is not the office I dream about” – Martin Kpebu

0

Martin Kpebu, a Private legal practitioner, has said he will take up a public office in the near future.

Also, Mr Kpebu had said he would gladly accept the Special Prosecutor as he would be a perfect fit for the role; however, the ongoing tension with Kissi Agyebeng would create the perception that he orchestrated his removal to take the role for himself.

His comments come on the back of his release from the custody of the officer of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (OSP).

Speaking to TV3 shortly after his release, Lawyer Kpebu stated, “I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released”.

“Bawumia has allowed partisan issues to crowd his intelligence” – KSM

0

Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), a Ghanaian satirist and anti-corruption advocate, has said, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has allowed partisan issues to crowd his intelligence.

According to KSM, Dr Bawumia’s statement about when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you is true, but Dr Bawumia that statement only implied to the NDC when they were in government, which was wrong.

He added, “My thoughts on Bawumia: he has allowed partisan issues to crowd his own intelligence.  The statement he made, which we still laugh at him for, is that when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you; it is true.

His truth was that it was only true when the NDC was in power. But it doesn’t matter who was in power; his truth was that when the NDC was in power, that is when the fundamentals were weak. That is where he got it wrong”.

He further added, “But he has apologies, when asked by Bridget Otoo if he believes Dr Bawumia’s apology, KSM stated, “No, the apology is politics. The NPP needs to shift from brawn to brains”.

It will be recalled, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia rendered an unqualified apology to Ghanaians for the way they led and governed the country.

The former vice president was speaking to some party faithful in the Ashanti Region as part of his regional tour of uniting and re-energising the base of the party.

Dr Bawumia, who did not exempt himself from the mistakes of the previous government, pleaded for forgiveness on behalf of all those who were part of the erstwhile Akufo-Addo-led government.

“After the 2024 elections, we have done our research. We know the NPP government and the party made a lot of mistakes in governance. There were things we needed to do which we didn’t, and others we did that, if we had had the benefit of background, we would not have done them,” he said.

He stressed that the blame was not his alone but a collective responsibility of the party’s leadership. “We are all to be blamed – Vice President, Ministers, MPs, Board Chairmen, appointees. We have all made mistakes, and please forgive us. We’re sorry. We have learned our lessons,” he added.

Dr Bawumia assured delegates that, if given the mandate as flagbearer and subsequently elected President, he would ensure that the past would not be repeated.

“If, by the grace of God, you make me the flagbearer and I become the President, these will not happen again. They will not happen again,” he pledged.

NDC communicator, Nicholas Aklorbotu dies in motorcycle accident

0

Nicholas Aklorbotu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, has died in a motorcycle accident.

Reports suggest the late Nicholas Aklorbotu was recently appointed as the regional monitoring and evaluation officer for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

According to the information gathered, the tragic accident occurred on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The late Nicholas Aklorbotu was reportedly returning home for the weekend when he suddenly ended up in a motorbike accident involving three motorbikes.

A post by Sogakope Updates on Saturday, December 6, 2025, read, “Sadly, he was involved in a severe motorcycle accident that included three other bikes. During the crash, one of the motorcycles was carrying extra fuel along with a passenger.

“This extra fuel ignited, causing a fire. The resulting blaze completely destroyed Hon. Aklorbortu’s bike, burning it beyond recognition. Tragically, one other person died at the scene of the accident. The unfortunate accident took place around Adaklu”.

Also, a month ago, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost Kofi Wayo.

The news was confirmed by Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon Edem Agbana, who shared a heartfelt message announcing the loss on his official Facebook page.

Reports of Kofi Wayo passing a leading member of the NDC’s youth activist were shared on social media on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Edem Agbana, who confirmed the news through a post on Facebook, wrote,  “Wayo, you have left me completely broken and devastated. Oh death is wicked”.

According to reports, Wayo was unwell and was hospitalised recently.

The late Kofi Wayo was an activist in the NDC. He was also known to have been actively involved in student politics.

He played key roles in the affairs of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) and other student bodies.

A post on Facebook stated, “Rest in power and rest in peace, Kofi Wayo! I teased you the last time we met at Loggia, but I didn’t know you had been hospitalised for ill health until I spoke with Ascorbic just last week. Till we meet again, be accepted in the bosom of our good Lord brother! This one got me to let loose; emotions got me!”.

Another friend of the late Kofi Wayo wrote, “Kofi Wayo Central was really suffering, Comrades, a lot was going on. Show your loved ones you love them now, not later..! Some Comrades are really suffering. My Brother, my groomsman, my comrade, how are we going to do the Fante Confederation 2026 without you? The agenda D4WD4U..!!! Aaah, Kofi, this goodbye hits different. You didn’t tell me this last week”.

Another tribute stated, “Too much of a cruel world to hold on to anything. Kofi Wayo, I can’t stop thinking about how many times I will tease you on appointment and debate you right from student activism to party politics. This is painful. Too young to say goodbye”.

“Kennedy Agyapong cannot be tamed; he will slip back to his old self” – KSM

0

Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), a Ghanaian satirist and anti-corruption advocate, has said the NPP presidential candidate hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, cannot be tame.

KSM noted that Kennedy Agyapong is running to become president of Ghana, so he has adapted his character; however, he added that the former Assin Central MP cannot be measured and he will slip back to his old self soon.

Speaking on KSM UNFILTERED, hosted by Bridget Otoo, Kwaku Sintim-Misa explained, “Well, he is running for president, so he has to adapt to a new phase, so that is a new face now, as to whether that phase is sustainable, will he be that or not? That is the question for all Ghanaians to know and decide.

When asked if Ken Agyapong is capable of being measured or tame, he added, “No, you can’t tame him; he can be melo for a while and tolerate things for a while, but it will get to a point where he will say he is tired because that is not him. After a while, he will just slip back.

KSM noted that Kennedy Agyapong’s biggest mistake was joining Dr Bawumia’s campaign after his primary defeat.

“If Kennedy Agyapong had not campaigned for Dr Bawumia, he would have been more believable. After all the noise he made, he still campaigned for him”.

Also, Samuel Atta Akyea, the former New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, has once again fired shots at Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the party.

According to Samuel Atta Akyea, nobody has invented any story about Kennedy Agyapong, as things he said in the past are being used against him.

Atta Akyea further noted that Ken Agyapong is someone one cannot advise, as whatever he wants to do, he will do even in public.

The former MP added that Kennedy Agyapong cannot hide his condition by faking his character forever.

Speaking in an interview with Adom FM, shared on Facebook,  Samuel Atta Akyea stated, “The person you want to become the flagbearer is not someone you can advise. Whatever Ken, who was my classmate in Adisadel, says he will do, he will do it; you can’t stop it. He would even do it in public for people to record it.

“So, nobody has invented any story about him. His actions that have been recorded, the things he says, the pastors who have been insulted, the leaders who were insulted, all these things are not the invention of Atta Akyea. They are things he has said,” he said.

He added, “If you have diarrhoea and you take medication, it does not mean it (the diarrhoea) has stopped… You cannot fake the condition you are in. So, if you are having a running tummy, and you go and take medication, the diarrhoea will not stop. That is what we are seeing now.

“Some of the things Ken said are coming out, and people are running. People have quit on some of the issues about Ken; more could even come out,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has said he has endured all the insults and attacks in silence because of party unity.

The former Assin Central MP warned that the day he chose to speak, Ghanaians would know that there are real men in the NPP.

“NPP needs to shift from brawn to brains” – KSM

0

Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), a Ghanaian satirist and anti-corruption advocate, has advised the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to move from brawn to brains.

He further asserted that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has allowed partisan issues to crowd his intelligence.

According to KSM, Dr Bawumia’s statement about when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you is true, but Dr Bawumia that statement only implied to the NDC when they were in government, which was wrong.

He added, “My thoughts on Bawumia: he has allowed partisan issues to crowd his own intelligence.  The statement he made, which we still laugh at him for, is that when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you; it is true.

He further added, “But he has apologies, when asked by Bridget Otoo if he believes Dr Bawumia’s apology, KSM stated, “No, the apology is politics. The NPP needs to shift from brawn to brains”.

However, Minority Leader, Afenyo-Markin, has boldly stated that the NDC majority in parliament cannot match the NPP minority when it comes to debating on the floor of parliament.

Afenyo-Markin highlighted that while the majority holds the numerical advantage, the minority excels in terms of content and consistently delivers high-quality submissions.

According to Afenyo-Markin, the majority caucus having sleepless nights tells him that his caucus is doing something right.

The minority leader asserted that he might not like the way the majority leader is doing things, but that is his method that he has adopted.

Speaking on Asaasepa FM, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Seeing the heat from us, I think it is his own strategy of also keeping up. I don’t see it personally. I have been a majority leader before, and I wouldn’t have adopted that approach, but it is his style. I can sit here and condemn him.

I don’t need to be comfortable with it, but I also don’t give him comfort because what he is doing tells me and my caucus that we are effective. The fact that the Majority is having sleepless nights tells me that we are doing something right”.

“In the chamber, strength exists only in numbers in favour content favours us. I am saying that in the chamber, when a headcount is being conducted, they have the numbers, but when it comes to the work in parliament and sharing ideas, they cannot compete with us; they know that.

When it comes to debating, they do not come to our level”, he added.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revised its constitution following the party’s miserable 2024 election defeat.

According to the NPP, the amended constitution is to address the factors that contributed to the party’s loss.

“Nana Konadu’s low-class funeral painful and wicked” – Adomako Baafi slams NDC

0

Yaw Adomako Baafi, the former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to honour the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, properly.

According to Yaw Adomako Baafi, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ funeral was low-class, painful and wicked due to her significant contributions to the NDC.

He claimed that the publicity surrounding the funeral of the late Nana Konadu was so minimal, adding that many Ghanaians are not aware that she had been buried.

Speaking in an interview on Movement TV on December 5, 2025, Adomako Baafi stated, “See Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ funeral. Till date, people don’t even know that she is dead and has been buried. What the NDC has done to the woman is painful. If there is life after death, she would think twice. They didn’t even do posters for the funeral”.

Adomako Baafi further compared the situation to preparations for the burial of highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

According to him, at Daddy Lumba’s funeral, there were a number of posters and billboards already circulating even before his funeral.

He added, “Look at Lumba, his funeral is not even up yet, but look at the number of posters and billboards in town. But Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings did not get that publicity.”

“Compare her funeral to that of her late husband when Akufo-Addo was President, the kind of honour they gave him. So, what wrong did she do? If nothing at all, the Greater Accra NDC could have mobilised members to attend. The low-class funeral they did for her was painful. So wicked. Even her own child is part of the NDC.”

Meanwhile, thousands of Ghanaians on November 28, 2025 bid a final farewell to the country’s longest-serving First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

The late First Lady’s state funeral took place at the Black Star Square yesterday.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ state burial ceremony was organised under the auspices of President John Dramani Mahama.

The state burial honoured Mrs Rawlings for her remarkable dedication and significant contributions to the promotion of women’s and children’s rights, as well as her service to national development.

The late First Lady passed away in the early hours of Thursday, 23 October, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

She served as Ghana’s longest First Lady from 1981 to 2001 as the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Serving from June 4, 1979, to September 24, 1979, under the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC).

Also from December 31, 1981, to January 6, 1993, under the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), and also during her husband’s two constitutional terms from January 7, 1993, to January 6, 2001.

She also created the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) in 1982, a movement created to empower women in Ghana through initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, education, and political participation.

“If Mahama appoints Lordina Mahama as EC boss, it would be far better than Jean Mensa” – NPP’s Masawudu

0

Third National Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Osman Masawudu, has weighed in on the petitions seeking the removal of  Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa and her deputies.

According to Osman Masawudu, President John Mahama’s appointing his wife, Lordina Mahama, as EC boss would be far better than Jean Mensa.

Speaking on Top TV, Masawudu, “The EC boss and his deputies, if the NDC is even bringing Lordina Mahama to become EC boss, it’s better than Jean Mensa.

If John Dramani Mahama appoints his wife, Lordina Mahama, as the next EC boss in Ghana, it’s better than Jean Mensa being seen as the EC boss,” he said.

He further fired shots at Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, saying a deeper word than incompetence should be used to describe him.

Also, Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has launched a scathing attack on the Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa following the seven petitions seeking her removal.

Nana Yaa Jantuah highlighted that Jean Mensa, as the EC Chairperson, misbehaved and sidelined political parties.

According to Nana Yaa Jantuah, whether Ghanaians like it or not, Jean Mensa misbehaved, and her conduct undermined the confidence in Ghana’s electoral process.

The Presidential Staffer noted that stakeholders expected professionalism and fairness when Jean Mensa took office from Charlotte Osei, but she turned into something else.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Nana Yaa Jantuah stated, “Let’s be very truthful, Jean changed. I was in IPAC, and even though I wasn’t happy with Charlotte and how she was treated, I was okay when I heard Jean was going to take over because of IEA. So we saw her as maybe a very strict person, somebody who was astute and credible, but it turned out to be something else.”

“If you talk about misbehaviour, she misbehaved; Jean did not do well. We have so many examples. You can take a case to court; Jean doesn’t care. Issues that we as political parties are not happy about—we will take them to court, and Jean doesn’t even care. We want to have a discussion with her on matters pertaining to elections; she doesn’t care.”

“It’s not that I’m bringing her down, but that is the truth,” she said.

Mrs Jantuah added, “I used to make excuses for her. I even thought that she was being… she looked so afraid. I also thought that somebody was pushing her around. She had all these military men around her. I didn’t see that around Afari-Gyan; I didn’t see that with Charlotte. But in her case, she was always jittering, as if shaking.”

“In 2024, political parties had already announced their results, yet hers wasn’t out. I’m neither NPP nor NDC, but I commend former President Bawumia—he came out quickly. If he didn’t have the mechanism to get the results, how was he going to concede? Meanwhile, Jean took almost five days.”

“Jean has misbehaved, whether we like it or not. She’s done certain things. There were times that even the NPP in IPAC were not happy with her”, she added.

Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Government Communications Minister, has revealed that the petition to remove the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng now rests with the Chief Justice.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, the process has left the hands of President John Dramani Mahama, adding that he believes Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie will act in accordance with Ghanaian law.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu is quoted by Joy News to have said, “Every process that is needed to be done has been undertaken. The process for doing so is quite clear. At this stage, the process has left the hands of the president beyond conveying the petitions to the Chief Justice.

There’s little else that the president does in this particular instance. Everything now rests with the Chief Justice, who, I believe, will act in accordance with Ghanaian law”.

“The whole of Ashaiman should be demolished” – Retired town and country planner

0

Retired town and country planner, Mrs Justina Ruby Anipa, has the whole of Ashaiman should be demolished needs to be demolished.

According to her, Ashaiman was not planned, adding that the place was planned by the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) as a dormitory town for the workers who were building the Tema Harbour.

She asserted that Ashaiman needs to be demolished for it to be fixed and rebuilt.

Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, Mrs Justina Ruby Anipa stated, “Ashaiman wasn’t planned. It was planned by TDC. At that time, Ashaiman was a dormitory town for the workers who were building the Tema Harbour. Dormitory town, meaning when they worked in Tema, they went to sleep there”.

When asked by Kafui Dey if Ashaiman can be fixed despite its poor planning, she insisted, “You have to demolish the whole place to refix it,” she noted.

The Retired town and country planner added, “The land itself is low-lying, so if you want to go vertically, you have to have your foundation very deep. Accra, we are low-lying, but people are doing it now.

She further pointed out that parts of Accra are within earthquake-prone zones, which present additional risks.

“Accra itself has an earthquake zone passing through certain portions of it, so we have problems. The 1939 earthquake affected parts of the beach area, and small shocks still occur. These are warning signs. Then there’s the Weija area, McCarthy Hill, Weija. That’s also an earthquake zone,” she said.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the video stated, “The Ashaiman boys ankasa no go gree say make them fix the place aswaer”.

“Normally, slum communities are built as a working force for a project, and after, they work for the rich as security men, drivers and the like.

Many have a low salary range; the funny thing is, their kids continue the same cycle in a more special way. Few escape poverty”, a netizen added.

“She speaks sense, and whoever is against that lacks knowledge”, a netizen added.

“Which part of Ashaiman are they talking about, Ashaiman big o?”, a netizen quizzed.

“Especially if we have a good start against Panama, from there we can continue,” he added.

Also, England head coach Thomas Tuchel has said the Three Lions of England must be fully prepared for a demanding group challenge.

Thomas Tuchel, “Difficult group with Croatia and Ghana, two regulars in World Cups and two proud and strong nations.

Panama, I don’t know much about Panama at the moment, but we will find out about it before the tournament starts, of course.”

However, England will be among the favourites to progress from group L.

Additionally, Legendary Black Stars former captain, Asamoah Gyan, has reacted to Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup draw after being paired with Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L.

Asamoah Gyan, who was at the event held in Washington, noted that the Black Stars’ World Cup group is very tricky.

According to Asamoah Gyan, all the countries in the group are good and will take work to qualify.

He asserted that Ghanaians back home want the Black Stars to qualify, and they will do their best to qualify.

Speaking during the event, Asamoah Gyan stated, “I think it is a very tricky group and all four teams want to qualify. Everybody back home wants Ghana to qualify, so we will do our possible best to qualify”.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars of Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on 17 June before meetings with England and Croatia.

In related news, Myriam Monrat, the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, has called on Ghanaians planning to travel to Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to submit their visa applications as soon as possible.

The Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana revealed they are working with their co-hosts to ensure a seamless experience for visitors.

Speaking regarding the preparations for the World Cup, Myriam Monrat stated, “We are working very closely with our colleagues in the US and Mexico to ensure cohesion and coherence in how we approach the World Cup”.

“My advice for people interested in attending the World Cup is to submit their visa applications as early as possible. The best way is to go directly to the source to avoid scammers.

“Our objective is to ensure the process is as smooth as possible. We anticipate high demand, hence my recommendation to put in an application as soon as possible,” she added.

In related news, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reminded football fans ahead of the 2026 World Cup tournament in the U.S that their match-day ticket are not visas.

According to Marco Rubio, match day tickets do not guarantee football fans admission into the U.S.

He revealed that the US will prioritise visa interviews for ticket-holding fans.

Rubio noted that fans who secure priority status could get an interview date within six to eight weeks, instead of waiting many months.

The last two World Cups in Russia (2018) and Qatar (2022) saw a match ticket automatically generate a Fan ID used like a visa; the US, however, will not adopt the same system.

Speaking at the White House on Monday, Marco Rubio stated, “Your ticket is not a visa; it doesn’t guarantee admission to the US,” Rubio said. “We’re going to do the same vetting as anybody else would get. The only difference here is we’re moving them up in the queue.”

He made this known during the announcement of the new FIFA Prioritised Appointment Scheduling System (PASS).

Opanyin Adusei, 82, crowned 2025 Overall Best National Farmer

0

Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei, an 82-year-old farmer from the Eastern Region, has been crowned the Overall Best National Farmer for 2025.

The 82-year-old farmer emerged winner, receiving a cash prize. 48-year-old Osman Kadiri of the Greater Accra Region was named the first runner-up, and 63-year-old Charles Gyato from the Oti Region took the second runner-up.

The National Best Female Farmer 2025 went to Madam Grace Owusuaah.

Their awards were presented by President John Dramani Mahama.

Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei, after receiving his award, expressed overwhelming appreciation for the honour and also pledged to continue working closely with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The 41st National Farmers Day Awards Ceremony was held in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

Meanwhile, at the event, President John Dramani Mahama has told all Ghanaians to venture into agriculture as an additional source of income.

Speaking at the 41st National Farmers’ Day Celebration in Ho on Friday, December 5, President Mahama encouraged Ghanaians, especially those in formal employment, to consider farming, adding that farming is only for “village folks”.

According to John Mahama, adopting farming as a secondary venture would boost personal earnings and also strengthen national food security, which would reduce Ghana’s importation.

President Mahama stated, “Agriculture isn’t only for the village folks,” he said. “You can work and still be a farmer. Teachers and civil servants can go to work and have farms, and the money from the farm can supplement their incomes.”

He further added that the government’s efforts to stabilise food prices are producing strong results.

“Food inflation stood at 28.3%. Through targeted interventions and careful management of food systems, I am pleased to report that food inflation has decreased significantly to 9.5% by October 2025. This is a notable improvement from the 22.8% recorded at exactly the same time last year,” he stated.

President Mahama also announced that the government will take aggressive measures to reduce interest rates on agriculture.

“The capital and credit facility that is available to our farmers is at such an interest rate that when a farmer is able to access it, they would be working for the bank and not themselves,” the President said.

He stated, “One of our prime objectives is to get credit to our farmers at the best possible rate. We will be working towards a single-digit interest rate”.

“I agree that credit for agriculture must be at a single-digit interest rate. So this government is going to work to bring that interest rate below 10% so that farmers can have access to cheaper credit to be able to produce more for us to feed ourselves,” he added.

Also, Eric Opoku, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, has said the government’s agricultural interventions are paying off, lifting incomes and food security.

He stated, “Our policies are affecting homes,” Opoku stated. “Families are experiencing real improvements — from better food availability to increased earnings for farmers, processors, traders, and all those along the value chain.”

“These policy gains mean more food on the table, more stable incomes, and stronger rural economies,” he added.

Watch the $60m Falcon 6X aircraft being purchased by the NDC gov’t

Following parliament approval of Sixty Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand United States Dollars (US$60,680,000.00) contract for the purchase of a Falcon 6X aircraft for the air force, videos have surfaced of the aircraft.

Official information from dassault-aviation.com stated, “The Falcon 6X is hailed as one of the most advanced jets in the world and sets a new standard for widebody comfort. It boasts the tallest and widest cabin in business aviation, measuring six feet, six inches in height and eight feet, six inches in width, making it the first ultra-widebody purpose-built business jet in the industry.

With an intercontinental range of 5,500 nautical miles, the Falcon 6X can fly nonstop from London to Hong Kong. Its advanced digital flight control system, first introduced on the Falcon 7X and refined on the Falcon 8X, ensures superior handling and flight safety.

Safety and situational awareness are further enhanced with Dassault’s FalconEye® combined vision system, which aids pilots during approaches in darkness or poor weather. The aircraft also features the FalconScan advanced diagnostics system, monitoring 100,000 maintenance parameters to ensure optimal performance.

Powered by new-generation Pratt & Whitney PW812D engines, the Falcon 6X offers excellent fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions while maintaining top-tier performance. It is also capable of operating on steep approaches to short runways, which is an essential feature for diverse mission requirements.

The Dassault Falcon 6X aircraft is valued at approximately US$60 to US$65 million”.

Meanwhile, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has called on the NDC government to render an unqualified apology to former President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana.

According to Rev John Ntim Fordjour, the NDC has a longstanding opposition to critical investments in the Ghana Armed Forces.

In a statement issued on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the Assin South MP stated, “Today, we NPP MPs in opposition — the Mighty Minority take the moral high ground to support the acquisition of aircraft for the Ghana Air Force,” he said.

“We will not politicise nor oppose what is right for the state and the Air Force.”

“We urge the NDC government to apologise to Ghanaians and President Akufo-Addo for opposing investment into the Air Force,” he added.

“NDC gov’t buying a $60m presidential jet with a bathroom and kitchen to bath and eat in the air” – Miracles Aboagye

0

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said the NDC government is buying a $60 million presidential jet with a bathroom and kitchen to bath and eat in the air.

@S_OkudzetoAblak and @FelixKwakyeOfo1

Our young nurses and teachers remain unemployed at home because the Government doesn’t prioritise them.

Insensitivity!!”

His comments come following Parliament approving a Sixty Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand United States Dollars (US$60,680,000.00) contract for the purchase of a Falcon 6X aircraft for the air force.

Also, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, has fired shots at the John Mahama-led government over plans to purchase two jets.

According to Oppong Nkrumah, he was shocked that the Mahama government, which claims not to have fiscal space, now has space to buy two new executive jets.

He further questioned the government’s fiscal priorities, adding that the focus on new aircraft contradicts claims of fiscal discipline.

Oppong Nkrumah called on the NDC government to prioritise payments to contractors and other pressing domestic obligations.

Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, November 19, Oppong Nkrumah expressed his shock, “You say you don’t have fiscal space, you are doing fiscal discipline. So I was shocked to hear you say that now you have space to buy a new executive jet, two actually.

“You don’t have fiscal space to finish paying the contractors on outstanding projects, but you have fiscal space to buy two executive jets,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has called on the NDC government to render an unqualified apology to former President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana.

Pidgin, social media language, weakened students’ WASSCE scripts – WAEC

0

John Kapi, the head of Public Relations at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has said the use of pidgin, social media language, weakened students’ WASSCE scripts in the 2025 exams.

According to John Kapi, the Chief Examiner’s report revealed that students used informal language, slang, and WhatsApp-style expressions in the 2025 English paper.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Friday, December 5, he explained, “If you look at the English report that came out, for example, the Chief Examiner indicated that there was a lot of pidgin in what the candidates wrote. They also referred to what they called ‘social media language’ or jargon things we normally use on WhatsApp, which are not formal.

“Especially in the English paper, some candidates could not use standard language, they could not spell properly, and they could not use the appropriate language to write their essays.”

“We need to look at it from home, from where the children grow up, and also examine whether the school system has enough support structures to help students learn. As a society, there is a lot we must address to put our children in a position to learn well,” he said.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has broken his silence concerning the poor performance of students in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.

According to Mahama, the poor WASSCE results are due to several years of neglect in basic education.

President Mahama described the situation as a serious concern for the government, parents, and the wider public.

He highlighted that it is mind-boggling that with the same teachers, the same factors in play, one batch of students passed their exams and the other failed.

Speaking at the launch of the STEMBox initiative for primary schools, John Mahama explained, “It has become an issue of great concern to governments, parents, and the public at large. I was speaking with the minister, and I’ve asked him to do an analysis of the examiner’s report to try and decipher what could have gone so disastrously wrong”.

“It is mind-boggling that with the same teachers, the same factors in play, just from one batch to another, one batch does so disastrously. And so we need to get to the bottom of it.”

“But it also emphasises the issue of foundational learning. One of the major things that has taken place in the last several years is the neglect of basic education,” he said.

“Inability to send the capitation grants, ensuring that we have quality teachers at a foundational level, at a basic level. Because it is that level that prepares the child for secondary and tertiary education.”

“And once you don’t get that level right, you will just send the child through a conveyor belt like a factory. And when it comes out at the end, it will be picked out by quality control and said that this one did not do well,” he explained.

Mahama added, “And so our focus must be on foundational learning. And foundational learning means that by the time a child leaves primary school, they should be able to read properly. By the time the child leaves primary school, they should be able to write properly. By the time the child leaves primary school, they should be able to do basic arithmetic”.

“If we are able to get our children to get these three things right—writing, reading, and arithmetic—then they have the foundation to continue into secondary education.”

President Mahama lamented, “Otherwise, it will be a factory that is just pushing them through and pushing them through. And at the end of it, you have the situation where a child finishes basic school and sometimes still finds it difficult to write his name”.

“Vigilance is not going to go away. Invigilation is not going to go away. And so we must make sure that the children are well prepared on their own to be able to study and pass the exams that are awaiting for them.”

“And so, I’ve asked the minister, and he’s told the director-general of the GES to study the examiner’s report, and let’s see what quick reforms we can carry out in order that our children get a quality education,” he stated.

“Agriculture isn’t only for the village folks; you can work and be a farmer” – Mahama to Ghanaians

“President Mahama will go for a third term, and he will win it” – Prophet Roja

0

Prophet Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, has said President John Dramani Mahama will run for a third term in office by winning the 2028 elections.

The man of God claimed that the parliament would make some amendments to certain laws in 2026, which would allow President Mahama to contest for a third term.

According to Prophet Roja, he has seen this from the realm of the spirit, with the parliamentary process unfolding in 2026, eventually impacting the 2028 general elections.

He revealed that the political landscape of Ghana would remain unchanged.

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Prophet Roja stated, “Parliament will make an amendment to a law that will ensure that an existing arrangement remains… I have seen it that President Mahama will go for a third term, and he will win it”.

However, President John Dramani Mahama has already made a bold declaration that he will not be a candidate in Ghana’s next elections.

According to John Mahama, stepping aside in 2028 would give him the moral authority to hold the line when it comes to Ghana’s fiscal discipline in an election year.

Mahama, during a bilateral discussion with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, criticised the practice of incumbent governments by-passing fiscal safeguards to curry favour with voters, a cycle he will end.

“I will not be a candidate in the next elections and therefore I can hold the line when it comes to fiscal discipline,” he said.

John Mahama’s declaration finally put an end to the growing speculation that he may seek another term in 2028.

Also, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has shut down calls from some sections of Ghanaians calling on President John Dramani Mahama to run for a third term.

According to Asiedu Nketiah, the NDC has no plan to present President John Mahama again for the 2028 election.

He emphasised that they have never run the NDC in ways that conflict with the 1992 constitution.

The NDC chairman boldly added that the party will stick by the tenets of the Constitution, which states that a president is only entitled to two terms.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, August 26, Asiedu Nketia detailed, “We have never run our party in ways that conflict with the national constitution, and we don’t intend to do that,” he said. “We will stick by the tenets of the Constitution.”

Also, Kwaku Asare, popularly known as Kwaku Azar, a private legal practitioner, has said President John Dramani Mahama’s declaration that he will not be contesting in the 2028 election is an act of proactive statesmanship.

According to Kwaku Azar, although the constitutional provisions are against a president running for a third term, Mahama’s declaration gives an assurance to Ghana’s political and social landscape.

He noted that Mahama’s statement was wise in maintaining Ghana’s democratic integrity and political stability.

Kwaku Azar is quoted to have said, “The president’s declaration was a necessary act of proactive statesmanship that goes beyond the letter of the law to secure political stability and democratic confidence”.

The private legal practitioner noted that the 1992 constitution speaks for itself, but effective leadership demands clear communication.

“Kissi Agyebeng was handpicked by Gabby, Dame, and Akufo-Addo to do their bidding” – Martin Kpebu

0

Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner, has once again launched yet another attack on the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agybeng.

According to Martin Kpebu, Kissi Agyebeng was handpicked by Gabby Otchere-Darko, the former Attorney General Godfred Dame and former President Akufo-Addo to do their bidding.

His comments come on the back of his release from the custody of the officer of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (OSP).

Speaking to TV3 shortly after his release, Lawyer Kpebu stated, “I know I have not done anything wrong, so I knew I would be released”.

“Wontumi is going through a lot; when you send money to him, it reverses” – Paul Yandoh

0

Paul Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said money cannot be sent to Chairman Wontumi through mobile money.

According to Paul Yandoh, Chairman Wontumi is going through a lot, and when money is sent to him on MoMo, it reverses back to the sender.

He further alleged that one cannot reach Wontumi through a normal call unless through a WhatsApp call.

If you send MoMo to Wontumi, MTN reverses it back to you. I am telling you, they have frozen Wontumi’s MoMo with no transaction. They reverse the money and tell you not to send money to that number anymore.

Even recently, I got some 500 cedis I wanted to send to the Chairman, but when I sent it, the money reversed back. I have not seen that before.

He added, “Wontumi has been deprived of a lot.  His MoMo is not working, even if you want to speak to Wontumi, unless you call him through WhatsApp call, they even want to take his number from him.

In a separate interview, speaking on Wontumi TV on Friday, October 17, 2025, Paul Yandoh lamented that Wontumi momo was frozen, saying “… Do you know that Chairman Wontumi’s Mobile Money wallet has been frozen? He cannot send nor receive money.

What Wontumi is going through is more than what Job went through in the Bible. This must be condemned by Ghanaians”.

Meanwhile, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has filed an application at the High Court seeking to unfreeze his bank accounts.

It will be recalled, the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) froze the bank accounts of Chairman Wontumi following the prosecution into his engagement in illegal mining.

Appiah-Kubi, a former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North and lawyer for Wontumi, stated, “Today, we are going to move an application to defreeze [the accounts].”

The FIC, acting in accordance with Section 56(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020. Froze the accounts, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (a.k.a. Chairman Wontumi), Akonta Mining, Hallmark Civil Engineering Limited

“In accordance with Section 56(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044), you are hereby directed to immediately freeze all accounts in relation to and in association with the above-named subjects pending further directives,” parts of a letter from the FIC stated.
