“In life, don’t embark on a journey that takes you nowhere” – Kwabena Agyapong’s campaign manager dumps him for Bawumia

0

Ofosu Asamoah, the former Member of Parliament for Kade and campaign manager for Kwabena Agyepong, has publicly declared his support for the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to the former Kwabena Agyapong’s campaign manager, in life, one must not embark on a journey that will take you nowhere.

Ofosu Asamoah made this announcement during a campaign event in the Eastern Region.

Speaking to NPP delegates on Monday, December 1, 2025, Ofosu Asamoah stated, “If you see me here, don’t be surprised. I am the same Ofosu Asamoah you know. My connection with Dr Bawumia isn’t new; I just chose not to back him earlier. But sometimes change is necessary”.

“In life, you don’t embark on a journey that is taking you nowhere. You need a clear vision to know where you are heading. I was a campaign manager in Kwabena Agyepong’s team, but after much assessment, I have decided to be part of this team,” he added.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “Stomach direction”.

“He doesn’t even look healthy. He needs to work on that belly, else e go take him go oh yooo”, one more netizen added.

An X user added, “This can never be news because if you’re the campaign manager of Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, the man technically knows it will bear no fruit, so where for crossing a carpet”.

Meanwhile, Kwabena Agyepong, a NPP flagbearer candidate, has challenged his fellow presidential hopefuls to engage in a nationally televised debate.

According to Kwabena Agyepong, Ghanaians deserve the debate to be able to make an informed decision based on policies, priorities, character, and track record.

Kwabena Agyepong emphasised that leadership should go beyond popularity contests.

He noted that Ghana needs a leader who will have transformative ideas and has shown commitment to deliver results.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on the AM Show, Kwabena Agyepong stated, “And that’s why I have even challenged my other four colleagues that we should have a nationally public-sized debate.

Ghanaians and our party people deserve to make an informed choice. That informed choice will be based on our policy differences, our priorities, our character, and our record. That should be scrutinised.”

“We need somebody who’s got transformative ideas, somebody who has shown that he’s prepared to work for results,” he added.

Additionally, five candidates are vying for the NPP’s flagbearer position in the January 31 elections.

The two leading candidates are former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong; the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the other three former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Bryan Acheampong; the former Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyepong.

Let’s preserve our religious co-existence and tolerance – Haruna Iddrisu pleads

0

Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, has urged leaders of both the Christian and Islamic communities to preserve religious co-existence and religious tolerance in Ghana.

According to Haruna Iddrisu, the Christian and Islamic communities must safeguard the unity, peace, and religious tolerance that Ghana enjoys amid the ongoing discussions on rights and religious practices in the country’s educational system.

The Education Minister highlighted that Ghana continues stand out as a model for religious freedom and association, making it essential to preserve this harmony.

Speaking at an event, Haruna Iddrisu stated, “Let me use this opportunity to appeal to the leadership of the Church of Ghana and the Muslim leadership of Ghana, let us preserve the unity, the peace, the religious co-existence and the religious tolerance of our country.

Ghana remains a beacon of inspiration when it comes to religious co-existence. I have seen the National Chief Imam comfortably go to a church facility to join them; that is how it should be. Let us respect the value of our religion in freedom and guarantee those rights in freedom.

I attended a Presbyterian school, which shared a wall with the Methodist school. I was not denied the opportunity to uphold my religious values and my religious beliefs, which co-existed”, he added.

Also, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has said Ghana needs to focus on real issues confronting its educational system over minor issues.

According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s focus on its educational system must not be on religious doctrines or the hairstyles worn by students.

Speaking at the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon) 87th Speech and Prize-Giving Day on Saturday, November 29, Ablakwa stated, “Instead of focusing on how strict religious doctrines are being enforced in our schools, and the weird correlation between short hair and disciplined students, it is time to ponder over the real issues”.

“Why is our educational system producing graduates who criminally create thousands of ghosts to fleece the state when real human beings are looking for jobs? Why is our educational system producing graduates who destroy our environment, pollute our river bodies, and create a public health crisis for the rest of us just to advance their greedy, galamsey search for gold? Why is our educational system producing graduates who lack ethical leadership?

He added, “Why is our educational system producing graduates who commit Ghana to unconscionable transactions? Why is our educational system producing lutocratic graduates who want so much for themselves and don’t care about the country they lead and the generations coming after them? To me, with all due respect, these are the weightier matters that is why I agree with Albert Einstein when he proclaimed that ‘true religion is real living, living with all one’s soul, with all one’s goodness and righteousness,’”.

The brouhaha follows a Ghanaian lawyer and PhD candidate, Shafic Osman, at the London School of Economics, who sued Wesley Girls’ Senior High School and the Government at the Supreme Court.

The case filed cited Wesley Girls’ restricting Muslim students from wearing the hijab, fasting during Ramadan, and practising other aspects of their faith.

Shafic Osman argued that a public school cannot lawfully restrict the religious rights of Muslim students nor compel them to practise a faith they do not subscribe to.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ordered the Wesley Girls Senior High School to formally respond to allegations that it prevents Muslim students from practising their religion in the school.

“I will reduce death rate in Ghana if I become President” — Dr Adutwum

0

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, has said he plans to reduce the death rate in Ghana if he becomes president.

Speaking during an interview with Kwame Tanko on Lawson Afisem, the politician disclosed that he has plans to reduce death rates in Ghana.

He asserted that he has noticed that the death rate has escalated to an extremely worrisome level; hence, he plans to reduce it, if not stop it totally.

Dr Adutwum stated, “We are dying too early, there is no longevity, if you grow old, then it means God has helped you. When you go to the villages and towns, you will see young people’s images with the inscription ‘gone too soon’, ‘painful exit’, ‘what a shock’. What policy can we implement to tackle this?”

“Have you heard of any party campaigning about this before?” he quizzed.

He added, “ Before the year ends, a lot of Ghanaians die from road accidents, but in some countries, they have a policy that deals with these things. My campaign is about how we can help Ghanaians to live better”.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum went on to add that one of his dreams is also to help eradicate poverty in Ghana.

In related news, Dr Adutwum has recounted how he escaped death in the line of duty for Ghana.

The former Education Minister revealed he was almost killed during a regional tour to promote the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy while returning from Bawku to Buipe.

According to Dr Adutwum, the attackers were masked and fired multiple shots at his vehicle.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News, Dr Adutwum narrated, “One of my journeys back from Bawku, Buipe, my car was shot at, literally killed on the line of duty. I almost lost my life,” he said.

When I went to the Buipe Police Station, they said it had never happened before. Nobody has ever shot into a government vehicle because they know you don’t carry money. Normally, they will attack traders and not somebody in a Land Cruiser. I almost lost my life”, he recounted.

When asked if he thinks it was a targeted assassination, he replied, “I don’t know, but all that I know is that the side of my car was bullet-ridden, and I saw these people who had masks on.

“We turned a corner; we saw them with their masks on, and then they started shooting. My driver had to do a zigzag, go this way, come this way, to dodge the bullets. It was a very difficult day, and we escaped that”, Dr Adutwum narrated.

Dr Adutwum continued, “I remember the Chief of Staff on the phone with me throughout the night to make sure I arrived in Kumasi safely. When we got to the Buipe Police station, and we stopped, that is when the tyre went flat. They shot into the tyre nonstop, so that they could stop there. So, I was almost killed in the line of duty for this country.

Dr Adutwum, in that same interview, has said the greatest threat facing Ghana is poverty.

He highlighted that Ghana must confront poverty head-on with bold and innovative solutions.

According to Dr Adutwum, his presidential ambition is anchored on fighting poverty through education reform.

He added, “The President of Ghana means that you have a mindset that tells you that things can be better than what I’ve inherited or what I see today.

“If I ask anybody, what’s the greatest challenge facing Ghana on the street, a number of them will talk about the cost of living, issues, things are very difficult.

“At the end of the day, I conclude that the greatest threat facing this nation is poverty, and that we have to be frontal with it”.

Take-or-pay Zipline contract costing Ghana $500,000 per month – Health minister

0

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Health Minister, has said the 2018 ‘take-or-pay’ sole-sourced Zipline contract cost the government $500,000 every month.

According to the Health Minister, the government is obligated to pay Zipline more than $500,000 every month, regardless of how few medical supplies are delivered.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on December 1, 2025, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh stated, “For every month, the government is supposed to pay $88,000 per centre. So with six centres, we are paying a little over $500,000 every month”.

He added that the sole-sourced contract effectively binds the government to continuous payments.

Audit also revealed that only 12% of areas served qualify as “hard-to-reach” and only 4% of deliveries can fall under “emergency” classification, rasing significant value for money concerns.

Also, Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in parliament, has boldly declared that the former government’s contract with Zipline for the drone delivery of essential medicines was a total waste of money.

According to Mahama Ayariga, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has the capacity to procure its own drones to deliver critical drugs to communities.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Mahama Ayariga stated, “It’s a total waste of money. The most expensive drones don’t even go beyond twenty thousand dollars. By now, we would have had drones for every district in this country managed by the Ghana Health Service. Let’s do a total calculation on how much money we have wasted on this Zipline contract.”

“I call for a cancellation of the contract. The contract should be cancelled. The Ghana Health Service should develop its own in-house capacity to deliver the blood through its own drones,” he added.

His remarks come on the back of Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, calling on the Leader of Government Business to summon the Health Minister to parliament to update the house on Zipline operations following three centres being shut down due to the government’s GH₵175 million unpaid debt.

Meanwhile, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the former Minister of Health, has warned the John Mahama-led government against the cancellation of the Zipline drone delivery system.

The former Minister of Health cautioned political actors against attempts to ridicule and undermine the Zipline.

According to Okoe Boye, politicising Zipline can endanger the lives of remote communities that depend on emergency medical deliveries.

The former Health Minister defended the Zipline drone delivery as one of the fastest lifelines for health facilities that lack critical medical supplies.

It will be recalled, the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, launched the drones-for-medical-supplies initiative at Zipline’s first distribution centre at Omenako in the Eastern Region.

The $12.5 million contract was to enable the Ghana Health Service to fly blood and other essential medical supplies to deprived and hard-to-reach areas.

Petitions to remove Jean Mensa and Special Prosecutor rest with the CJ – Kwakye Ofosu

0

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Government Communications Minister, has revealed that the petition to remove the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, her deputies and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng now rests with the Chief Justice.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, the process has left the hands of President John Dramani Mahama, adding that he believes Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie will act in accordance with Ghanaian law.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu is quoted by Joy News to have said, “Every process that is needed to be done has been undertaken. The process for doing so is quite clear. At this stage, the process has left the hands of the president beyond conveying the petitions to the Chief Justice.

There’s little else that the president does in this particular instance. Everything now rests with the Chief Justice, who, I believe, will act in accordance with Ghanaian law”.

The Government Communications Minister’s remarks follow, reports that President John Dramani Mahama had forwarded seven petitions seeking the removal of Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, and her two deputies.

According to the report, President Mahama received 10 petitions for the removal of two heads of public institutions and two deputies appointed under Article 70 of the Constitution.

A news flyer by JoyNews, which was shared on social media, revealed that the two institutions are the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The Joynews flyer read, “President Mahama refers seven petitions seeking the removal of Jean Menas and her two deputies, and three petitions for the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to the Chief Justice”.

It must be recalled that Prof Baffour Agyeman-Duah, a former United Nations Senior Governance Adviser, had earlier revealed that a petition had already been sent to Mahama for the removal of Jean Mensa and deputies.

However, last week, news broke of an EC staff member, Joseph Blankson, who petitioned President John Dramani Mahama for the removal of EC Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies, Dr Bossman Eric Asare and Samuel Tettey.

The EC staff member in his petition cited alleged misconduct that he claims threatens the credibility of Ghana’s electoral system.

According to Joseph Blankson Adumadzie, his petition was submitted in line with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.

He, however, refuses to provide details in the petition, adding that it is anchored on 12 counts of stated misbehaviour.

The allegations include “cronyism, abuse of office, and gross incompetence”.

Regarding Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, President Mahama received three petitions seeking his removal.

Last week, Shamima Muslim, the Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, received the ‘Agro Ne Fom’ protestors petition demanding the removal of the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

The deputy Presidential Spokesperson received the petition and assured Ghanaians that no citizen should fear exercising their constitutional rights.

Apostle Abraham Lincoln Larbi led the group of Ghanaians to stage a protest in Accra, demanding the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng from office.

They argued that President Mahama must either terminate the appointment of the Special Prosecutor or dissolve the office entirely.

Receiving the protesters’ petition on behalf of the Presidency, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim stated, “I am very happy when citizens mobilise to exercise their constitutional rights to freedom of expression”.

“His Excellency has assured all citizens, regardless of political persuasion, that no one should feel fearful in expressing their rights. Your demonstration today is an activation of our living constitution. You are welcome, and we are happy to receive your petition”, he added.

In addition, Martin Kpebu has disclosed that 15 separate petitions have been submitted seeking the Special Prosecutor’s removal.

Ghana ends Ghana-only WASSCE; returns to international WASSCE for May/June 2026

0

The Ghana Education Service has announced that Ghana is moving away from the Ghana-only WASSCE introduced under the Akufo-Addo administration.

According to the GES, Ghana will participate in the international WASSCE, written by all West African member countries, in May/June 2026.

The GES news comes on the back of WAEC releasing the 2025 WASSCE results.

WAEC’s provisional results for the 2025 WASSCE showed that more than half of the candidates, “220,008 out of 461,736, failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

Also, “Only 48.73% of candidates attained grades A1 to C6 in 2025. This represents a massive collapse from the 66.86% achieved in 2024. A total of 209,068 candidates passed with A1-C6, but 114,872 candidates (26.77%) failed the subject outright with an F9 grade.

A total of 1,021 schools registered candidates for the examination, representing a slight 0.24% increase over 2024, while 5,821 candidates (1.26%) were absent”.

Additionally, 131,097 students (30.27%) failed English Language, 161,606 students (39.87%) failed Integrated Science, and 196727 students (44%) failed Social Studies.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results accurately reflect student performance.

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the claims by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, the past Education Minister, attributing the failure to unsupportive management practices are baseless.

They revealed that the GES has cancelled any allowances due to teachers, as claimed by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum.

In a statement on Monday, 1 December 2025, the GES stated, “Management takes note of attempts by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, immediate past Minister of Education, to attribute the performance of students in the 2025 WASSCE to unsupportive management practices of GES.

It is not true that the GES has cancelled any allowances due to teachers, as claimed by Dr Adutwum in his engagement with some media houses. Indeed, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has publicly clarified reasons for the non-payment of the November allowances for teachers”.

It further added, “GES urges the public to disregard the statements made by the former Minister, Dr Adutwum, regarding the 2025 WASSCE results and treat them as an attempt to shift focus from his shortcomings in managing the examination process.

Management of GES views the 2025 WASSCE results as a true reflection of the academic performance of the candidates. The outcome is a credible representation of students’ abilities”.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Institute for Education Studies (IFEST), Dr Peter Anti Partey, has called for a scientific approach to address the decline in 2025 WASSCE performance.

Speaking on Morning Starr, he stated, “The national averages… are just an aggregation of individual school performances. If some people perform poorly, they drive the overall average down.”

“If we leave it to the politicians, I don’t think those kinds of decisions would help my child or help your child… Our individual kids… will not benefit from that discussion.”

He added, “People might want to talk about the issue of everything… These are perceptual reasons. They are not scientifically founded because we are not undertaking any rigorous exercise to determine the linkage between these variables and the performance”.

“We should ask the Ministry of Education to let us know which schools are pulling the national averages down and what interventions the ministry is ready to provide for these schools,” he added.

Why over 200,000 students failed Mathematics in the 2025 WASSCE – WAEC explains

0

John Kapi, the Head of Public Relations at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has detailed the reasons behind the sharp decline in core mathematics performance in the 2025 WASSCE.

John Kapi, the Head of Public Relations at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), attributed the sharp decline to specific skill gaps among students.

Speaking on the JOY Super Morning Show, Mr Kapi highlighted some seven areas where candidates struggled.

Mr Kapi revealed, “They (the examiners) indicated the candidate’s weaknesses in representing mathematical information in diagrams, solving global mathematics-related problems, constructing cumulative frequency tables from given data distribution for making deductions from real-life problems.

“Solving application problems in simple interest, translating word problems into mathematical expressions and interpreting results from the cumulative frequency curve. So, these are areas that the chief examiners can observe weaknesses in the children’s perform other countries’ performance,” he noted.

The results released by WAEC reveal, 220,008 out of 461,736 failed Core Mathematics, marking the worst performance in the subject in seven years.

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the claims by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, the past Education Minister, attributing the failure to unsupportive management practices are baseless.

In a statement on Monday, 1 December 2025, the GES stated, “The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken note of public discussions following the release of the 2025 WASSCE results. Management provides clarity to aid a balanced national conversation.

Management takes note of attempts by Dr Yaw Osei-Adutwum, immediate past Minister of Education, to attribute the performance of students in the 2025 WASSCE to unsupportive management practices of GES.

According to the GES, the statement issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service states that any teacher found abetting malpractice led to a heightened invigilation.

“Prior to the examinations, the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service issued a firm directive that any teacher or official found aiding or abetting malpractice during the examinations would face strong sanctions. This was rigorously enforced.

The 2025 WASSCE was conducted under heightened invigilation, strengthened supervision and strict adherence to examination protocols across all centres. These measures significantly resulted in the apprehension of some students and staff who would have engaged in examination malpractices.

It is essential to appreciate that the outcome is a direct demonstration of the trend towards restoring the integrity of the examination process. A credible examination system serves the best interests of our students, our schools, and the nation”.

“Some NDC MPs suffering; they come to Parliament with Uber” – Afenyo-Markin

0

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has said some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament are suffering financially.

According to Afenyo-Markin, some of the NDC are using ride-hailing services such as Uber to make it to parliamentary sittings.

The minority leader detailed that the NDC MPs, particularly those on the backbench and without appointments as board members, are suffering.

Speaking during an interview on Peace FM on November 28, 2025, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Our brothers in the NDC, we are in Parliament with them; they are 189, and they are suffering. Some of them come to Parliament with Uber. Some of them are on the backbench, and they are not on any board”.

Afenyo-Markin asserted that despite the NDC MPs’ challenges, they are together and selecting the long-term interest of their party.

“They are suffering, but they have a common understanding that they have to take time for the party. I am not saying that when some things are not going well, we shouldn’t say it”.

The minority leader further urged NPP members to learn from the NDC to restrain and remain committed to party unity, even in difficult times.

Afenyo-Markin in that same interview, told his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members to take inspiration from the NDC for the party to win back power in 2028.

According to Afenyo-Markin, the NPP can take inspiration from the NDC, as no one thought President Mahama could ever become president again, adding that political comebacks are possible when the party members are united.

Afenyo-Markin noted that when the NDC was in disarray, it took Asiedu Nketiah, the Ahwois and others to put the NDC together, so there is hope for the NPP.

He added, “Whoever thought John Mahama could be president again? Let us face the facts, it took Asiedu Nketiah to charge through the storm after Mahama lost by over one million votes in the 2016 elections. When the NDC was in disarray, when they had nobody, it took Asiedu Nketiah to put the party together”.

“NPP, don’t be sad. There is hope. Let us work together, and we can take inspiration from the NDC and win power,” he added.

Afenyo-Markin further begged all NPP members to put their anger against the former Akufo-Addo government aside and work together to win power.

He added, “Look, I am pleading with every NPP member: even if the government was not fair to you, put all your anger somewhere and let us work together to win”.

“It took Asiedu Nketiah, the Ahwois and others to put the NDC together. So, NPP, there is hope.”

Meanwhile, some netizens have reacted to the comments made by Afenyo-Markin, saying, “In other words, they are not being able to appropriate and embezzle funds like they would if they were in power. Is this supposed to be coming from a leader of such ranking?”.

“The NDC are no saint. It is just logically impossible to find an honest politician. No matter how you see the President. Mahama is still having and will always have a fabric of dishonesty as a politician. But the NPP shouldn’t be given a chance again, they are killers”, a netizen added.

Court jails Okada rider to 10 years for defiling a five-year-old boy

0

A Circuit Court in Bekwai has sentenced a commercial motorbike rider (Okada) to 10 years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy.

The Okada rider has been identified as Baffour Kwakye, a 23-year-old man.

Reports suggest the incident occurred at Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

The Okada rider in court pleaded guilty after the trial had already begun.

Detective Chief Inspector Eric Twum told the court that the victim, a Class One pupil, lived in the same neighbourhood as the convict.

The prosecution detailed that the convict sent the young boy on an errand in May 2025 and later lured him into his room under the pretext of watching a video on the phone.

The five-year-old boy reported the incident to the mum leading to his mother, Akosua Kisiwaa, who filed a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).

Medical examination confirmed the abuse, leading to the arrest of the convict on 20 July 2025 at Manso Nkran in a theft case.

The Police then handed him over to the authorities at Manso Nkwanta to face his defilement charges.

The Circuit Court in Bekwai, Presiding Judge Honour Isaac Appietu, sentenced him to 120 months’ imprisonment after the trial concluded.

In related news, the  Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced 35-year-old Daniel Darkwa to fifteen(15) years in prison.

According to reports, Daniel Darkwa has been sentenced to fifteen years in prison with hard labour for the defilement of a 13-year-old girl at his home in Amasaman.

Reports suggest the convict, who is a close friend of the victim’s father, lured the 13-year-old into his home.

In court, the prosecution revealed that Daniel Darkwa, after having sex with the 13-year-old girl, gave her 10 cedus for school; however, the girl confided in her teacher, leading to the arrest of the convict.

In a post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X wrote, “The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced 35-year-old Daniel Darkwa to fifteen(15) years in prison with hard labour for the defilement of a 13-year-old girl at his home in Amasaman.

The convict, a close associate of the victim’s father, reportedly lured her into his home after she passed by his neighbourhood to greet her grandmother, who also lived nearby.

According to the prosecution, the convict, after having sex with the victim on November 7, 2025, gave her GH¢10 and allowed her to leave for school. The victim, however, confided in her school teacher and reported the incident, leading to the arrest of Mr Daniel”.

Also, in another defilement case, Eric Asamoah, 26, has been sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment with hard labour after defiling a 7-year-old boy.

In court, Eric Asamoah pleaded guilty to the 7-year-old boy in Mankessim.

The case was presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo at Circuit Court Two in Cape Coast.

Eric Asamoah has since been sent to the Ankaful prison to begin his sentence.

The Ghana Police Service, in a statement on social media, stated, “The Circuit Court Two, Cape Coast, has sentenced the accused person, Eric Asamoah, to sixteen (16) years imprisonment in hard labour.

On November 6th 2025, the defilement case involving the accused person, Eric Asamoah, that occurred on November 2, 2025, was called at Circuit Court Two, Cape Coast, presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo.

‘The accused person pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement, and he was convicted on his own plea and sentenced to sixteen (16) years imprisonment in hard labour,

He has since been sent to the Ankaful prison to begin his sentence”.

Ofori-Atta left Ghana before OSP started SML investigations – Manasseh Azure

0

Manasseh Azure Awuni, an Investigative journalist, has revealed that former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta left Ghana before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) started SML investigations.

According to Manasseh Azure, the OSP Deputy Staff Officer at the Investigations Department, on January 29, 2025, contacted him following his petition in December 2023.

He revealed that they contacted him because the investigation team needed context and background on the issues.

Manasseh Azure highlighted that former President Akufo-Addo or the heads of security agencies cannot be blamed for non-cooperation, adding that at the time Ofori-Atta left the OSP had not started the investigation.

The Investigative journalist earlier disclosed that Ken Ofori-Atta left Ghana on January 4, 2025 and had a valid visa to the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.

Part of Manasseh Azure Awuni’s write-up stated, “If you do not know where this is going, here is some help. The OSP, which was petitioned in December 2023 to investigate the SML scandal in which Ken Ofori-Atta is implicated, was now asking me, the investigative journalist and petitioner, for information to help “in the preparation process of the investigation.”

The OSP was “in the preparation process of the investigation” in February 2025, a month after Ken Ofori-Atta had left Ghana.

This means that at the time Ken Ofori-Atta was leaving Ghana, the OSP did not have any evidence on its own to charge him because the investigation had not started.

In a response to my write-up yesterday, when Ken Ofori-Atta’s accomplice, Ernest Akore, was leaving Ghana, the OSP was not even a person of interest to the OSP. Ernest Akore left Ghana in November 2024, almost a year after the OSP was petitioned. He was not a person of interest because the OSP had not yet started the SML investigation.

So we cannot blame Akufo-Addo or the non-cooperation of the heads of security agencies for Ken Ofori-Atta’s departure when the OSP had not started the investigation.

This evidence-based chronology of events I have narrated also clearly contradicts the claims the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, made when he appeared on the KSM Show, hosted by Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM)”.

Read Manasseh’s write-up below:

“1. On JANUARY 29, 2025, Mark Kwaku Asiedu, a Deputy Staff Officer at the Investigations Department of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), contacted me. He said the OSP was ABOUT TO START investigations into the SML scandal, which I had petitioned the office in DECEMBER 2023.

2. Mr. Asiedu’s reason for contacting me was that the investigation team needed context and background on the issues, beyond my petition and the documentary.

3. This is standard practice. I had assisted the police, CHRAJ, and even the OSP in the past. Before they start their investigation, they would often speak to me, get more information or evidence that may not have made it to the publication.

4. We agreed to have that meeting on January 31, 2025. It was a virtual meeting because I was in the United States. In that meeting, the OSP’s investigative team, led by Mr Asiedu, asked fundamental questions about the SML story and possible leads to follow before they started the investigation. This was after I had given them a summary of the issues. [Evidence of the meeting invitation attached]

5. On FEBRUARY 5, Mr. Asiedu sent me an email as a follow-up to our previous week’s meeting and copied three other officials of the OSP. The email requested basic information on the SML story and some contacts of persons and institutions that were not suspects or directly linked to the scandal. [Email Attached]

6. That email read: “Our meeting last week refers. Kindly find below the list of the information we requested to aid us IN THE PREPARATION PROCESS OF THE INVESTIGATION.” (Emphasis mine)

7. If you do not know where this is going, here is some help. The OSP, which was petitioned in December 2023 to investigate the SML scandal in which Ken Ofori-Atta is implicated, was now asking me, the investigative journalist and petitioner, for information to help “in the preparation process of the investigation.”

8. The OSP was “in the preparation process of the investigation” in February 2025, a month after Ken Ofori-Atta had left Ghana.

9. This means that at the time Ken Ofori-Atta was leaving Ghana, the OSP did not have any evidence on its own to charge him because the investigation had not started.

11. So we cannot blame Akufo-Addo or the non-cooperation of the heads of security agencies for Ken Ofori-Atta’s departure when the OSP had not started the investigation.

12. This evidence-based chronology of events I have narrated also clearly contradicts the claims the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, made when he appeared on the KSM Show, hosted by Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM). One that show, Mr. Agyebeng made the following claims:

13. “We started our investigation in December 2023. By the end of December, we had a clear path of where we were going.”

14. “The law says do not intrude much into the lives of people and corporate entities during the preliminary stage. So, at that stage, we don’t go arresting people. We are quietly looking and questioning people. We only started calling in people in January 2025.”

15. “We’ve been doing this the whole of 2024. So we started in December 2023. By the ending of 2024, we knew what we were sitting on, what we had. That’s why in January [2025], we started inviting our primary suspects in.”

16. Unless Manasseh Azure Awuni is the primary suspect in the SML scandal, then the Special Prosecutor needs to tell us who was invited in January 2025. The primary suspects were invited in June 2025.

17. The persons and institutions whose contacts the OSP investigators requested in February 2025 were not primary suspects because the investigation was about to begin. This is standard practice in most investigations. Before you contact the primary suspects and delve deep into the issue, you begin with those on the periphery for a clear understanding before zooming in on the primary suspects. (In some investigations, however, it is best to hit at the primary targets first.)

18. The content of the February 5 email annoyed me, and I did not respond to the email. The top bosses of the OSP would not be surprised by this because, in December 2023 and throughout 2024, I had engaged them and complained about their delay in starting investigations. That delay could help the people involved put their house in order or hide some vital information. The OSP officials gave excuses, including the hostile environment of the Akufo-Addo regime and their own security.

19. I pointed out to them that it was in that same hostile environment that I led two other journalists to undertake the SML investigation. The OSP has more resources and power than the journalists. The OPS has the power to arrest, search, and raid premises and seize evidence. The journalists do not have that. The Special Prosecutor, in Kissi Agyebeng’s tenure, is one of the most protected public officials in Ghana, perhaps next to the President and Vice President. The journalists who did the SML investigation did not have police protection when we went about with our bare faces doing the SML investigation, and we have never dreamt of bulletproof cars. Only three journalists did the SML investigation in 2023. The OSP recruited 249 people in 2023 alone. So, the OSP was better placed than journalists to investigate corruption in the Akufo-Addo administration, despite the challenges. To date, the OSP officials and I still do not agree on the reason they delayed the investigation.

20. Five days after the OSP investigator sent me the email requesting information to prepare for the SML investigation, ORAL presented its report to President Mahama.

21. Two days after ORAL’s presentation, the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, mounted the podium and dramatically declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive from justice. And what was number one on Mr. Ofori-Atta’s list of alleged acts of corruption? SML!

22. While returning from a funeral in Kumasi in June 2025, I shared a seat with a director at the OSP, Mr. Albert Akurugu, the man whose name Martin Kpebu mentioned in his allegations against the OSP. We struck up a conversation, and he stated that he had been handed the duty to lead a team to investigate the SML scandal, and it was good that we had met. I told him I had been contacted some months earlier, but I did not follow through with what the OSP team wanted because I was disappointed in the delay. He said he was now in charge and promised that his team would do a good job. The team, he said, had just begun, and they would need my support. I volunteered my time and supported.

23. I understand that Mr. Akurugu was handed the responsibility after the preliminary investigation, which proceeded after my February 2025 meeting with Mr. Asiedu and his team.

24. I don’t know the internal workings of the OSP, but contrary to claims made by Martin Kpebu and others that Mr. Akurugu was put on the case to avenge his enemies at the GRA, I realised his background gave him a firm grip on the matter. He didn’t need anyone to explain the workings of the ICUMS and other processes at the ports, where SML was carrying out its fantom responsibilities.

25. The OSP carried out the main SML investigation in June, July, and August 2025. They covered more ground and got far more incriminating evidence than we had uncovered in our investigation, thanks to the power of the OSP to arrest, raid and search SML’s premises and demand and receive documents that investigative journalists could not get.

26. The OSP has done a good job on the SML investigation, and it is left to be seen if the office will do a good job on the prosecution. But the thorny issues arising from the SML and Ken Ofori-Atta’s departure threaten the very existence of the OPS.

27. On the KSM show, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng repeatedly claimed that the difficulty in handling the SML matter and stopping Ken Ofori-Atta was because Ken Ofori-Atta’s cousin was the president at that time.

28. Accepting this excuse from Kissi Agyebeng or anyone else means the OSP should be scrapped. The OSP is supposed to be independent and do its work. The Attorney General often handles post-regime accountability. Proponents of the OSP thought that instead of waiting for the government to leave before corruption probes and prosecutions begin, an independent office could tackle corruption within regimes, which the Attorney-General, a politician and president’s appointee, may not do.

29. Are we saying in 2029, the OSP will be telling us that a certain investigation was not done or an action could not be taken because it involved President Mahama’s relative or close friend, and that the OSP anticipated it would not get cooperation from state agencies headed by the president’s appointees?

30. Like any institution, the OSP is bound to have its own challenges. But after eight years of its existence, we must go past these excuses. And this is why some of us are speaking up”.

“Atta Akyea insulted Akufo-Addo, told me he was not fit to be president” – Ken Agyapong

0

Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful, has said, Samuel Atta Akyea, the former Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, used filthy words against Akufo-Addo.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Atta-Akyea insulted Akufo-Addo and told him that Akufo-Addo was not fit to be president.

Speaking on Skyy FM, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “Atta-Akyea, I could have responded to him, but I am not going to respond to him because, even President Akufo-Addo, he insulted him. he told me at Heathrow Airport that he is not fit to be president at that time Akufo-Addo won.

So, I was surprised when Akufo-Addo appointed him as minister; he accepted it, before I would have replied to him. The filthy words he says when I go to the UN…”

Kennedy Agyapong reiterated, “The filthy words he used to describe Akufo-Addo at the London Heathrow Airport were scary. So if he can criticise someone coming from his own hometown, when he does it to me, I am nobody, so I am not going to respond. But he should remember the things he told me at Heathrow Airport, it was so nasty.

If I had told Akufo-Addo, he would never have made him a minister, but I was quiet; I am not responding to anybody, I am just staying focused. These are distractions because they do not have a message, so they go about saying Kennedy Agyapong is not presidential material”.

Kennedy Agyapong’s comments come following Atta Akyea’s earlier comment he made, cautioning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates not to gamble and elect a leader who will go to the UN and insult World leaders.

Atta Akyea warned NPP delegates not to vote for Kennedy Agyapong, who will go and embarrass the country on the International stage during the United Nations Assembly.

He boldly told the NPP delegate not to vote for someone who would insult world leaders when he travels.

Speaking at a gathering of party faithful at Mpraeso in the Eastern region, Atta Akyea stated, “Someone just reminded me, if you gamble and vote for this man (Kennedy Agyapong) and he goes to the United Nations, you will hear motherfucker, Ghanaians will hear motherfucker, Ghanaians will hear a President saying motherfucker.

Have you heard Dr Bawumia ever say motherfucker before? I beg of you, don’t go and gamble”.

Meanwhile, Samuel Atta Akyea defended what he said against Kennedy Agyapong.

According to Samuel Atta Akyea, nobody has invented any story about Kennedy Agyapong, as things he said in the past are being used against him.

Atta Akyea further noted that Ken Agyapong is someone one cannot advise, as whatever he wants to do, he will do even in public.

The former MP added that Kennedy Agyapong cannot hide his condition by faking his character forever.

Speaking in an interview with Adom FM, shared on Facebook,  Samuel Atta Akyea stated, “The person you want to become the flagbearer is not someone you can advise. Whatever Ken, who was my classmate in Adisadel, says he will do, he will do it; you can’t stop it. He would even do it in public for people to record it.

“So, nobody has invented any story about him. His actions that have been recorded, the things he says, the pastors who have been insulted, the leaders who were insulted, all these things are not the invention of Atta Akyea. They are things he has said,” he said.

He added, “If you have diarrhoea and you take medication, it does not mean it (the diarrhoea) has stopped… You cannot fake the condition you are in. So, if you are having a running tummy, and you go and take medication, the diarrhoea will not stop. That is what we are seeing now.

“Some of the things Ken said are coming out, and people are running. People have quit on some of the issues about Ken; more could even come out,” he said.

“Never in my life had I been to church, but my wife guided me to Christ”- Kevin-Prince Boateng narrates

0

Kevin-Prince Boateng, the former Black Stars player, has narrated how his wife led him to church for the first time.

According to Kevin-Prince Boateng, his wife persuaded him to attend church services for the first time despite so many voices telling him not to go.

The ex-footballer added that his wife never saw him as her husband, but helped him through all his trauma.

Kevin-Prince Boateng revealed that at the church, he started to cry, and the Spirit hit him with so much conviction that he felt so sorry, adding that it was that moment he gave his life to Christ.

Speaking on the Unscripted podcast, the former Barcelona and AC Milan player narrated, “My wife says, ‘You want to come to church?’ She prayed to God, saying, ‘You want me to help this man, I will help him.’ She never saw me as her husband or anything.

She just knew God brought me into her life so she could help me go through all my trauma and everything. Never in my life had I been to church. So many voices told me, ‘Don’t go. Don’t worry about that. Why are you going? Just tell her you’re sick, you can’t come, don’t go.’

He added, “And my wife went by herself because she said, ‘We can’t go in together, we’re not a couple.’ So I was standing in front of the church, looking at these people with Bibles going inside. I was like, ‘What am I doing here, man?’ She did it on purpose because she wanted me to go in there for Christ, not for her. You feel out of place. I put on a turtleneck so they wouldn’t see my tattoos,” he narrated.

“I was kind of ashamed of that. She’s like, ‘Oh, it’s your first time?’ It was my first time ever in church. I went all the way to the back, and these people had their hands up, singing to Jesus. I looked at them and said, ‘What’s wrong with these people?’ After five minutes, I don’t know what happened. I stood up, lifted my hands, and started crying in that church, and I was peeping so no one would recognise me.”

“There was another real man there crying, looking at me. We nodded our heads. I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s okay to cry here.’ I don’t know, the Spirit hit me with so much conviction, and I felt so sorry. And that’s the moment where I said, ‘I want to give you my life, man. I want to give you my life,’” he said.

Some netizens reacting to Kevin-Prince Boateng’s interview stated, “The Holy Spirit is real…I can talk about it the whole day, week and months…The Holy Spirit helped me complete something in months that was taking me years to complete, doing it with my own strength. After encountering the Holy Spirit, he shortened the Journey for me”.

One netizen added, “There is a reason we cry whenever we feel His presence. Because even though consciously we might not understand, but our spirits are instantly able to identify with His undying love for us, it’s something more powerful than a magnet, we get sucked into it and it’s overwhelming”.

“So touching, but do you think the tattoo should be cleaned? Personally I think he has to clean it, but I’m open to suggestions”, another netizen added.

“Reject Ken Agyapong, he does not like Konkombas” – Nitiwul tells NPP delegates

0

Dominic Nitiwul, the Member of Parliament for Bimbilla and former Minister of Defence, has told NPP delegates in Bimbilla to reject Kennedy Agyapong.

According to Dominic Nitiwul, Kennedy Agyapong does not like Konkombas.

The Bimbilla lawmaker urged delegates to vote for Dr Bawumia, claiming that Konkombas across the country are supporting him.

He warned them that voting for Kennedy Agyapong would “disgrace” their community.

Dominic Nitiwul’s remarks have triggered anger across the party, with many condemning the MP for attempting to divide the party along tribal lines for political gain.

Some netizens reacting to the comments stated, “When people like Nitiwul campaign for Bawumia, the former toilet-and-bathroom vice president, it tells you who Nitiwul is. Equally short-minded and visionless”.

One more X user stated, “U guys have no shame. This video was in 2023, he was replying to the useless comment ur leader made against Northerners”.

A netizen added, “They should bear in their head that in case Bawumia win the primaries, they should dare step their foot on Akan land and doorstep to beg us to vote for Bawumia”

“This was in 2023. And he was reacting to the bigoted statements of your madafucker candidate when he said Akuffo-Addo had abandoned the central and western regions, whilst giving appointments to the northern region”, an X user added.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, has warned the Akans in the party that they will soon end up becoming servants if they are not united.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Akans must support their own, arguing that northern political actors within the NPP are uniting behind a single candidate, which could lead to Akans, whom he described as royals, becoming servants.

The former Assin Central lawmaker noted that there is a high level of disunity among the Akans groups within the NPP.

Speaking to NPP delegates in Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Ken Agyapong stated, “Let me tell you something. My grandparent told me something — that what is good is what is your own”.

Let us be very careful because we are making a mistake. Some people are able to get together and say, ‘This is our brother.’ But when it gets to our turn, we are not able to unite. We shall remain servants if we don’t change our minds. If we remain disunited, we shall remain servants for long. I’m speaking Twi to you, and I am not afraid of anyone. I will speak my mind.

When you go to some places, they will say, ‘I would have supported you, but if I show my face, they will say I’ve betrayed my brother.’ But as for you, an Abuakwa person, have you not betrayed your brother? What you would not be happy with if it were done to Kweku, don’t do it to Kwesi, he added.

Ken Agyapong further highlighted that minority tribes are threatening and discriminating against the majority Akan tribe, “I am surprised that we, the majority, sit down for the minority to discriminate against us. Tribal politics are going on, and it looks like you people have not seen it. The royals will soon become servants if we don’t change our attitude. I am telling you, and I’m not afraid”.

He boldly added, “Today I am standing in Nana Akufo-Addo’s hometown and speaking Twi to you. We are not afraid of anybody. In which country do you allow the minority to threaten the majority?

Only in Ghana. It is only in Ghana that we allow the minority to threaten the majority, and it is because we don’t love ourselves. Let your Akyem be of concern to you. If we don’t do that, they will take us for granted in Ghana”.

Seven petitions seeking the removal of Jean Mensa and deputies referred to CJ

0

The information gathered suggests President John Dramani Mahama has forwarded seven petitions seeking the removal of Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, and her two deputies.

The Joynews flyer read, “President Mahama refers seven petitions seeking the removal of Jean Menas and her two deputies, and three petitions for the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebent to the Chief Justice.

The petitioner added that the conduct of the three senior officials has eroded public confidence in the EC and poses a risk to the integrity and independence of Ghana’s electoral process.

He also argued that his actions are driven solely by the need to safeguard the Constitution and strengthen accountable governance.

However, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Government Spokesperson, has revealed he is not aware of any petition for the removal of the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa and her two deputies.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, he has no briefing that there’s any other such petition for the removal of Jean Mensa.

He further added that if there is a petition for the removal of the Electoral Commission Chairperson and deputies, Ghanaians will be told in the same way, the former Chief Justice petition became a public commentary.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on Tuesday, Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated, “I’m not aware of any other petition. At the very least, I don’t have a briefing that there’s any other such petition. But if such a petition exists, and it comes to the attention of the secretary’s office, the public will know, in the same way that the Chief Justice became a matter of public commentary because we put it out first, of course respecting the constitutional processes, the same thing will be done if indeed such a petition has come.”

He further explained why the Mahama administration is publicly updating Ghanaians on sensitive petitions against public office holders.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu explained, “Because, see, there’s a need for transparency and accountability. We hold this office in trust. Ten months ago, I was not the one doing this job. It was somebody else. So it’s not a position that we own. We pass through that position for a brief moment”.

“Whilst doing that, we use the mandate and resources of the people of Ghana to execute our roles. The same people need to know exactly what we are doing with their mandate and resources. If somebody has slapped in a petition about any public office holder, it’s only fair that we tell the public that this is what we have received. This is the defined process for dealing with this sort of thing, and this is what has been done.”

He added, “People shouldn’t just wake up one day and find that the Chief Justice has been… when nobody knew how that started in the first place.”

“It is purely in the interest of transparency and accountability that we keep the people informed, of course, within the confines of the law, so that we don’t do anything that violates the law, because we are not required, or we are not allowed to do that as a government.”

Mahama refers 3 petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to CJ

0

Reports gathered suggest President John Dramani Mahama has forwarded three petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to the Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.

It will be recalled, Shamima Muslim, the Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, received ‘Agro Ne Fom’ protestors petition demanding the removal of the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

Speaking to the media during the protest, Martin Kpebu, who was also a the protest, accused the Special Prosecutor of not telling Ghanaians the truth.

“He claimed that before Ofori-Atta travelled, he saw a letter the former minister wrote to both the outgoing chief of staff and the incoming chief of staff. How do you see such a letter?”

“He said he went to Immigration to seek help and didn’t get help. It has turned out to be false. He said he went to National Security for assistance to arrest Ofori-Atta and again claimed he didn’t get help. It has turned out to be false,” Kpebu continued.

“So when your Special Prosecutor comes to lie to Ghanaians that he was attempting to arrest Ofori-Atta, and yet he has no evidence, and the state institutions are denying it, that alone is sufficient grounds for Kissi Agyebeng to resign,” he stressed.

Mr Kpebu further invoked Ghana’s constitutional, “The constitution says that sovereignty resides in the people of Ghana. That is the centre of our constitution. The thing that holds our constitution together is the principle that ultimate power belongs to the people,” he explained.

“So once Ghanaians are the sovereign, if you are running a public institution and anybody is frustrating you—assuming without admitting that anyone is frustrating you, you must report to the people of Ghana so that they, as the owners of power, will know what to do,” he said.

“In this case, Kissi Agyebeng should have organised a press conference to inform Ghanaians that NIB, National Security, and Immigration were frustrating him,” Mr Kpebu concluded.

Apostle Abraham Lincoln Larbi also called on President Mahama to act swiftly to restore public confidence in anti-corruption institutions.

NPP will win 2028 elections with Ken Agyapong, but will lose with Bawumia – Prophet Roja

0

Prophet Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, has dropped a prophecy ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) January 31 presidential elections.

The man of God declared that the NPP with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will win the 2028 elections, but the party with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will lose the elections.

Speaking on Angel FM, Prophet Roja stated, “Kennedy first, Bawumia second, that is the win for 2028, but Bawumia first, Kennedy second, a loss for 2028, 100 per cent loss. When you say it like this, they do not listen because they do not regard you.

Prophet Roja had earlier stated that the NPP’s presidential primaries results would be different from the arrangements on the ballot paper positions.

He highlighted that the results will shock Ghanaians, as there is going to be a silent victory for one of the candidates.

Speaking in a viral video following the party’s balloting for the presidential primaries, Prophet Roja stated, “There would be rearrangements, definitely there would be rearrangements. Whether we like it or not, the results would be different from the arrangements on the ballot paper positions – the number two position would certainly change, you can record what I’m saying, save it somewhere”.

“It is going to shock people; it will be a silent win. There will be issues. The person leading has already won, but before the announcement, things will change. I have said this before, and I’m just reiterating.

Prophet Roja further noted that the NPP’s presidential primaries will be a tough one.

“The race is going to be very hot, and one person will be in pole position to win, but results from a few places will change everything”.

He added, “It is only four regions that would turn the election, and they are the Greater Accra Region, the Central Region, the Ashanti Region and the Eastern Region”.

Meanwhile, the Global InfoAnalytics latest poll has revealed that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia continues to dominate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

The Global InfoAnalytics revealed that the poll was conducted between 17th and 21st November 2025 among 3,500 delegates across all 16 regions.

The poll, however, shows that Dr Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong’s support has slightly declined since October.

Global InfoAnalytics’ likely voters’ model indicated that, “Dr Bawumia: 42.7%, Kennedy Agyapong: 17.7%, Dr Bryan Acheampong: 4.6%, Dr Yaw Adutwum: 0.3%, and Kwabena Adjei Agyapong: 0.3%”.

With 14.9% of delegates not disclosing their voting intentions, while 19.3% remain.

Also, committed voters, Dr Bawumia’s lead widens: “Dr Bawumia: 63.3%, Kennedy Agyapong: 28.6%, and Dr Acheampong: 6.9%”.

The poll revealed that Dr Bawumia leads in 13 regions, with Kennedy ahead only in the Volta region, with the Central region tied.

Furthermore, Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director, Global Info Analytics, has made a bold call that Kennedy Agyapong will win the Volta Region in NPP’s presidential primaries, Dr. Bawumia will win in the Eastern Region.

“Akufo-Addo’s bodyguard fainted because he was starving” – Afram Plains MP claims

0

The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South, Joseph Appiah, has claimed former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo starved his bodyguard, leading to him fainting.

It will be recalled, on Friday, January 3, 2025, during President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address, Colonel Isaac Amponsah, the personal security guard and Aide-de-Camp (ADC), collapsed in Parliament.

According to reports, Colonel Amponsah reportedly suffered a medical emergency while the President was addressing the House. He later regained consciousness and was escorted out of the chamber.

Colonel Amponsah served as the President’s ADC since February 2023.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, according to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP, Akufo-Addo plunged the country into a state of hardship, adding that everyone in Ghana under the former president, including the former President’s close associates, experienced hunger.

He claimed that Colonel Amponsah fainted because he was starving.

Joseph Appiah stated, “Always his people go hungry. That’s why we were starving. And it was manifest in this chamber when the former President’s bodyguard fainted because he was hungry…under Mahama’s administration, this would not happen, that is why he is serving free fertiliser”.

However, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, immediately compelled the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South to withdraw his comments.

Bernard Ahiafor ordered, “Honourable Joseph Appiah, please withdraw that… kindly withdraw”.

The Afram Plains MP responded by withdrawing, saying, “Okay, I withdraw”.

Still in parliament, Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in parliament, has boldly declared that the former government’s contract with Zipline for the drone delivery of essential medicines was a total waste of money.

It will be recalled, the former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, launched the drones-for-medical-supplies initiative at Zipline’s first distribution centre at Omenako in the Eastern Region.

The $12.5 million contract was to enable the Ghana Health Service to fly blood and other essential medical supplies to deprived and hard-to-reach areas.

Let’s focus on real issues, not religious doctrines and hairstyles – Ablakwa on SHS brouhaha

0

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has said Ghana needs to focus on real issues confronting its educational system over minor issues.

Meanwhile, Haruna Iddrisu, the Education Minister, speaking on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, emphasised that the rights of every Ghanaian child must be respected and protected.

He stated, “There is some ongoing debate on restrictions on Muslim students in Wesley Girls, which conflicts with international human rights standards and even standards expected of us in Ghana’s Constitution and under Article 33(5) and 26(1) of the Constitution.

“We have a duty to uphold the rights of every Ghanaian child and to uphold the rights of every Ghanaian citizen. No right is divisible. We will not countenance any action by any person to deny any Ghanaian girl the opportunity to practice any religion,” he said.

Also, there was a social media debate regarding Senior High School (SHS) students cutting their long hair before reporting to school.

However, Haruna Iddrisu boldly declared, they will not tolerate long hair today or tomorrow in SHS.

He highlighted that if long hairs are accepted in schools, tomorrow it will be shoes the next day the uniforms students wear in SHS.

Speaking to patrons of the 75th anniversary of Mawuli School in the Volta Region, Haruna Iddrisu stated, “There is an ongoing debate on social media about haircuts and the size and length of hair in secondary school.

We will not tolerate it today; we will not tolerate it tomorrow in so long as we are moulding character. If we give in to hair today, tomorrow it will be shoes, and the next day it will be the way they dress”.

He added, “Therefore, as part of our disciplinary measures, headmasters and GES, you are therefore empowered to take full control of how students behave on your campuses.

Anybody who thinks your child will walk into any institution of learning as if that child forgives my words—were to attend a beauty contest, the school environment is not for that purpose and is not cut for that purpose and will not tolerate that as an institution,” he stated.

“NPP can mark you” – Maurice Ampaw warns Tamale High Court Judge

0

Maurice Ampaw, a Legal practitioner, has issued a stern warning to the Tamele High Court Judge Justice Plange following his ruling for a rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary election.

According to Maurice Ampaw, Justice Plange’s decision could lead to potential repercussions as the NPP could mark him down.

The private legal practitioner cautioned the Tamele High Court Judge Justice Plange that the NPP can snub him when he is due for promotion or even deal with him.

Speaking in an interview on his Mmra No Se Sen show on Wontumi TV, Ampaw warned, “Judges can be marked down, and they can say they will deal with you like they did to Torkonoo. Don’t let the NPP mark you down, Justice Plange. If they do, who caused it? They can sit on your promotion or deal with you.

So, when you are making a ruling, think about the future,” he sad.

“Remember what Justice Baffoe-Bonnie said, that he was thinking about the future. So, they should ask him, if he were the Kpandai MP, would he be happy about the decision?”, he quizzed.

His caution comes on the heels of the Tamale High Court, on November 24, 2025, ordering the rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary election within 30 days.

According to the High Court, the Electoral Commission has within 30 days from today to conduct the rerun.

His Lordship Emmanuel Brew Plange made this declaration following the legal challenge of the 2024 parliamentary election by the former Member of Parliament (MP) and the NDC, Daniel Nsala Wakpal.

Meanwhile, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has declared that Matthew Nyindam, the Kpandai Member of Parliament, remains an active MP despite the Tamale High Court’s annulment.

According to Speaker Bagbin, though the high court invalidates the earlier declaration of Matthew Nyindam as MP, it cannot take immediate action.

He explained that the law provides for a mandatory seven-day stay of execution in all appealable High Court rulings.

Speaker Bagbin noted that since the ruling was delivered on November 24, 2025, the stay remains in force until December 1, 2025.

Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, November 26, Alban Bagbin explained, “The effect of the order, to my understanding, is that the EC is to conduct a rerun election within 30 days, implying that the original declaration of Hon. Matthew Nyindam as winner is invalid and the member is no longer an MP”.

“During this period, the High Court ruling cannot form the basis for the Speaker to instruct the Clerk to notify the Electoral Commission that the Kpandai seat is vacant,” he said.

“I, however, bring to the attention of the House the provisions of the Court of Appeal Rules, 1997 (CI 19) as amended by CI 132, rule 27(3). It provides that there shall be a stay of execution of the judgment or decision appealed against for a period of seven days immediately following the giving of notice of the judgment or decision.”

“Honourable Members, this is not a declaratory order; it is an executive order delivered by the High Court,” Speaker Bagbin added.

Muslim girls in Wesley Girls’ being spied on – Interior Minister blows alarm

0

Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, the Minister of Interior, has revealed that the school authorities at Wesley Girls‘ have asked girls to spy on muslim girls to make sure they don’t pray.

According to the Interior Minister, Muslim girls in Wesley Girls’ hide to pray as students spy on them.

He lamented that Ghana is playing with something that can degenerate our society.

Speaking on JoyNews on November 29, 2025, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka detailed, “Let me say this. And I sit here with the greatest of respect and with all my integrity. Wesley Girls ask girls to spy on even the Muslim girls to make sure they don’t pray. I’m told they hide. They have to hide to pray. Look, we are playing with something that, I’m sorry to say, can degenerate our society”.

“In the case of Muslims, women alone do not even do Friday prayers. It’s not even mandatory for a female, that’s why you see, when you go to most of our Friday prayers, you don’t even see them in large numbers, but see the elderly because it’s not mandatory,” he said.

Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka further acknowledged some institutions that allow students of different religious faiths to practice freely without restrictions.

He mentioned the Presbyterian SHS and Achimota, praising them for providing space for students to worship.

He added, “My second-born attended Presbyterian Secondary School. They only have a place where they worship. It’s not a mosque, but they give them a space where they can worship.

“In Achimota, they’re given a place where they can worship, but they adhere to all the school rules. During break time, the prayer takes sometimes five minutes. Don’t criminalise it because they are criminalising on those campuses,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Most Rev. Prof. Johnson K, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, has said the Wesley Girls’ High School (WGHS) has accepted all faiths for over 189 years.

According to the Methodist Church, Wesley Girls High School is not engaged in any discriminatory practices since its founding in 1836 by Harriet Wrigley.

The statement highlighted that for nearly two centuries, the school has educated students from diverse faiths.

The Church revealed it has not been formally notified about the court case, but they are taking steps to obtain official records to enable its legal team to respond appropriately.

Parts of the statement issued by the Methodist Church read, “Over the years, WGHS has educated Methodists, Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims, Eckists, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, Catholics, Anglicans, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and many others who have gone on to contribute meaningfully to society,” the Church said.

“The Methodist Church Ghana considers discrimination to be fundamentally inconsistent with Christian teaching, and therefore incompatible with our mission,” the statement added.

They emphasised that the school’s traditions and rules are designed to maintain unity, structure and fairness across the student body, warning that creating separate systems of living and worship for different faith groups would “inevitably lead to segregation and undermine the cohesion and collective traditions of the school.”

“We recognise and respect the constitutional right of every student to practice her faith or non-faith within the framework of WGHS traditions.”

The commotion follows Shafic Osman, a Ghanaian lawyer and PhD candidate at the London School of Economics, who sued Wesley Girls’ Senior High School and the Government at the Supreme Court.

The case filed cited Wesley Girls’ restricting Muslim students from wearing the hijab, fasting during Ramadan, and practising other aspects of their faith.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ordered the Wesley Girls Senior High School to formally respond to allegations that it prevents Muslim students from practising their religion in the school.

“When NPP big members were hiding under tables, Bawumia stood up” – Okyere Baafi

0

Michael Okyere Baafi, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, has recounted how former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, defended the New Patriotic Party over the years.

The New Juaben South cited the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court in which Bawumia was the chief witness for the NPP for 8 months.

According to Michael Okyere Baafi, when things were tough in Ghana, and some NPP big members were hiding, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stood tall and defended the party.

Speaking to delegates of his constituency in Koforidua, Michael Okyere Baafi described those who hide under a table as cowards who are now making noise, claiming they are real party members.

Michael Okyere Baafi stated, “When it was very tough in Ghana here, and some NPP big members were hiding under tables, he was the one who stood up for the party,” Otchere Baafi said, referencing the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court, which Bawumia was the chief witness for the NPP for 8 months.

He defended the party in the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court after the NPP was cheated at the polls. Some of the cowards who went into hiding are now out saying they are the real party members and Dr Bawumia is not a true member.”

He added, “The person who stood up and defended the party at the Supreme Court and ensured that many election reforms were implemented to pave the way for the NPP to win power, is the one I am endorsing, and I am urging all of you to support on January 31.”

“I’m saying that the 31st January election is not a joke. It’s a crucial election, and we need an experienced person. We need someone who has been well-marketed and is well-known by Ghanaians. That person is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” the MP said.

Also, Francis Asenso Boakye, the member of parliament for Bantama, has told the New Patriotic Party (NPP) it will be suicidal to change Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer.

According to Asenso Boakye, Dr Bawumia T-shirts and billboards are all over the place, so there is no need to change him.

The Bantama MP was quoted by Oyerepa TV to have said, “It will be politically suicidal if we change Dr Bawumia as our flagbearer, his T-shirts and billboards are all over the place, so why change him?”

“IGP Yohuno alive and well” – Ghana Police Service

0

The Ghana Police Service has debunked widespread rumours suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, had passed away.

According to the Ghana Police Service, IGP Yohuno is alive, in good health, and discharging his mandate.

The Police statement stated, “IGP MR. CHRISTIAN TETTEH YOHUNO IS ALIVE AND WELL AND DISCHARGING HIS MANDATE

The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to some speculation that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, is deceased”.

Meanwhile,  President John Mahama has approved a two-year contract extension for the IGP, allowing him to stay in office beyond his statutory retirement date in December 2025.

The decision was signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, following a recommendation from the Police Council.

The re-engagement takes effect from 28 December 2025, during which Yohuno will remain in office.

According to the presidency, the extension is meant to ensure continuity, stability and the consolidation of ongoing reforms within the Service.

The approval allows IGP Yohuno, who was appointed earlier this year, to continue leading the Ghana Police Service for the next two years.

IGP Yohuno has been lauded for improving police visibility, improving crime response strategies, and advancing community policing.

Also, reports had earlier suggested, COP Lydia Donkor is tipped to replace IGP Yohuno, who is near his retirement age in December 2025.

According to the Ghana Chronicles, over the past two weeks, multiple closed-door meetings have focused on the succession of IGP Tetteh Yohonu.

It revealed that an action within the Police Council is strongly advocating for COP Lydia Yakubu Donkor to take over as the next Inspector General of Police.

The information had alleged that there is a rowing division within the Police Council, chaired by Vice-President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, over the search for a new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to replace the incumbent, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who is scheduled to retire on December 27, 2025.

The Chronciles is in a post, “While some members of the Council are reportedly lobbying for Yohuno to remain in post and have written to President John Mahama in support of this, a silent majority are said to believe he should step aside to allow for a reset of the Police Service under new leadership, one that brings fresh ideas, motivation, innovation, and modern policing approaches that leverage technology to combat sophisticated crimes, including cybercrime.

Those pushing the President to grant the IGP a post-retirement contract are thought to be placing him in a potentially awkward position, risking his reputation as a leader who keeps his word, particularly after winning public approval for terminating post-retirement contracts across the public sector.

The upper echelons of the Police Service still reflect remnants of the Akufo-Addo-era hierarchy, including senior officers such as Yohuno, who served as Director-General of Police Operations before becoming Deputy IGP under the previous administration”.

“Let’s take inspiration from the NDC and win power” – Afenyo-Markin tells NPP members

0

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority Leader in Parliament, has told his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members to take inspiration from the NDC for the party to win back power in 2028.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on November 28, 2025, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Whoever thought John Mahama could be president again?

Also,  Afenyo-Markin has told his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members that when they are united, no evil can touch them.

Afenyo-Markin made these remarks when he recounted how Nana B came to his home around 4 a.m. to urge him to go and represent Abronye in court.

Speaking on Movement TV, Afenyo-Markin stated, “At dawn, I was scrolling through social media, and around 4 am, Nana B called me. When I picked he told me he was at my gate. When he came inside, he told me they had taken Abronye to court”.

He further revealed that when they arrived, the judge was visibly shaken by the presence of numerous high-profile NPP figures who had turned up to support Abronye.

Afenyo-Markin further emphasised that the turnout was a clear demonstration of the strength of unity within the party, noting that if the NPP remains united, nothing can bring them down.

He added, “After a few. Days of public outcry, the Attorney General himself went for variation, so have you seen the power in unity? It was a wake-up call that when we are united, as a party, no evil can touch any of us.

Meanwhile, Francis Asenso Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama and the former Roads and Highways Minister, has alleged that some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters sponsored John Mahama to defeat Dr Bawumia in the 2024 election.

According to Francis Asenso‑Boakye, the NPP supporters, unhappy with Dr Bawumia leading the party as a flagbearer in the 2024 elections, sponsored John Mahama ahead of the December 2024 polls.

“Retrieve all gov’t tablets immediately” – Eduwatch tells GES following pornography crisis

0

Leading education policy think tank Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch) has demanded that the Ghana Education Service (GES) immediately retrieve all the former Akufo-Addo government tablets over the pornography crisis in the SHSs.

Eduwatch called on the GES to immediately retrieve the devices from all Senior High School (SHS) students to install robust safety controls.

Kofi Nkansah Sarkodie, Project Management Specialist at Eduwatch, stated, “Those tablets have already been procured and distributed. We recommend that GES retrieve them and ensure that the safety measures are fully implemented.”

“Retrieval can be done at the school level, and the necessary safeguards must be deployed. The devices are intended for academic purposes only, to support students’ learning, and not for any other activity.”

Their demand comes on the heels of Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, who has bemoaned concerns over some students using government-provided tablets to watch pornography content and other non-academic activities.

The Education Minister, speaking on the floor of parliament, noted that 980,000 of the 1.3 million tablets distributed to Senior High Schools nationwide without being restricted to academic use.

Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, November 27, Haruna Iddrisu detailed, “I inherited a contract with about 337 million US dollars, where some 1.3 million tablets were to be distributed across the country to all free senior high schools in the country so that learners can have access to digital tools. I’m told that the deployment of that is around 980,000”.

He added, “Mr Speaker, my attention was drawn to the fact that many of the devices are not customised and the students are using them for other purposes, including pornography, which is not acceptable.”

“Mr Speaker, the government is taking a high view of it, and there must be restrictions as to what the tablets can be used for, and they should be used strictly for the purpose of study,” he said.

Some netizens reacting to the Education Minister’s comment on the floor of parliament stated, “At the end of the day, these things come with ups and downs. Best we can do is to curb it. Moreover, a chunk of these students are adults, hence they should know what’s best for them in most cases”.

One netizen added, “They should just block those sites. I think it’s done for many. Even at workplaces, they are able to block some sites”.

An X user also added, “This is a poor implementation of technology.

Websites and apps can be easily blocked on devices. It is the easiest thing to do.

Why distribute the devices when you haven’t done these?

Oh, Oman Ghana. Every day we take two steps forward, three steps backwards”.

“This doesn’t make any sense. I was listening to Joy FM morning show, and it was clearly stated that the distributed tablets don’t have access to certain sites, which include pornography sites, so how come students are now getting access to these sites??? Are we really serious?”, one more Ghanaian wrote.

One more netizen wrote, “Educate users on how to utilise the device for its intended purpose, or customise the tablets with controls that restrict their use to specific functions. Simply purchasing for them is not enough if it is not properly managed to meet its intended goals”.

“We will appeal scandalous High Court ruling” – Akosua Serwaa’s Lawyer

0

The legal counsel for Akosua Serwaa, wife of the late Daddy Lumba, William Kusi, has revealed that her client has ordered him to appeal the Kumasi High Court decision.

According to William Kusi, as a learned professional, he cannot align himself with decisions he described as scandalous.

Speaking in an interview with Dadzie TV on November 28, 2025, William Kusi stated, “I am a learned person, and I can’t align myself with decisions which are scandalous, and I cannot defend. I just spoke with my client, and she said we should appeal against it, and I agree with her. We will prosecute and appeal”.

“She said Akosua Serwaa was unable to prove that she married Lumba in Germany. In fact, she said something like, ‘As for marriage in Germany, it is proven by documents, so if someone claims by just word of mouth that they got married in Germany, it’s not enough unless there is documentation.’ She added that the documents we brought to court cannot be accepted because Akosua Serwaa’s and Lumba’s signatures are not in them,” he explained.

He added, “The most scandalous part of her statement was that she said we only went to forge some documents to claim it is a certificate, which impugns our integrity as lawyers. To me, it’s scandalous”.

Akosua Serwaa’s appeal decision follows, the Kumasi High Court declaring that Akosua Serwaa Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, as the surviving spouses of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

The court presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith‑Arthur ruled that Akosua Serwaa cannot be declared the sole surviving spouse, as the evidence she provided did not affirm her claims.

During proceedings on Friday, November 28, evidence showed Odo Broni was customarily married to Daddy Lumba before his passing.

The court also highlighted that Akosua Serwaa was customarily married to Daddy Lumba, but rejected her alleged German marriage certificate presented as it was not an original certificate.

The court ruled that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni are recognised as surviving wives of Daddy Lumba and must be acknowledged by the Abusuapanyin in the performance of the widowhood rites.

The plaintiff, Akosua Serwaa Fosu, was seeking a court declaration that she is the only surviving wife of the late musician, allowing her to have exclusive authority to carry out all widowhood rituals.

She was also demanding that the court restrain Odo Broni from falsely claiming to be the late singer’s wife.

Meanwhile, out of court, the family of highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, commonly known as Daddy Lumba, has said the late music icon’s funeral, slated for December 13, 2025, is unauthorised, misleading and does not reflect the family’s decision.

Lumba’s family, in their statement, further dismissed a widely circulated funeral date of December 13, 2025, adding that the date was unauthorised, misleading, and not reflective of any family determination.

The late Daddy Lumba’s family sighted that the proposed date was never agreed upon and is impracticable due to ongoing autopsy processes and investigations in Ghana and Germany, also Children abroad preparing for major examinations.

They further detailed that family members require adequate notice to apply for leave, with International mourners needing time to make travel arrangements.

The family further accused Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu of illegally withdrawing GHS 200,000 from a CalBank account.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 24, the family revealed that Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu had illegally withdrawn GHS 200,000 despite a court directive barring him from performing financial transactions.

“Politicising zipline endangers lives” – Okoe Boye warns

0

Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the former Minister of Health, has warned the John Mahama-led government against the cancellation of the Zipline drone delivery system.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Friday, November 28, Dr Okoe Boye explained, “If a centre does not have a blood-related product and needs it urgently, when you WhatsApp Zipline, they will fly with the stock they have and drop the vaccine at the hospital compound”.

“By doing this, you save time calling people. If you have to drive five hours, it could be done by Zipline in 25 minutes.”

He added, “This talk is an attempt to ridicule the whole project and throw it away. Sometimes, too much politics can endanger lives”.

“The essence of a politician or a leader is not to rest and make yourself comfortable but to work so hard that those far away from you can receive some help when they need it most,” he added.

Oko Boye’s remarks follow, Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in parliament, who has boldly declared that the former government’s contract with Zipline for the drone delivery of essential medicines was a total waste of money.

Moment Akufo-Addo reacts after his name is mentioned in place of the late Nana Konadu Rawlings

0

A viral video has surfaced following thousands of Ghanaians yesterday, November 28, 2025, who bid a final farewell to the country’s longest-serving First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

There was a hilarious moment which brought smiles to the faces of the mourners.

During the State Funeral held in honour in memroy of Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings at the Independence Square in Accra, there was awkward but also hilarious moments when one of the officiating ministers at the event mistakenly replaced the name of the late former First Lady with that of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Priest, concluding with his prayer, stated, “Through Jesus Christ our Lord, may He grant a sweet repose to the soul of our dear sister, Her Excellency ‘Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’.”

Realising his mistake, the priest immediately shook his head and corrected his mistake immediately.

The cameras at the event then immediately captured the former president and those around him laughing after the Priest’s mistake.

The mention of Akufo-Addo in place of the late Nana Konadu Rawlings drew laughter from many.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the man of God’s blunder stated, “The name ‘Nana’ triggers a flashback to the past president’s reign. It’s not his fault”.

“After shaking his head, he was like the devil is a liar”, a netizen added.

“E be like pastor no forgive addo D for the haircut ooh .. pastor say stiiiiiiirrrrrrr addo d for go 6 feet”, another Ghanaian added.

Additionally, a netizen added, “Even me here, I was like Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang. It’s not his fault. Anyway, may our Veep live longer, Amen”.

“Asiedu Nketia charged through the storm to make Mahama president again” – Afenyo-Markin

0

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Alexander Afenyo-Markin revealed he respects Asiedu Nketia a lot despite their political disagreement.

According to Afenyo-Markin, after the 2016 elections, when President Mahama lost by one million votes, everyone thought that Mahama was done, but Asiedu Nketia charged through the storm when the party was in a mess to make him president again in 2024.

Speaking on Peace FM, Afenyo-Markin stated, “Whoever believed that John Mahama could ever become president again, let’s face facts. In 2016, when President Mahama lost by one million votes, it took somebody like Asiedu Nketia to charge through the storm.

That man, I respect him a lot, put all the disagreement aside politically, when the NDC was in a disarray, when nobody had hope because in 2016 the margin was huge, people thought Mahama was over, they were done with Mahama, and his time had elapsed, so it was a matter of time”.

In related news, Prophet Telvin Sowah, a Ghanaian man of God, has boldly prophesied that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, will become Ghana’s president in 2028.

According to Prophet Telvin Sowah, Asiedu Nketia will become Ghana’s president in 2028 and will serve for two terms.

He emphasised that the New Patriotic Party in 2028 will garner 44.78 per cent in the election, with the NDC winning by 53 per cent.

Speaking in an interview on Accra FM, shared on TikTok, Prophet Telvin Sowah stated, “NPP results 2028, 44.78 per cent, NDC presidential results are 53 per cent. Asiedu Nketia will be the president of Ghana in 2028, and he will serve for 8 years”.

Prophet Telvin Sowah further added that Nana Kwame Bediako of the New Force will one day become Ghana’s president, adding that Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyeremanten will also team up.

He added, “Nana Kwame Bediako will become the president of Ghana; it is merged in time, Kennedy Agyapong will team up with Alan Kyeremanten to shake the NPP for 2032 and in that condition, they will still lose the elections”.

Even if Kennedy Agyapong wins the flagbearer elections, he will still not get up to 36 per cent of the total vote. There is no possibility of a time when Ken became a running mate and they went for the election; it does not exist in time. But in the original space of the timeline, there is no possibility that Kennedy Agyapong will win the election; it is done and dusted. He will not win the flagbearership election, so he will not be able to contest for the election”, the man of God highlighted

Meanwhile, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, has urged fellow NPP members to be united and capitalise on social media to garner support for the party ahead of the 2028 elections.

According to Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Social media will play 40 to 50 per cent of the 2028 elections, and if the NPP lose on social media, they are doomed.

He emphasised that if the NPP fails to win the 2028 presidential election, Ghana is going to have Asiedu Nketiah as president.

The battleground is in Kpandai, NDC is ready, NPP better campaign – Dafeamekpor

0

Rockson Dafeamekpor, the Majority Chief Whip, has told the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prepare for the re-run of the Kpandai Parliamentary election.

Dafeamekpor boldly told the NPP, the battleground is in Kpandai, not in the foyer of Parliament.

According to him, the NDC are already in Kpandai campaigning, adding that the NPP won’t campaign but when they lose will come and blame innocent people.

Addressing journalists in Parliament on November 28, 2025, Dafeamekpor stated, “We are here to set the record straight that they lost the matter, and they are dazed. The battleground is in Kpandai, not in the foyer of Parliament. The job is on the ground. We, the NDC, are on the ground. We are working”.

“As we speak, the NDC is working. We are in Kpandai. We are campaigning. They won’t come and campaign, and when they lose, they blame innocent people,” he added.

However, Yussif Danjumah, the Northern Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said his party will defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) hand down if the party decides to contest in Kpandai re-run.

He revealed that the NPP is unbothered by the ongoing campaign activities by the NDC following the High Court ruling.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Friday, November 28, Danjumah stated, “NPP will beat NDC hands down if we decide to contest in the re-run of the Kpandai election. NPP will take part in the Kpandai re-election, and we’re not afraid at all. We will reclaim the seat.  We’re challenging the ruling; this is very unfair”.

“NDC is campaigning because they know they lost the election, and these are the shenanigans we’re talking about. How did they know they were going to get a favourable judgment? He asked.

He added, “They started jubilating even before the judge delivered his ruling. That is completely unfair. We’re not perturbed about the NDC’s campaign. Even if we’re to use one week to compete with NDC and win, we will do that”.

Immediately reinstate Afenyo-Markin on Ghana’s ECOWAS delegation and apologise – Minority demands

0

Patricia Appiagyei, the Deputy Minority Leader, has demanded the immediate reinstatement of Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin on Ghana’s ECOWAS delegation.

The minority also demanded a public apology from both the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin and the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga.

According to the minority, the referral of the Minority Leader to the Privileges Committee for contempt is an international embarrassment.

Speaking to journalists in Parliament on Friday, November 28, Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei stated, “We demand the immediate withdrawal of the Privileges Committee petition. It is a gross abuse of process and an affront to justice. A public apology from the Speaker and the Majority Leader to ECOWAS and to the people of Ghana is necessary for the international embarrassment they have caused.

“We demand an end to the coordinated persecution of the Minority Leader by the Attorney-General’s office, NDC operatives and party foot soldiers,” she added.

The minority demands follow the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, referring Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to the Privileges Committee for further investigation after embarrassing Ghana’s parliament in Nigeria.

Speaker Bagbin’s decision follows Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga’s petitioning him after the minority leader was excluded from Ghana’s ECOWAS delegation, but still showed up at the ECOWAS parliament in Nigeria.

Speaking on the floor of parliament on Thursday, November 27, the Speaker told the House, “I refer the complaint against the Minority Leader to the Privileges Committee and report to the House.”

“I urge the Committee to discharge its mandate with decorum and impartiality. I urge MPs to refrain from public commentary,” he added.

It will be recalled that in July 2025, Parliament adopted the composition of Ghana’s delegation to the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Majority Leader moved the motion and proposed amendments, including the replacement of the Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, with his deputy, Patricia Appiagyei, to meet the 30% female quota specified by ECOWAS.

He also changed Dr Bryan Acheampong as observer and made Millicent Yeboah Amankwah a member of the delegation.

Speaking on the floor of parliament on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Ayariga recounted, “Mr Speaker, I think somewhere on the 22nd of July [2025], this House passed a resolution constituting the delegation of Ghana to the ECOWAS Community Parliament. Mr Speaker, if you recall, we had removed the name of the Minority Leader, Honourable Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Member for Effutu, from the list of Ghana’s delegation to the ECOWAS Community Parliament,” he said.

“Mr Speaker, this resolution of this Parliament was communicated to the ECOWAS Parliament by, I believe, your good self. The ECOWAS Community Parliament convened to sit in Port Harcourt in the River State of Nigeria from the 25th to the 28th of September 2025,” he said.

Ayariga continued, “Our Parliament’s delegation, as constituted by our resolution, went to Port Harcourt and found the Honorable Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin sitting there, refusing to give way as directed by this Parliament.”

The Majority leader noted that when it was time for the new delegation to be sworn in, the ECOWAS Parliament initially refused, citing the conduct of Afenyo-Markin as disobedience.

He recounted, “Indeed, whilst our nominated delegation was there and it was time to swear in members, the ECOWAS Parliament refused to swear in Ghana’s delegation. They refused to swear in Ghana’s delegation and said that they will not (sic) …. They caved in and swore in four members of our delegation. Mr Speaker Afenyo-Markin was at that session of the ECOWAS Parliament, attended the session of the ECOWAS Parliament in clear defiance of a resolution of this Parliament”.

“I feared arrest, so I didn’t hit her back” – Man beaten by girlfriend speaks

0

A man in a viral video who was beaten by a woman now identified as his girlfriend has broken his silence.

According to the physically assaulted man, he did not retaliate when his girlfriend was assaulting him because he feared being arrested.

The man is quoted by Metro TV to have stated, “I feared arrest, so I didn’t hit her back”.

Also speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Ezra TV, later shared on X, the man explained the genesis of the attack.

He revealed that the misunderstanding has to do with a phone she promised to get her girlfriend after she complained about her phone being spoiled.

The man explained, “I have lived with her for four months. About a week ago, she came to visit me and complained about her phone. I asked her to see a friend of mine who sells phones so she could get another one.

When she got there, my friend’s phone was off, so she thought I was lying to her. When she returned, some gentlemen were in my house, and they told her that I always buy phones for ladies. That’s why she got angry and started beating me”.

He further revealed the woman’s occupation, saying, “She cooks food for galamseyers at Tepa.”

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has busted a woman seen in a viral video assaulting a man.

According to the Police, the suspect has been identified as Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa.

The Police revealed she was arrested at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

UTV Ghana sharing the news on X wrote, “The police have arrested a woman seen in a viral video assaulting a man.

The suspect, Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, was arrested at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region. A second suspect, Stephen Ofori, was arrested at Nkawie for his role in the incident.

Both are currently in custody, while authorities continue to search for three other suspects still at large”.

The arrest follows the disturbing video that surfaced on social media of a young Ghanaian woman assaulting a young man mercilessly.

In the viral video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X, the young woman was captured slapping the man, insulting him in the process as well.

The woman, throughout the beating assault, stated, “You are foolish, didn’t they teach you sense”.

She later picked up her slippers and continued to assault the man, with some group of men looking on, only trying to tell the woman to stop.

The assaulted man was later scolded by his colleagues in the presence of the woman.

“Zipline’s contract is a total waste of money” – Majority Leader

0

Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in parliament, has boldly declared that the former government’s contract with Zipline for the drone delivery of essential medicines was a total waste of money.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, last year 2024, shared the reasons why he initiated the establishment of ZIPLINE Drone operations in Ghana.

Speaking at a Youth Connect event as part of his campaign leading to the 2024 elections, Dr Bawumia explained, “Today, we have brought drones into Ghana to deliver medicines, vaccines, and blood. Many people were dying needlessly because they could not get medicine on time. A snake can bite you on the farm, and you need medicine—anti-ssnake serum immediately. A mother can be giving birth in a village and needs blood immediately. In 2002, my father had an operation in Tamale and he was losing blood. We were looking for blood; the blood bank was locked. We tried to find the operator, but we couldn’t find him. By the morning, my father had passed away,” Bawumia narrated.

He added, “So when I heard about drones and ZIPLINE and what they could do in delivering blood, I took my team and went to San Francisco. We met the ZIPLINE company, and we convinced them to come to Ghana and set up six drone centres in Ghana. We have six drone centres which are delivering medicines, blood, and vaccines to 2700 hospitals and health centres in Ghana.

Every day, we are saving lives. So far, the drones have flown 540,000 flights, and what is interesting is that all six drone centres are managed by Ghanaians; no foreigners are managing the drone centres. Hundred per cent being manned by Ghanaians”.

“It is very important that recently the US Vice President, Kamala Harris, made a statement congratulating Ghana for taking the lead and the leadership role in medical drone delivery. Why did she say so? Because your own Ghana, our own Ghana, is the whole world’s largest medical drone delivery service, the whole world.

We are leading the whole world. A few months ago, ZIPLINE came and took somebody from Ghana to go and train drone flying operators in San Francisco. And so we are taking the lead,” Bawumia added.

Rawlings faked joining a choir just to win Nana Konadu’s heart – Former first lady’s biography

0

In the biography of the late former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, mourners got to read an intimate story of how the former First Lady met her husband, the late President Jerry John Rawlings.

According to excerpts of her biography read during the former First Lady’s state funeral, revealed that Nana Konadu was raised in a Protestant household and joined the choir at her church at the age of 15.

During a choir practice session in 1963, a young man by the name of Jerry John Rawlings joined the choir.

It detailed that Rawlings had neither interest in the chorus nor in worship that day and only joined to win his future wife’s attention.

The biography reads, “She recounts that at the age of 15, in Protestant choir practice, Jerry John suddenly showed up to join the Protestant choir.

“What made this more shocking was that Rawlings himself was raised a Catholic. So, while many thought that his switch was out of religious reasons, the real motive was entirely different”.

It continued, “It was much later that she would find out that Jerry John had no interest in being part of the choir. He had joined the choir to be close to her”.

That bold gesture later evolved into a marriage in 1977, marking the beginning of their relationship that endured decades.

Meanwhile, thousands of Ghanaians yesterday, November 28, 2025, will bid a final farewell to the country’s longest-serving First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

The late First Lady’s state funeral will take place at the Black Star Square yesterday.

The ceremony will be organised under the auspices of President John Dramani Mahama.

The state burial honoured Mrs Rawlings for her remarkable dedication and significant contributions to the promotion of women’s and children’s rights, as well as her service to national development.

The late First Lady passed away in the early hours of Thursday, 23 October, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

She served as Ghana’s longest First Lady from 1981 to 2001 as the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Serving from June 4, 1979, to September 24, 1979, under the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC).

Also from December 31, 1981, to January 6, 1993, under the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), and also during her husband’s two constitutional terms from January 7, 1993, to January 6, 2001.

She also created the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) in 1982, a movement created to empower women in Ghana through initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, education, and political participation.

“I promised to buy her a new phone” – Man beaten by girlfriend breaks silence

0

A man in a viral video who was beaten by a woman, now identified as his girlfriend, has explained the genesis of the attack.

The man revealed that the misunderstanding has to do with a phone she promised to get her girlfriend after she complained about her phone being spoiled.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Ezra TV, later shared on X, the man explained the genesis of the attack.

Also, the assaulted man added that he did not retaliate when his girlfriend was assaulting him because he feared being arrested.

The man is quoted by Metro TV to have stated, “I feared arrest, so I didn’t hit her back”.

The woman, throughout the beating assault, stated, “You are foolish, didn’t they teach you sense?”

She later picked up her slippers and continued to assault the man, with some group of men looking on, only trying to tell the woman to stop.

The assaulted man was later scolded by his colleagues in the presence of the woman.

See the alleged image of Agradaa in jail going viral on social media

An alleged image of the founder of the Heavenway Champion International Ministry, Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Mama Pat, alias Agradaa, in jail has caused a stir on social media.

In the alleged image of Agradaa in jail, the controversial televangelist looks way different from her usual light-skinned tone. The image widely captured the alleged Agradaa, dark in complexion, seated in what looks like a jail.

It is yet to be verified if the viral image circulating on social media is really Agradaa.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the viral image stated, “make you people forgive Agradaa cause her current look in the cells is so bad. From Fanta to Coke”.

“Is that Agradaa?”, a netizen quizzed.

A netizen added, “She simply stopped bleaching. That’s her. Mind u, she wasn’t bleaching with lotion but injections, which can’t be administered in prison”

“Guys, guys,..wear your detective glasses and spy this picture well..is it really her ?..wow”, one more X user wrote.

“If this a truly a picture from the prison saying is agradaa, then I will say she’s not in prison. Someone is paid to be in there for her. She’s somewhere enjoying”, a netizen alleged.

One X user added, “So the court is so useless that they can identify her when she appears in front of them for her other case? Some of you de3”

The viral images have surfaced following Osofo Appiah Biblical, who offered a striking account of Nana Agradaa, also known as Evangelist Mama Pat, describing her as visibly transformed and ‘pitiful.’

Sofo Appiah Biblically revealed that his case with incarcerated Rev. Patricia Asiamah is not yet concluded.

He further expressed deep sadness for Agradaa, whom he claims has changed significantly and become very withdrawn.

According to him, all three of her lawyers failed to appear in court today, preventing her plea bargain from taking place, and as a result, the case has been adjourned to December 2nd.

Speaking to the media, Osofo Appiah Biblical stated, “Agradaa was in court today. When you see her, you will be shocked. Her whole body has changed. We were stunned by her physical appearance in court today.”

Meanwhile, Mama Pat, alias Agradaa, appeal against her 15-year jail term has been adjourned to December 4.

Agradaa’s court appearance on 20th November was adjourned as the appeal records were not ready.

According to her lawyers, the trial was flawed, the judgment unreasonable, and the judge biased.

The High Court in Amasaman will now hear Agradaa’s appeal against her 15-year jail term on 4th December.

She was convicted in July 2025 for defrauding church members through a money-doubling scheme.

Her team seeks to have the conviction and sentence overturned.

Agradaa is serving a 15-year jail term after she was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences.

She was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court.

Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.

Her charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.

In the ad, Agradaa claimed she has the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.

According to the Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and showed no remorse during proceedings.

“Mahama gov’t enabler of galamsey” – Afenyo-Markin

0

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said the John Mahama-led NDC government, through the purchase of gold from small-scale miners, is supporting galamsey activities.

Afenyo-Markin accused the John Mahama-led government of surrendering to galamsey activities and being an enabler of galamsey through Goldbod.

Speaking in parliament to deliver his concluding remark to end the debate on the 2026 budget, Afenyo-Markin stated, “This government has surrendered to galamsey activities. This government has become its enabler”.

“In this budget, the government announced that the Gold Board will buy gold from small-scale miners. They are not fighting illegal mining. Instead, the NDC government is financing it. This gives it official endorsement,” he stated.

He further lamented, “Today, members of NAIMOS are getting hurt, shot at, and even killed while fighting a battle their own government has abandoned. Eight lives were lost on their way to launch a programme to fight illegal mining”.

“Today, their own government is showing neither seriousness nor commitment to stop illegal mining. They have created a Gold Board to buy gold they cannot trace and from miners they cannot verify, a system built for complicity, not enforcement. If the government cannot trace the gold, it should not buy it,” he added.

He further stated boldly that the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy Document must be withdrawn, with a new budget brought before Parliament.

The minority leader labelled the 2026 Budget Statement as a “cut-and-paste” compilation, failing to provide a fresh policy direction.

According to Afenyo-Markin, Ato Forson, the finance minister, failed to present a carefully prepared and accurate budget.

Speaking on the floor of parliament during the debate of the policy document on Thursday, November 27, Afenyo-Markin stated, “How can you, at paragraph 519, claim that there is a Ministry of Railway Development? How can you, at paragraph 528, say there is a Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, and at paragraph 523 refer to a Ministry of Works and Housing?”

He further asserted that the 2026 budget was recycled from previous budget statements.

“This document has been brought to Parliament in the least. This document must be withdrawn and a new budget brought before Parliament,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has declared that Ghana has moved from a ‘criminal economic mismanagement’ to prudence.

He argued that Ghana has moved from criminal handling of the economy to a regime of prudence within just one year.

Mahama Ayariga praised the fiscal direction of the Mahama administration, adding that the budget demonstrates clear evidence of growth.

He added, “This is a budget that will generate growth. This is a budget that reflects prudent management of the resources of this economy to achieve growth objectives,” he stated.

“In one year — and this budget reflects this — we have shifted gears from a criminal handling of the economy to prudence. Indeed, the president had the course to describe the situation that we met in this country as a crime scene.”

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries” – President Trump

0

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has declared he will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries.

The US President, in his Thanksgiving message, wrote, “A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being “Politically Correct,” and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration.

The official United States Foreign population stands at 53 million people (Census), most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.

They and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form. They put up with what has happened to our Country, but it’s eating them alive to do so! A migrant earning $30,000 with a green card will get roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family. The real migrant population is much higher. This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America, something that did not exist after World War ll (Failed schools, high crime, urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits, etc.).

As an example, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota. Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for “prey” as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone. The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both, while the worst “Congressman/woman” in our Country, llhan Omar, always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally in that you are not allowed to marry your brother, does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country for lack of Government, Military, Police, schools, etc…

…Even as we have progressed technologically, Immigration Policy has eroded those gains and living conditions for many. I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country, end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.

These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for – You won’t be here for long!”.

Meanwhile, the information gathered suggests Ghana is not a “third-world” country.

According to modern classification, Ghana is a lower-middle-income country that has achieved middle-income status.

Ghana, which is facing challenges like poverty, inequality, and infrastructure gaps, leads to people mistakenly labelling the country as a  “third world”.

Wesley Girls’ has accepted all faiths for over 189 years – Methodist Church

0

Most Rev.

“The Methodist Church Ghana remains committed to dialogue and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to ensure peace, understanding, and mutual respect among all faiths and traditions”, the statement concluded.

Shafic Osman argued that a public school cannot lawfully restrict the religious rights of Muslim students nor compel them to practise a faith they do not subscribe to.

He grounded his case in the Constitution and international human rights principles, arguing that Wesley Girls’ rules violate Ghana’s constitutional protections for religious freedom.

Also, Haruna Iddrisu, the Education Minister, speaking on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, emphasised that the rights of every Ghanaian child must be respected and protected.

High Court declares Akosua Serwaah and Odo Broni as Daddy Lumba’s surviving spouses

The Kumasi High Court has declared Akosua Serwaah Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, as the surviving spouses of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

The assaulted man was later scolded by his colleagues in the presence of the woman.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news praised the Ghana Police, saying, “This is good news. Domestic violence is something we must confront together. It doesn’t affect only women, and the fight against it requires every voice. Period!!! Good job, Ghana police”.

A netizen added, “We would finally stop seeing women abusing men as normal and not only take action when roles are reversed”.

“Moral lesson: Leave a scene of crime if you cannot control it, See as they dy find who no touch the Guy o”, one X user advised.

One more X user added, “Honestly, I think she’s safer in police custody. If she hadn’t got arrested, she could have been targeted by a group of angry men seeking street justice. Beyond charging her with a crime, I think she may need to go for anger management classes so she learns to control her temper”.

Additionally, a netizen wrote, “I blame some men for going after such women. Women who have no shame in embarrassing a man, privately, let alone take it public.

And the surprising thing is that most of them aren’t raised this way by their parents, they got to learn that through peers and bad influences”.

One more Ghanaian added, “It shouldn’t just end here, and later she will be released, she should be jailed for abuse, and we will wait for an update on this story”.

We involved town elders to assist with the proper rites before continuing our rescue efforts.”

A Buduburam resident added, “We are appealing for this manhole to be relocated to higher ground, where water problems won’t occur. At the very least, it should be filled for now to prevent further accidents and save the lives of children in the community.”

NPP supporters sponsored Mahama to defeat Dr Bawumia in 2024 election – Asenso Boakye

0

Francis Asenso Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama and the former Roads and Highways Minister, has alleged that some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters sponsored John Mahama to defeat Dr Bawumia in the 2024 election.

According to Francis Asenso‑Boakye, the NPP supporters, unhappy with Dr Bawumia leading the party as a flagbearer in the 2024 elections, sponsored John Mahama ahead of the December 2024 polls.

Speaking on Angel TV, Francis Asenso‑Boakye detailed, “Our contest to elect a flagbearer in 2023 was very divisive, with tension and all that; we even went as far as insulting each other. Even during our campaign, our own words were being used against us by the NDC.

Some of our own NPP people were actively working against our win in 2024, so it was difficult, including some who sponsored the then-opposition party against us. It was a difficult election”.

He continued, “It’s all because of how we conducted our primaries. I have gone to a primary, and I lost. In the NPP, after losing a we support whoever wins the election, but some people do not understand; they were sabotaging the one that won.

I am not talking about the presidential candidate; some individuals in our party supported some other aspirants for me. I had a call from a known activist of the NDC mentioning people who were coming to the then opposition leader. They were giving him money, which is sad. Today, some of these things are being brought up that Dr Bawumia did not perform well, so we should elect another candidate”.

Asenso-Boakye further emphasised that no matter the situation, he will support the NPP right or wrong, adding that he will support whoever emerges winner in the NPP presidential race on January 31, 2026.

“If you are an NPP party, no matter the situation, my party right or wrong, you have to support an NPP candidate. I am not supporting other candidate, but if they emerge victorious, I will work hard for whoever is selected”.

Meanwhile, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate in the 2024 elections, has admitted that the party’s defeat was partly due to a loss of trust between the government and the people.

According to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, after ten months of political reflection, he has come to the realisation that the Akufo-Addo government simply did not listen enough.

He asserted that the government had broken the trust between citizens, which led to the NPP’s humiliating defeat.

Napo explained that the government had to navigate severe global economic and health crises, which affected many countries and, consequently, the financial stability and savings of the citizens.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated, “One thing I’ve concluded in the last 10 months is that there was a broken trust between citizens to government. The trust that was broken hurt so much so that we saw the results so broken”.

“We didn’t listen enough, we assumed a lot of things we shouldn’t have assumed,” he admitted.

He added, “We had gone through the worst global economic climate, medically and economically or health-wise. A container from China that cost $1200 logistic-wise had risen to $14,000. People’s lifetime savings have been wiped out”

“People had died in their droves that had never been seen before, without a military crisis or World War. So a lot of things that happened.”

Napo stressed that the NPP’s biggest failure was not hearing the public early enough, and the failure paved the way for everything that followed.

‘NPP internal contests mirror Solomon and the two women in the Bible’ – Oppong Nkrumah

0

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi and former Minister for Works and Housing, has said the ongoing internal contest ahead of the 2028 flagbearership race mirrors the famous Biblical story involving King Solomon and two women over the rights to a baby.

According to Oppong Nkrumah, in the Biblical narration, two feuding women were fighting over ownership of the baby, with one caring about the safety of the baby and another asking King Solomon to slit the baby in two and give equal parts to them.

He recounted that King Solomon, in his wisdom, was able to determine the rightful mother, urging the NPP delegates to note that the utterances by some of the aspirants aimed at creating confusion and disaffection for the party.

Speaking to NPP delegates of his constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated, “I want to refer all to the Bible, First Kings 3:16. This is where you find King Solomon and the two women who were fighting for the rights to a baby,” Oppong Nkrumah told his constituents.

“When you look at the conversations going on in our internal contest, you’ll realise that whilst some of the aspirants are conducting themselves in a manner that promotes party unity and internal cohesion, others are stoking fire and fuelling disunity, just like the woman who wanted the baby killed,” he said.

He added, “When you listen to the messages of some of the aspirants, it is all about disunity, knocking heads together and causing confusion in our party. They only say things that will make the party unattractive.”

“However, one man, Dr Bawumia, never does that. Today that he’s here, he won’t insult anybody; he won’t say things that will bring disunity to the party. He always talks about his vision and what he will do for this party and the country.”

“So if you want to know, in Biblical context, who you think is the rightful owner (of the child) in this our internal context, as is said in Kings 3:16, the one who is creating disunity and chaos is not the rightful owner.”

Oppong Nkrumah added, “I always say that in this party, we always build up to a level and then some people try to bring everything down. God has given us a gift because, despite all the challenges in 2024, we had a man who was able to lead us to secure 41.7%.

“We have an opportunity to present him again and build on what we have done, but some people are bent on destroying everything with divisive comments and asking you to destroy everything. These are people who do not love the party’s progress.”

Meanwhile, the Global InfoAnalytics latest poll has revealed that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and presidential candidate hopeful for the NPP, leads in thirteen out of the sixteen regions in Ghana.

The poll revealed Dr Bawumia continues to dominate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.

In addition, Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director, Global Info Analytics, has made a bold call that Kennedy Agyapong will win the Volta Region in NPP’s presidential primaries, Dr. Bawumia will win in the Eastern Region.
