South African activist Victoria Africa, popularly known as Queen Vee, has fired shots at Ghanaians following her viral video with a group of South Africans accosting a Ghanaian man to leave their country.

According to Queen Vee, the Ghanaian government is failing to create opportunities and forcing Ghanaians to migrate to cut nails in South Africa, but Ghanaian citizens are still defending them.

She questions the thinking and mindset is this that we see from African people while defending her actions and those of her group.

Speaking in the interview, Queen Vee stated, “I have seen reactions from most of the citizens of Ghana, saying they are applauding their foreign minister because he is dealing with this matter, dealing with the South African government decisively, and the Ghanaian people cannot be touched.

“The same people who cause Ghanaian people to migrate and come and do nails in a foreign country, today, you are applauding them. They are the reason why you have left Ghana because your government is failing to create opportunities in your country, but today you are defending them.”

She added, “So, what type of thinking and mindset is this that we see from African people?”

Some Ghanaians reacting to her video stated, “Idiot, what percentage of Ghanaians cut nails there? Did the man she embarrassed cut nails as well? What’s her real job? Has she been successful herself?”.

“@JacintaNgobese, make sure you finish with those who own the largest portions of your lands in your country before you deal with the mini-micro immigrants, of whom you claim they all have illicit documents. You play too much”, a netizen added.

A netizen added, “Does this ignorant fool understand that her country has way higher unemployment rates than the ‘undeveloped’ countries she’s looking down on? If anything, it says a lot about lazy South Africans are that they seem content to be in their country with no jobs”

One X user added, “Ghana should be like S.A, Kenya, Namibia, Morocco, Egypt etc cos God blessed us with almost everything a country will need to build and develop at a rapid rate, but unfortunately, our leaders came from the devil’s clothing, not only are they stealing  …”.

One X user noted, “Aside from the xenophobia attacks, she’s stating facts. Ghanaians have been too lenient with our leaders, we’re not demanding enough, and a country that’s divided because of politics never moves forward cos you won’t point out the wrongs cos it’s your party, and that’s BS….”.

In related news, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, has announced that the Government of Ghana is relocating Mr Emmanuel Asamoah, who came after an unwarranted xenophobic attack.

According to Ablakwa, the Ghanaian man was legally living in South Africa.

In a post on X, Ablakwa wrote, “ As I announced on TV3 a while ago, the Government of Ghana is relocating Mr Emmanuel Asamoah, the Ghanaian legally living in South Africa, who came under unwarranted xenophobic attack from a fringe vigilante group.

I have spoken to Mr Asamoah directly, and he is doing well despite the incessant threats.

We are taking him out of South Africa.

I wish to also commend the Government of South Africa for their reassuring response, particularly as conveyed in the press statement issued by the Hon. Minister for Police, Prof Firoz Cachalia.

We shall continue to make the protection of Ghanaians at home and abroad our utmost priority. No Ghanaian will be abandoned in harm’s way.

May Ghana 🇬🇭 South Africa 🇿🇦 relations grow stronger and better from here”.
