James Agbey, an operative and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has slammed some appointees of President John Dramani Mahama.
The NDC man accused President John Dramani Mahama’s appointees of showing arrogance and disrespect towards the party’s grassroots supporters and footsoldiers.
According to James Agbey, ministers, Chief Executive Officers, and heads of state institutions have become inaccessible.
He further alleged that some of Mahama’s appointees are being indifferent towards party members who worked for the NDC’s return to power.
In a press statement dated Sunday, May 17, 2026, James Agbey wrote, “As a longstanding operative, active and loyal member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), I am infuriated by the continuous disdainful attitude of government appointees towards NDC grassroots membership and footsoldiers”.
“Yes, as a high-flying government official and apparatchik, you should always be available to field questions and inquiries, listen to people’s problems, and address their grievances. This is what you’re sworn to do. It is the duty you owe the electorate and party activists who helped propel the party into government,” he said.
He further added that some appointees claim they are in office to serve Ghana and not the NDC footsoldier.
“Therefore, the assertion by some of these appointees that they are in office to serve Ghana and not NDC footsoldiers is arrogance beyond belief. And it makes both the party and government look so ridiculous,” he stated.
James Agbey further mentioned Kwesi Afrey Biney, the Director General of Social Security and National Insurance Trust, for turning away party folks simply on the basis that he’s in office to serve Ghana and not the NDC.
“Take, for instance, Kwesi Afrey Biney, the Director General of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), who has on numerous occasions turned away party folks simply on the basis that he’s in office to serve Ghana and not the NDC,” he alleged.
He further stressed, “You’re in power and serving as an appointee because of the toils and sweat of these footsoldiers. The arrogance and disdain must stop, and it must stop now”.
“President Mahama’s message on his investiture on January 7, 2025, was clear, passionate, and deeply resonant; ‘I’ll not tolerate disrespect and arrogance in my government’,” he quoted.
He further called on all NDC members to speak against what he described as growing intolerance within the party and government.
In related news, Joshua Akamba, a former National Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said there is one particular Minister who is so arrogant.
The NDC man highlighted that 99 per cent of John Mahama’s ministers are humble, but this particular person is so arrogant.
According to Joshua Akamba, he wants to expose the minister when the person is in front of the President.
Speaking on Metro TV, Good Afternoon, Joshua Akamba stated, “There is one Minister who is so arrogant”.
When pushed by the host after mentioning the names of Ablakwa, Sam George, and the Lands Minister, Akamba responded, saying, “Those people cannot be arrogant”.
“There was something that came up that I said we should name and shame. That agenda will be triggered soon. If I mention the Ministry, then you will know the person”.
He further added, “Akandoh, that is a good guy, he is somebody you call, he sees your call and rushes to pick it. About 99 per cent of President Mahama’s appointees are humble. I will come up with it later. I am dealing with it in a way. I want to do the exposure of the person in front of the president when they are together, then the news will come out about it”.
